Shenseea - Waistline. An exclusive live performance for Vevo.

Dancehall culture is as much about personality as it is about musical talent, and Shenseea has both in spades. The Jamaica native can certainly hit the notes, but she’s just as impressive leading crowds with toasts, boasts and more than a little brashness. Maxed-out confidence is right there in the name of last year’s debut: ‘ALPHA,’ an album throughout which the “Diana” singer puts her own desires first. “I’m the one you want/I’m the one you need,” she proclaims on the Tyga-assisted album opener “Target.” Two tracks later she’s going full sexual self-empowerment on “Deserve It,” a pop-leaning bop with a breathy hook a la TLC and Destiny’s Child. That features include both Caribbean staples such as Beanie Man and Sean Paul alongside hip-hop luminaries 21 Savage and Megan Thee Stallion tells you she’s aiming for full crossover cred. “Waistline” certainly does the job, and the only thing this performance is missing is a sweaty crowd dancing alongside her. Advice: Do some toe touches before heeding Shen’s commands.

lyrics

until I’m brave enough to call you
i just fall through every time
wish I’d waved when I saw you
i just watched you passing by

so much coming through
every hour too
can’t get enough of you
you come around I’m ruined
you come around I’m ruined

you gave me no answer
nor asked me to lie
you just gave me an amethyst
from your jeweled vest as you cried

so much coming through
every hour too
can’t get enough of you
you come around I’m ruined
you come around I’m ruined

so much coming through
every hour too
can’t get enough of you
you come around I’m ruined
you come around I’m ruined

we shared in the basement
as the fern bent to the window
and we drew to alignment
as the water soaked the pillow

so much coming through
every hour too
can’t get enough of you
you come around I’m ruined
you come around I’m ruined

so much coming through
every hour too
can’t get enough of you
you come around I’m ruined
you come around I’m ruined

so much coming through
every hour too
can’t get enough of you
you come around I’m ruined
you come around I’m ruined

so much coming through
every hour too
can’t get enough of you
you come around I’m ruined
you come around I’m ruined

so much coming through
every hour too
can’t get enough of you

Letra:
Contigo….
Quiero tocar tu piel….
Susurrando al odio…
Oh yeah…
Big Up!
Rules the Nation…

¿Cómo le puedo hacer?
Pa’ convencerte
A solas quiero tenerte…

Ua…
Ua…

Quiero morder tu piel
Darte taller
La presión voy a aplicarte
Ua, Ua…

¿Qué tu harás si te digo?
Mis fantasías contigo
Susurrado al oído
Te comienzas a calentar…

Tú me dices y nos vamos
¿Qué nosotros esperamos?
Si los dos nos gustamos
Y las miradas no lo pueden negar

Farru!
Desde que te vi yo sabía
Que tu ibas a ser mía
Y algo a mi me decía

Ua…
Baby, tu me matas
Ua…

¿Qué tu harás si te digo?
Mis fantasías contigo
Susurrado al oído
Te comienzas a calentar…

A solas quiero tenerte…

¿Qué tu harás si te digo?
Mis fantasías contigo
Susurrado al oído
Te comienzas a calentar…

Tú me dices y nos vamos
¿Qué nosotros esperamos?
Si los dos nos gustamos
Y las miradas no lo pueden negar

Letra de "Amantes de una Noche" - Natti Natasha ft. Bad Bunny

[Intro: Bad Bunny & Natti Natasha]
Yeeh, yeh, yeh, yeh
Yeeh, yeh, yeeeeh

[Puente: Bad Bunny & Natti Natasha]
Pasa una noche conmigo
Sé que tú no te asustas
Pero es que aquí estoy yo, ooh
Si quieres hoy me buscas

Oh-uh-oh-uh

[Coro: Natti Natasha]
Uoh na na na, uoh na na na eh
Amantes de una noche
Uoh na na na, uoh na na na oh
Tú te vienes conmigo

