Music video by Jim Jones & Ron Browz featuring Juelz Santana performing Pop Champagne. (c) 2008 Sony Music Entertainment

Simon and Garfunkel are arguably one of music’s most successful folk-rock duos. They were one of the best-selling groups of the 1960s and have written some of music’s most memorable songs like “The Sound of Silence,” “Mrs. Robinson,” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

Unfortunately, hit singles are not the only thing that Simon and Garfunkel are known for. The duo is also known for their rocky relationship, artistic disagreements, and countless breakups. They have won 10 Grammy Awards, headlined 1981’s The Concert in Central Park, and are in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, but Simon and Garfunkel's career and life have had their fair share of turmoil and tragedy.

The Concert in Central Park, released in February 1982 on Warner Bros. Records, is the first live album by American folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. It was recorded on the 19th September 1981 at a free benefit concert on the Great Lawn in Central Park, New York City, where the pair performed in front of an audience reported at the time as 500.000 people. Later estimates determined that the maximum number of people who could fit in the park space was 48.500. A film of the event was shown on TV and released on video. Proceeds went toward the redevelopment and maintenance of the park, which had deteriorated due to lack of municipal funding. The concert and album marked the start of a three-year reunion of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel.

Today, The Clash is way more popular than it ever was when they were still together.
Sure, the Sex Pistols and Ramones came first, but The Clash were arguably even more influential than both in terms of bringing the entire punk movement into the mainstream, even if that took a couple decades. But while the Sex Pistols sought to destroy rock, The Clash sought to resurrect it, and indeed, they took it in an entirely different direction. This is why most folks don’t even know about The Clash’s punk rock roots- they ended up being so much more than a punk rock band actually, exploring seemingly every music genre in existence.

They planted the seeds of what eventually became known as “alternative rock,” this weird genre that exploded into the mainstream in the 1990s.

The Clash were one of the first significant political bands. They were known for lyrics about social and racial injustice. For years after they broke up, concert promoters consistently tried to throw lots of money at them for a reunion show, but they always resisted.

After all, they didn’t seem to do it for the money. They did it for the passion. They did it for the fans. And that’s why their spirit still lives on.

Alice Cooper, live at Enmore Theatre in Sydney, AU. Recorded September 26, 2011.

Alice Cooper brought his renowned stage show to Sydney’s Enmore Theatre. Featuring snakes, decapitations, pyrotechnics, copious amounts of fake blood and all the biggest hits, it’s essential and unforgettable viewing.

The original and the best Shock Rocker, Alice Cooper was scaring audiences back when Marilyn Manson was still pulling limbs off his Barbies. A thrilling collision of heavy-riffing rock and ghoulish theatre, his Sydney visit came hot on the heels of his latest album ‘Welcome 2 My Nightmare’ and Moshcam was there to record this

A cliche start: 4 teenage boys form a rock band in the drummer’s kitchen. 45 years, 14 albums, 24 concert tours, 22 Grammies. U2 raises millions to fight hunger, disease and poverty. Music transcends melody. It means mission.

In January 1964, the BBC saw that for the first time ever the national singles chart was overflowing with British acts. Due to this, they created a weekly music chart rundown programme called Top Of The Pops. From then on, every Thursday evening Britain’s youth would be delighted by the latest UK chart goings-on, while being the only place to see their favourite artists and discover exciting new ones.

The presenters were cheesy, or much worse, and most of the time the band had to mime, but some of these performances would embed themselves unshakably into the public consciousness, inspiring generations of bands and artists in their wake, hoping that they too could get their three-minutes of Top of The Pops glory. From Bowie to Soft Cell, The Smiths to Blur, these are 12 Iconic Top of The Pops Performances That Forever Altered British Music.

XTC burst out of late 1970s Britain with hooks for days. While many of the punk bands around them proudly ignored anything before 1976, they took notes from The Beatles, Kinks, and Beach Boys and reformed them into pugnacious state-of-the-art pop. “Making Plans For Nigel,” “Generals and Majors” and “Senses Working Overtime” made their unique stamp on the UK Charts.

But when XTC stopped playing live in 1982, their career took a much more interesting turn. Unable to sell their Englishness to the UK, instead via calamitous recording sessions with Todd Rundgren and a dismissed b-side, XTC landed a punch squarely below the Bible Belt. This is New British Canon, and this is the story of “Dear God.”

Lyrics:
You call me, all friendly, tellin’ me how much you miss me
That’s funny, I guess you’ve heard my songs, well
I’m too busy for your business, go find a girl who wants to listen
Cause if you think I was born yesterday, you have got me wrong

So I cut you off, I don’t need your love
Cause I already cried enough, I been done
I’ve been movin’ on, since we said goodbye
I cut you off, I don’t need your love, so you can try all you want
Your time is up, I’ll tell you why

You say you’re sorry, but it’s too late now
So save it, get gone, shut up
Cause if you think I care about you now
Boy I don’t give a fuck

I remember that weekend, when my best friend caught you creepin’
You blamed it all on the alcohol
So, I made my decision, cause you made your bed sleep in it
Play the victim and switch your position, I’m through, I’m done

So I cut you off, I don’t need your love
Cause I already cried enough, I been done
I’ve been movin’ on, since we said goodbye
I cut you off, I don’t need your love, so you can try all you want
Your time is up, I’ll tell you why

You say you’re sorry, but it’s too late now
So save it, get gone, shut up
Cause if you think I care about you now
Boy I don’t give a fuck

I see you tryna get to me
I see you begging on your knees
Boy I don’t give a fuck
So stop tryna get to me
Get up off your knees
Boy I don’t give a fuck

About you, no I don’t give a damn
You keep reminiscin’ on when you were my man
But I’m over you, now you’re all in the past
You talk all that sweet talk but I ain’t comin’ back

Cut you off, I don’t need your love, so you can try all you want
Your time is up, I’ll tell you why, I’ll tell you why

You say you’re sorry, but it’s too late now
So save it, get gone, shut up
Cause if you think I care about you now
Well boy I don’t give a fuck

I see you tryna get to me
I see you begging on your knees
Boy I don’t give a fuck
So stop tryna get to me, get up off your knees
Boy I don't give a fuck
