British pop star Boy George recalls, revisits and assesses how the 1970's moulded the person and artist he has become. This is his musical, social and sexual coming of age, when he discovered the power of his own sexuality before setting about turning that persona into a popstar. Set against a backdrop of social discord, disenfranchisement and sexual repression, the seventies was also conversely the decade that revelled in colour and creative chaos, giving the world glam rock, disco and punk, and the young George O'Dowd was at the birth of them all. The documentary includes contributions from contemporaries like Martin Degville (Sigue Sigue Sputnik), Andy Polaris (Animal Nightlife), DJ Princess Julia and popstar Marilyn. This is, as George said, 'the last ever bonkers decade', and it totally and completely shaped him.
Boy George says: 'I think of the 70's as being this glorious decade where I discovered who I was and discovered all these amazing things - punk rock, electro music, fashion, all of that. And yeah of course there was that dark side to the 70's, the rubbish, the strikes, the poverty, and I'd get chased and confronted for the way I looked. But I was a teenager. I didn't have any time for misery. I was just having a great time with my friends!

June 13, 2016 by SURAYA MOHAMED • Sometimes big-name artists need special attention. But in this case, it wasn't because they've been jazz pioneers and innovators since the 1960s and are considered to be founding fathers of jazz fusion, not to mention two of the most important jazz figures performing today. It's not because they've collectively recorded more than 100 albums and won 29 Grammy Awards. The agitation was because both of their instruments couldn't fit behind Bob Boilen's Tiny Desk.
There were logistical hurdles to overcome before the jazz giants' arrival. We had to move the desk to make a bigger "stage." Piano movers hauled the 900-pound Yamaha C7 grand piano from our first-floor performance studio up the freight elevator to the fourth-floor Tiny Desk area. But weeks of meticulous measuring and planning paid off when the rented vibes were delivered and just fit alongside the piano.
Gary Burton and Chick Corea were in town for the 2016 NEA Jazz Masters Concert. The NEA Jazz Masters fellowship is the highest honor our nation bestows on jazz artists. Each year, the program honors a select few living legends who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of jazz. Burton was a newly appointed 2016 recipient, while Corea received the honor in 2006.
These friends first played together 44 years ago, when they recorded their very first album, Crystal Silence. In his autobiography, Gary Burton tells the story:
We set aside three days for the recording. Except for ... one tune in Munich, Chick and I hadn't worked together before Berlin, so we figured we would need a fair amount of time to choose songs and finalize arrangements. But to our amazement, it all went incredibly fast. We would spend maybe twenty minutes creating an arrangement, and then record. We did every song in just one take, except that we required a second spin through "Senor Mouse."
The record was finished in just a few hours, and the two realized they had a unique musical chemistry with the ability to anticipate each other's improvisational ideas. That album went on to become a classic: flawless yet fresh and forever new.
A few thousand concerts later, the jazz masters showed up at NPR HQ to perform a concert at our newly expanded Tiny Desk. On this day, it had been almost two years since Chick Corea and Gary Burton had played together — the longest break they'd ever had. But once again, their remarkable ability to connect was demonstrated in two songs they play together all the time.

I studied the top producers to see how they made their income and came up with these top 3 methods! If you want more content gone head and click that subscribe button!
How to make a 30,000 a month selling beats with no followers!
IM Limbo and this is How to make 30k a month selling beats online, let's get straight into it.
There are bunch of different ways to make money as a music producer, but I'm going to talk about the top 3 I've seen people have the most success with.
Before I tell you what these are it is crucial that you spend time to work on your craft and really get good and making beats. Because its going to be a lot easier to sell a product that’s actually fire!
Method number. 1 Collab sales! What do you mean collab sales? You send big producers who are already gettingsales, your loops, they use it to make a beat, that beat sales and you split the profits 50/50. You can find the email to most big producers by simply typing in type beats on youtube and they will post their email in the description of the video, also it is a good idea to send the same type of loop as the type beats they make, for example if the make drake type breats, you should probably send same drake type loops. Also it may sound counterintuitive, but you can also just pay for a collab from most big name producers. Because this guarantees they will use the loops you send them. Which a lot of smaller artist have actually gotten placements (description of what a placement is on the screen). And make lifelong connections through this. An example of a producer using the collab method would be Kavhi who was making around around 40,,000 per month and had no following at all. He was just sending fire loops to big name producers!
Method Number 2. Niche specific Type beats. This is where you create a type beat channel on youtube, but instead of posting big artist type beats, like Drake or Kendrick you instead post smaller artist like Bas or dro kenji type beat. And doing this you avoid the competition of all the bigger channels making type beats for those bigger artist. Now this method isnt as quick, because it takes time to build up a youtube channel, but it has a huge payoff because 1. You dont only get paid from selling your beats, but you also get paid for the views through google adsense too. There are so many producers who have made millions doing this method some of which being CashMoneyAP, Ant Chamberlin, and Dillygotitbumpin
Yo Before I Tell you guys the last method, i do ask if you are lkiking this video so far go ahead and subscribe and drop a like. Aight back to it
Method number 3 Dming Artist on instagram. I understand not a lot of people like this method because they feel like its spammy… but it works. The reality is most artist dont know you or what your beats sound like, but ALL OF THEM will need beats! Best way to find artist on instagram is to go to pages that promote upcoming artist, and most of them on will have paid to be promoted on that page which means they invest money in theyre music career, so these are the people who are most likely going to purchase a beat from you. This method is how Kyle Beats went from selling no beats to making thousands weekly
Let me know in the comments which method you guys think is the best. And Cya!
Madonna and Tupac Shakur were unlike most couples. Despite living in different worlds, they supported each other in secret. But when Madonna became labeled as the “woman obsessed with shocking people”, she took it too far and left Tupac feeling scared. What happened that broke Tupac’s heart? And why did he confront her?