Uoh na na na, uoh na na na eh
Amantes de una noche
Uoh na na na, uoh na na na oh
Tú te vienes conmigo

[Verso 3: Bad Bunny]
A tu novio dile

[Pre-coro: Bad Bunny & Natti Natasha]

[Coro: Natti Natasha]
Uoh na na na, uoh na na na eh
Amantes de una noche
Uoh na na na, uoh na na na oh
Tú te vienes conmigo

Uoh na na na, uoh na na na eh
Amantes de una noche
Uoh na na na, uoh na na na oh
Tú te vienes conmigo

[Outro: Bad Bunny & Natti Natasha]
Yeh, yeh, yeh, yeeh
Bad Bunny baby

[Verse 1: The Weeknd]
Somebody said they saw you
The person you were kissing wasn't me
And I would never ask you
I just kept it to myself
[Chorus: The Weeknd]
I don't wanna know
If you're playin' me, keep it on the low
'Cause my heart can't take it anymore
And if you're creepin', please, don't let it show
Oh, baby, I don't wanna know
Oh-oh, oh-oh, ooh-woah
Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh

[Verse 2: The Weeknd]
Oh, yeah
I think about it when I hold you
When lookin' in your eyes, I can't believe
And I don't need to know the truth
Baby, keep it to yourself

[Chorus: The Weeknd]
I don't wanna know
If you're playin' me, keep it on the low
'Cause my heart can't take it anymore
And if you're creepin', please, don't let it show
Oh, baby, I don't wanna know

[Bridge: Mario Winans, The Weeknd, Both]
Did he touch you better than me? (Touch you better than me)
Did he watch you fall asleep? (Watch you fall asleep)
Did you show him all those things, that you used to do to me?

"SOFT LIVING" is taken from Jeff Rosenstock's new album, HELLMODE - out September 1, 2023.

Director: Bob Vielma
Producer: Ralph Botello
Additional Footage: Aja Pilapil
Thanks to Christina, Dan, Shilakes, Christian, okamigo, Jay, Mikey, Leah, Kris, Aaron, and Christine

Lyrics:
When you think of me
Do you see something inside me that
I could never see
Some amount of miles away
Daydreaming straight into the blaze?
Aaron Carter in a Target screamin’
“Is it a mistake?”

We watched the sunset dreamsmog
Shit out the doom fog
When this song comes on
Put all your clothes on
Count to ten and breathe
Drink some water
When your head starts spinnin’
I tried everything that was easy
Oh, it’s hard soft living

What’s it gonna take
To guide the brush fires to eradicate
Every single trace of these
Scumfuck white supremacist shitlords?
When this song comes on
Burn a police car
To just stay strong is hard
When all you can think of
Is how did we go so wrong?
How did we go so wrong?
How did we go so wrong?

Don’t wanna hold out for the end of the world
Don’t wanna hold out for the end of the world

We watched the sunset dreamsmog
Shit out the doom fog
When this song comes on
Turn all the lights on
Because it’s done
So clean up and try not to think of
How did we go so wrong?
How did we go so wrong?

I knew the day would come when someone would bring up Diddy’s former assistant Fonzworth Bentley and it’s once again Jaguar Wright coming through with the tea!

So Jaguar claims that Fonzworth was DIddy’s “concubine” and though Fonz is now a family man with two kids, Jaguar thinks Fonz lives in ATL for a reason…if you know what I mean.

Now, if you remember Fonz, he was that dapper-looking guy that Diddy made follow him everywhere holding a giant umbrella…

Fantastic Freaks, Cold Crush Brothers, DJ Grand Wizard Theodore (Live at Club Dixie in South Bronx)

Clip from 1983 film "Wild Style".....
The Source has called WILD STYLE "the best hip-hop movie of all time," and it's widely recognized as such worldwide. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted the film as one of the "10 Best Rock 'n' Roll Movies of All Time." Rolling Stone rates it #7 on its list of "The Top 25 Music DVDs of All Time," noting, "you'll find exhilarating and rare footage of Fab Five Freddy, Grandmaster Flash and all the spray-painters, rappers and breakers who helped turn hip-hop from a South Bronx musical style into a cultural phenomenon." This seminal visual record of the origins of hip-hop culture now celebrates its quarter-century mark with the special WILD STYLE 25th ANNIVERSARY EDITION from Rhino.

