Lyrics:
Hand to God I promised I tried
There’s no stone left unturned
It’s not what you did
It’s what you didn’t
You were there but you weren’t

Got so used to you letting me down
No use trying to send flowers now
Telling myself you’ll change, you don’t
Bandaids over a broken heart

Tried all the medications
Lowered my expectations
Made every justification
Bleeding out, bleeding out, bleeding out slow
Bandaids over a broken heart

On the bright side
We had good times
Never faked our pictures
We were perfect
Til we weren’t
Now we’ve got too many splinters

Got so used to you letting me down
No use trying to send flowers now
Telling myself you’ll change, you don’t
Bandaids over a broken heart

Tried all the medications
Lowered my expectations
Made every justification
Bleeding out, bleeding out, bleeding out slow
Bandaids over a broken heart

It’s not that complicated
To ask me how my day is
I’m flatlining tryna to save this
Bleeding out, bleeding out, bleeding out slow
Bandaids over a broken heart

If I had to do it all over again
I would still do it all over again
The love that we made was worth it in the end
Oh yeah, oh yeah

If I had to do it all over again
I would still do it all over again
The love that we made was worth it in the end
Oh yeah

Tried all the medications
Lowered my expectations
Made every justification
Bleeding out, bleeding out, bleeding out slow
Bandaids over a broken heart

N.O.R.E music to cultural icon, inside stories on his life, Kanye & regret about Jordan | The Pi Hotney 451 Bekeken • 12 maanden geleden

Pivot Family! hit the button to SUBSCRIBE HERE: https://www.youtube.com/channe....l/UCUnxiP7q4RDDyeioZ

“My biggest Pivot is when I set out to do something and people doubt me. I like to have my back against the wall, that’s something that makes me.” Norega

What happens when a rap legend trades the stage for the mic, and then turns that mic into a cultural movement? Ryan, Channing and Fred sit down with N.O.R.E.—once frontman of the Queens duo Capone‑N‑Noreaga, still a platinum-selling solo act, and now one of hip-hop’s most trusted voices behind the mic.

We get to know N.O.R.E behind the fame and see him as the family man who loves being a grandpa, building wealth with his wife, who wakes up at 4am to embark on training for the NYC marathon, the guy in the group chat who is always motivating you and the friend who reaches out just to check in.

In this wide-ranging conversation, we cover his journey through music, from his early days in Queens, going from jail to how meeting NAS changed his entire perspective on life to being one of the originals to boast Reggaeton to shifting into podcasting, co-founding the hit show Drink Champs with DJ EFN to becoming constant presence in hip hop culture.
He takes the guys behind-the-scenes of hip-hop’s biggest names, the compliment from 50 Cent that impacted his legacy to Kanye West naming his first child after him to the unexpected collaborations to the “you wouldn’t believe” stories to his regret with Michael Jordan and how he's continuing to shape culture in a forever changing society. N.O.R.E shares how he developed a "whatever it takes" mentality to stay relevant as he's seen the culture he's helped build evolve three times over—on the mic, in the studio, in media.

This episode is filled with raw energy, unfiltered truths, sharp humor, and the kind of storytelling only someone who’s lived it can deliver. Whether you grew up riding the “Super Thug” beat or you’re discovering N.O.R.E.’s impact for the first time, this episode is a bridge—between then & now, between rap and media, between the grind and the growth and where we are headed next.

Tune in for a conversation that reminds us- a pivot isn’t just a change—it’s a choice and a continuous movement of evolution. And when you’ve seen it all, it’s what you do next that counts. Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe, we love hearing from you Pivot Family.

Lyrics:

When you can’t win
For losing
And the beggars start choosing the chaos in your head

Calls the cracks to start showing
All knowing all glowing with the light of the
Dying to raise the dead, oh

You’re a world away
But you’re still the same
I know you by your heart
And I will call you by your name

It’s a long way
From the crack to the break

You know that I remember everything

Steady yourself
And your tumbleweed words

Be a street corner preacher
Or just feed the birds

But don’t hold to yourself
With hard mortar and stone

Be a rubber band man
Make the water your bones

Dying just to live
Now

You’re a world away
But you’re still the same

I know you by your heart
And I will call you by your name

And it’s a long way
From the crack to the break

You know that I remember everything

When I said forever

You said get back in the car
Nothing lasts forever babe
You know it breaks my heart

And I’ll call you anything that you like

And I am free and I’m able
To call you the second that you die
Just to live
Now

You’re a world away
But you’re still the same

I know you by your heart
And I will call you by your name

And it’s a long way
From the crack to the break

You know that I remember everything

When I said forever
You said get back in the car
Nothing lasts forever babe
You know it breaks my heart

You’re a world away
But you’re still the same

You know that I remember everything

New ink on your skin
Red lips in the dark

Nothing lasts forever babe
You know it breaks my heart

Put a shiver on your skin
Do your hair in the car

If nothing lasts forever babe
Then can we make a start?

Official lyrics

Time is standing still and
I don’t wanna leave your lips
Tracing my body with your fingertips
I know what you’re feeling and I know you wanna say it
I do too but we gotta be patient

‘Cause someone like me
and someone like you
really shouldn’t work
yeah the history is proof

Damned if I don’t
Damned if I do
You know by now we’ve seen it all

Oh, we should fall in love with our eyes closed
Better if we keep it where we don’t know
The beds we’ve been in
The names and the faces of who we were with
And oh, ain’t nobody perfect but it’s all good
the past can’t hurt us if we don’t look
lets let it go
Better if we fall in love with our eyes closed

I got tunnel vision every second that you’re with me
No, I don’t care what anybody says just kiss me

Cuz you look like trouble
but it could be good
I’ve been the same kind of misunderstood
Whatever you’ve done trust it ain’t nothing new
you know by now we’ve seen it all

Oh, we should fall in love with our eyes closed
Better if we keep it where we don’t know
The beds we’ve been in
The names and the faces of who we were with
And oh, ain’t nobody perfect but it’s all good
the past can’t hurt us if we don’t look
lets let it go
Better if we fall in love with our eyes closed

‘Cause someone like me
and someone like you
really shouldn’t work
yeah the history is proof

Damned if I don’t
Damned if I do
You know by now we’ve seen it all

Oh, we should fall in love with our eyes closed
Better if we keep it where we don’t know
The beds we’ve been in
The names and the faces of who we were with
And oh, ain’t nobody perfect but it’s all good
the past can’t hurt us if we don’t look
lets let it go
Better if we fall in love with our eyes closed
