Peter Tosh - the Stepping Razor - along with Bob Marley, and Bunny Wailer, one of the founding members of The Wailers. He was the militant and, often times angry, side of The Wailers, and wrote songs like "Get Up Stand Up", before leaving to pursue his solo career.

An Uncompromised Warrior, who never stopped pointing his razor, and always fought against all forms of injustice, with his songs and his adequately carved Riffle Guitar.

He was murdered in 1987, but he will live forever as an icon. Here, captured at his prime...

At long last, here's my epic tribute to the late, undeniably great Prince Rogers Nelson! I've wanted to devote an entire mix to him for ages, and I'm happy to have finally edited together something I hope is worthy of one of my all-time favourite artists. Over the next 3.5 hours, you'll be hearing a VERY generous sampling of his best recordings, from his debut single (i.e. 1978's "Soft And Wet") to his final worldwide chart-topper (i.e. 1994's "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World") and countless points in between, sampling every album he released during that period. Here, you'll find iconic hits, beloved b-sides and album tracks, along with the odd remix. To be honest, I ended up leaving out A LOT of first-rate material; otherwise, this mix would be twice as long!

Hopefully, the casual Prince fans amongst you will develop a deeper appreciation for his genius, while die-hard fans will enjoy hearing this carefully curated tribute.

Widely considered as one of the top musicians of the 20th century, Miles Davis (1926–1991) was a major force in jazz. He was not only a gifted trumpeter and composer, but also an innovator who created a nine-member band called the “nonet,” in which unconventional (in jazz) instruments like French horn and tuba were used. He also invented a style known as “cool jazz,” characterized by softer and more subdued tempos than traditional jazz rhythms.


Quincy Troupe is an awarding-winning author of ten volumes of poetry, three children’s books, and six non-fiction works. In 2010, Troupe received the American Book Award for Lifetime Literary Achievement. Among Troupe’s best-selling works are Miles: The Autobiography of Miles Davis and his memoir, Miles & Me, soon to become a major motion picture.

He joins us on Culture Insight to share his insight into the life and work of Miles Davis.