I was thinking of a title for ages and I still don’t think it is the most suitable. I basically wanted to make compilation of Rihanna’s dirty jokes and sexual references because well.. she is Rihanna. And because quarantine gets me do things I don’t normally do, like making YT videos lol. Anyways, I hope you will enjoy it and if not then I am not sorry, because you spent 4 (or less) minutes of your life watching Rihanna so you’re welcome.
Stay safe.

I went to Santa Monica, CA to ask random people to sing with me for my series called "Sing With Me." That's when I met Sara Beth, Mounica, and Mannie.
Mounica (born in India) sat and watched me play for several people who were singing. Then, eventually her friend convinced her to sing with me. I’m glad she did. Not only did Mounica have a good time singing, but she made us all happier listening to her. Also, it gave her an opportunity to share her great singing talent with the world.
Sara Beth sang several songs with me that day as well. Mannie helped us finish the show with one last song. And then, after 5 or 6 hours, I was done for the day!
As a musician, I'm all about creating musical experiences that have people feeling happy and free, and that's why the "Sing With Me" series exists. Since 2018, I have asked thousands of random people to sing with me on camera. A lot of people have said no, some have said no initially but changed their minds to yes, and some have said yes right away. I ask these people to sing with one purpose: to create a way for them to experience a sense of happiness and freedom they did not feel before. And much of the time, this actually works (and that makes ME happy).

Sept. 23, 2019 | Lauren Onkey -- Rosanne Cash and her band arrived at NPR to play the Tiny Desk on a freezing cold, bright sunny day in January — one of those brittle, crystal clear winter days when the snow reflects the sun and there's nowhere to hide from the light. Her intense performance had that same balance of heat and ice.
The songs that Cash performed at the desk, most taken from her 2018 album She Remembers Everything, have a lot of emotional heat, but they're shaped and sculpted by the wry wisdom of age and experience. More than at any time in her career, her spirit and approach to performance these days reflects the influence of her father, the legendary country singer Johnny Cash.
The audience was so focused on Cash and her band that it felt a little tense in the room until after the first song, the ominous "She Remembers Everything." Cash made a joke about the attentiveness of the "NPR Listening Room" and everyone relaxed. But the performance rewarded intense listening. John Leventhal's evocative guitar swirled around the haunting lyrics.
The band was as focused as the audience, which underscored the themes of memory and loss in the songs. Roseanne Cash has been making great records for forty years, but she's never played or written better music than she's doing right now.

July 18, 2016 by BOB BOILEN • Gregory Porter's healing soul music sends a message of compassion, and he's got a baritone voice that resonates love. When Porter visited NPR, we'd just learned that our colleague, photojournalist David Gilkey, had been killed while working on a story for NPR in Afghanistan. When Porter began singing the calmly beautiful "No Love Dying," he may not have known how much it would mean to us. Yet this song of compassion and hope, from his Grammy-winning 2013 album Liquid Spirit, was just what we'd needed.
Porter and pianist Chip Crawford continued their thoughtful, entrancing set with "Take Me To The Alley" (the title track to Porter's new album), a song about how we treat and think about those who live on society's margins. Closing this Tiny Desk concert is "Don't Be A Fool," another new song of love, loyalty and trust. For us, Porter's set provided a timely reminder that we can all use comfort, counsel and guidance — and that music can be serious and heartwarming without losing its sense of wonder and delight.

Fatoumata Diawara is a true multi-hyphenate – an esteemed Malian singer, songwriter and actress who left her home country at 19 to pursue her artistry in France. By way of Como, Italy, she delivers a riveting performance alongside her bandmates, many of whom have toured with her since 2018. The guitarist and keyboardist here – Yacouba Kone and Arecio Smith – both contributed to her Grammy-nominated album, Fenfo.
Rich, textured guitars complement her native Bambara vocals and bring a contemporary feel to her traditional Malian sound. These renditions are sonically disparate from her album versions. On "Kanou Dan Yen," Fatoumata's captivating and calming aura is as contagious as her electric smile. "Nterini" is a touching ode to her lover about how distance creates enormous heartache. Fatoumata ends her set on a vibrant note with "Negue Negue," an uptempo Afrobeat jam with rambunctious rhythm and spirit.

