The Driver Era - Back to You (Live Performance) | Vevo Hotney 9 Streams • 2 years ago

The Driver Era - Back To You. An exclusive live performance for Vevo.

It’s been said that being in a band is like being in a family. For Ross and Rocky Lynch, it’s a literal fact. Prior to forming The Driver Era, the brothers were part of the teen pop-rock band R5, which included their siblings Riker and Rydel. Together, the four Cali bros dropped Billboard-charting albums and toured the world. When the sun went down on that era in 2018, The Driver Era began. Debut single “Preacher Man” checked off the duo's first order of business: establish a grittier sound steeped in bolder production. More than 30 million Spotify streams to date of “Preacher Man” indicate a successful pivot. 2019's ‘X’ debut further highlights the group's willingness to push creative boundaries. Introspection marks "Low" and "Afterglow,” while "Feel You Now" and "Scared of Heights" spotlight their flair for upbeat anthems. R&B, new wave, and funk are all in play on the ‘Girlfriend’ album from a couple years back. This February's “Get Of My Phone” cashes in on the previously laid groundwork. Ross plays the dude with a broken heart, his distorted vocals underscoring blurry emotions. Fans have been screaming along to it at stops on the X Girlfriend tour (that cheeky title means they’re serious about pushing things forward). The Vevo fam and Lynch fam united in the middle of the guys' US tour. The Euro leg begins in September. In the meantime, here's your live fix for the summer.

Lyrics:

Stuck

I’ve always been the one to
Find a way, make a change
Hit the wall and break through
You don’t walk in my shoes
Cause it would break you
Shut your mouth, know your place
Cause now the debt is due
Debt is due

Do not assume
I got this attitude
From a lucky hand I drew
I pulled this out the dirt
I did the dirty work
You can bury the dead
Yeah I got nothing to lose
Nothing to lose

It’s over, it’s over
It’s my time
It’s my time

This song is
My closure
It’s my time
It’s my time

This is for the people who can’t break through
I used to feel just like you
Stuck

Uphill battles everyday I’m at my breaking point
I lay the cards out on the table to show you case and point
Speaking loud to me again but I cannot hear your voice
I’ve lost my sense of self but don’t count me out I don’t disappoint

Do not assume
I got this attitude
From the lucky hand I drew
I pulled this out the dirt
I did the dirty work
You can bury the dead
Yeah I got nothing to lose
Nothing to lose

It’s over, it’s over
It’s my time
It’s my time

This song is
My closure
It’s my time
It’s my time

This is for the people who can’t break through
I used to feel just like you
Stuck

Stuck

It’s my time, my time
(Don’t count me out!)
It’s my time, my time
(Don’t let me down!)
It’s my time, my time
(Don’t count me out!)
It’s my time, my time

Soul searching for signs don’t try to rescue me
Do this on my own until they bury me
Final time I let you get the best of me
Nothing left to lose, follow my destiny

This is for the people who can’t break through
I used to feel just like you

It’s over, it’s over, it’s over
It’s my time
It’s over, it’s over

It’s over

Anyone think they go against me put ya money up right now
Back in the days ….
I don’t wanna hear it

You not a bad boy
You ain’t that big no more
You ain’t the trend no more
That ain’t what’s in no more
The rims don’t spin no more
Ain’t about the swag or drip no more
It’s about unspoken rizz galore
Ain’t no new school vs old school
I’m Lebron James got my own school
All the old stuff that You went thru
Ain’t nothin like what I go through
I’m a do it better cuz I’m posed to
And it feel better cuz I’m humble
You don’t understand what we mumble
Like Ha ha ha ha ha
I make it hot for you
I ain’t have to stand on the block like you
I didn’t have to whip it in the pot like you
Like Ha ha ha ha ha
I ain’t have to rock like you
Your dad wasn’t there me me n pop like glue Ok let’s get it!
It’s about time they give my credit can’t Nobody do it like I did it
Old heads started this game off different
This Young boi here going finish

Any one think they go against me put ya money up right now yalets bet it
Who better? Bet it!!
Bet it !!! Bet it!!
Let’s get it!! Bet it!!
Bet it!!
Anyone think they go against me put ya money up right now.

Since I been in it man rap gettin better

“Bouncin” Lyrics:

Rrrr
Somethin', my body's sayin' somethin'
I'm underwater, drownin'
I know that I ain't trippin'
Can't leave without it
Bounce, then, I'll take you to my house and
I'll show you all around it
Yeah, we could keep it bouncin'
Yeah, we could keep it

I don't know if you could deal with it, ayy
Whip it up and make a meal with, ayy
Ain't nobody gettin' real with it, ayy
Freak it up, break it down, break it down, down
Ooh, what am I seein' right now?
Ooh, lookin' so good with the lights out
I don't know you, but I want to, yeah
Put a move on it, I like that
If you want it, you could reel it in, show me what you got
And we don't gotta talk 'bout it, oh yeah

Somethin', my body's sayin' somethin'
I'm underwater, drownin'
I know that I ain't trippin'
Can't live without it (Woo)
Bounce, then, I'll take you to my house and (Woo, woo, woo, woo)
I'll show you all around it
Yeah, we could keep it bouncin'
Yeah, we could keep it (Woo, woo, woo, woo, Offset)

I'm drownin' in water (Drown)
Got diamonds up on your water (Splash)
This Birkin a quarter, hop on jets across the border (Jet)
Throw it down like a tortoise (Tortoise)
You took it back, I support it (Bad)
I was 'sleep in the bando, no power, windows were boarded (No)
I get mad in my feelings (Mad), I go to music recordin' (Mad)
My wife is the baddest, she not a dime, she a quarter (She bad)
I go get the bag, it's for my two sons and two daughters (Who)
Bounce it, then back it, and pop that shit with no order (Hey)
I done fell for a bad one (Fell), better than the last one (Yeah)
I'ma beat it, nail her to the wall like a plasma (Beat it)
Pull up in the fall, droppin' jaw, diamonds dancin'
Really from the Nawf, I might golf at the mansion (Nawf)
Summertime in the drop top or a Phantom (Drop top)
This gon' be your favorite song, bounce it to the anthem
I done ran this money up, somethin' I didn't imagine (Hey, who?)
You and me together, we make magic

Somethin', my body's sayin' somethin' (Hey)
I'm underwater, drownin' (Drip)
I know that I ain't trippin' (Drown)
Can't live without it (Woo)
Bounce, then, I'll take you to my house and (Woo, woo, woo, woo)
I'll show you all around it (Bounce)
Yeah, we could keep it bouncin' (Woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo)
Yeah, we could keep it

She got a way to take your world and turn it sideways
I'm used to gettin' what I want, I like it my way (She bad)
Hit 'em like a landslide (Woo)
Never make it rain, make it pour
Make it go left, right, left, right
Feelin' like I should let you know (Hey)
Somethin', my body's sayin' somethin' (Hey)

I'm underwater, drownin' (Drip)
I know that I ain't trippin' (Drown)
Can't leave without it (Woo)
Bounce, then, I'll take you to my house and (Woo, what, woo, woo)
I'll show you all around it
Yeah, we could keep it (Woo, woo)
One, two, three, finished (Woo, woo, woo)