Two rappers on the rise to hip-hop stardom became fast friends — and even faster enemies, which may have led to their untimely passings.
Their worlds seemed destined to collide. They were two of the most talented hip-hop rappers on the scene. And they both were dedicated to exposing the truth of the tribulations of life on the streets, social injustice and the racial divide. But the biggest difference between Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls: They represented different coasts.
What exploded into arguably the biggest rivalry in music history, ended up in the death of both artists, just as their careers were skyrocketing. Tupac (also known as 2Pac) was gunned down on September 7, 1996, and died six days later, while Biggie (also known as the Notorious B.I.G.) was shot and killed six months later on March 9, 1997.
Neither murder has ever been solved. But one thing that there’s no question about is that they started off as friends.
Turn Me Up In The Headphones debuted during Season 8 of Wild ‘N Out, and since then we’ve gotten to see the cast do their best impressions of celebrities, musicians, and, of course, each other. Here’s every single time they played the game.

The Tiny Desk is working from home for the foreseeable future. Introducing NPR Music's Tiny Desk (home) concerts, bringing you performances from across the country and the world. It's the same spirit — stripped-down sets, an intimate setting — just a different space.
Abby O'Neill | November 16, 2020
Enter the unassuming and innately talented Michael Kiwanuka from a "rainy London" flat that's dimly lit with a vintage feel. The Mercury Prize-winning musician evokes an all-encompassing softness in spirit as he leads viewers into the "Light," the first of five songs in his Tiny Desk (home) concert. The warm texture of his voice and tenderness of his soul belie the depth of his songwriting, which ranges from sociopolitical works to songs revealing the inner chambers of self-exploration. Featuring material from both Love & Hate and his more recent award-winning Kiwanuka, this is an absolutely stunning performance.

After years of trying to get his rap career off the ground, Joseph Foreman (aka Afroman) struck gold with a cautionary tale about the consequences of excessive weed smoking. “Because I Got High” began gaining traction throughout the South but once it made its way onto Napster and the Howard Stern show, it became an unlikely mainstream hit. Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes starred in the iconic music video and featured the track in their film “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back”, and the song eventually became a #1 hit in 11 countries. VICE meets Afroman to retell the story of his perennial stoner anthem and speak to Kevin Smith about his experience being a part of taking the song sky high.

RARE Selena video, not seen in more than 20 years was found and digitized by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. This footage of Selena on the program “Tejano USA” was found in a TV camera donated to the museum’s Spanish-language television project by Univision, the parent company of San Antonio’s KWEX-TV, Channel 41. The station’s production manager put an unlabeled ¾ inch tape in the camera to show what format that camera used.
When the museum digitized the video this summer, the Selena footage was discovered. The production manager, who actually directed the segment with Selena, tells the museum that after Selena passed away in 1995, he had looked everywhere for the video with no luck. The video resurfaced just as the museum planned to open a display on Hispanic Advertising that includes the Tejana artists’ work as a spokesperson for Coca-Cola.
The video was taken at Hemisfair Park, San Antonio Texas, April 1994 just before Selena performed at the “Texas Live” Music Festival sponsored by Coca Cola.

They couldn’t have been more different on the outside however, on the inside their hearts all beat to the same R&B drum. Every time they opened their mouths to sing, the mouths of anyone within earshot dropped to the floor. Success was inevitable. However, after many years of brotherhood and hit making, personal issues among the members would pull them apart forever. Let’s find out what happened to American ‘90s R&B group Color Me Badd.

Oct. 18, 2017 | Bobby Carter -- Thundercat, born Stephen Bruner, is willing and able to shape-shift to fit into just about any box you show him — he just won't stay in there for long. Whether fusing his talent for jazz while a bassist with punk legacy act Suicidal Tendencies or as a member of Snoop Dogg's band — maybe running a little too far with a solo here and there — the focus seems to eventually drift his way.
After releasing two brilliant solo albums, he was plucked to work on what eventually became one of the most important works of art released this decade: Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly. Capitalizing off of the new exposure, he quickly released the EP The Beyond/Where the Giants Roam. That was followed about two years later by Drunk, his most solid project to date.
I didn't know what to expect in the days leading to the performance, but I was hoping to get what I thought a Thundercat experience would be like. All boxes ended up checked: He arrived wearing a neon pink hoodie with his signature logo plastered about, kickboxing shorts, white chancletas, playing a Nintendo portable gaming console. He and his bandmates Dennis Hamm, Justin Brown and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, all master musicians in their own right, polished off some bacon croissant sandwiches and proceeded to give us three of the best of what Drunk has to offer.