The WILD STYLE 25th ANNIVERSARY EDITION DVD presents a digital transfer from the original 16mm film, a 5.1 audio mix and new commentary from director Charlie Ahearn and hip-hop icon and former graffiti artist Fab 5 Freddy. In addition to the groundbreaking feature film, captured on location in the South Bronx in 1982 - including great subway and train yard shots - the WILD STYLE DVD is now expanded with new interviews with Ahearn, Fab 5 Freddy, Busy Bee and Lady Pink. Also featured are a previously unissued mini-documentary with footage from the 20th Anniversary WILD STYLE concert, a "Bongo Barbershop" DJ battle in the Bronx, previously unreleased photos and other bonus extras.

Narratively, WILD STYLE follows the exploits of maverick tagger Zoro (real life graffiti artist Lee Quinones), whose work attracts the attention of an East Village art fancier (Patti Astor) who commissions him to paint the stage for a giant Rapper's Convention. A documentation of the earliest days of hip-hop in the boroughs of New York, everything in WILD STYLE is authentic - the story, style, characters, and most of the actors, are drawn from the community. It features a pantheon of old-school pioneers, including Grandmaster Flash, Fab Five Freddy, Busy Bee, The Cold Crush Brothers and more.

In its chronicling the influential South Bronx youth culture of the day - before it became globally known - WILD STYLE shows many important hip-hop personalities in their milieu before they went on to reap national acclaim. Chief among these is Fab 5 Freddy, who hosted Yo! MTV Raps from its inception. Director Ahearn credits Freddy for the film's vision of hip-hop as a unified culture. WILD STYLE may not have been the first movie featuring rappers, but it was the first to link graffiti, break dancing, DJing, freestyle MCing and the emergence of the hip-hop nation. It culminates in one of the greatest hip-hop parties in history.

After seeing Kool Herc play at a party in the Bronx in 1974, Fisher decided to become a DJ, and purchase the necessary equipment the next day. As "Grandmaster Caz", he teamed up with his best friend, DJ Disco Wiz (Luis Cedeno). He later would team up with JDL (Jerry Dee Lewis) and form The Notorious Two. Caz began incorporating rhymes with his DJing and become known as the first DJ to do so. In 1978 he formed a group called the Mighty Force with Whipper Whip (James Whipper) and Dot-A-Rock (Darryl Mason). In 1979 DJ Charlie Chase (Carlos Mandes) from The Cold Crush Brothers asked Caz to help audition MCs for his group which was really a way for Charlie Chase to trick Caz into joining the Cold Crush Brothers. JDL, Whipper Whip, and Dot-A-Rock were also part of The Cold Crush Brothers before Whipper Whip and Dot-A-Rock left to join The Fantastic Five.
The Cold Crush Brothers began building a reputation in the burgeoning hip hop scene in New York, mostly for Caz's routines and lyrical ability. Around this time, record mogul Joe Robinson, husband of Sylvia Robinson, and, along with his wife, co-founder of Sugar Hill Records, happened to hear part-time club bouncer and manager of the Cold Crush Brothers, Big Bank Hank (Henry Jackson) rapping to a tape of Grandmaster Caz while working at a pizzeria. She asked him be the third member of a group that she was putting together called the Sugar Hill Gang. Hank accepted and, since he wasn't an MC himself, he borrowed a book of rhymes from Grandmaster Caz.[1] Caz figured that if Hank was picked up by a record label, then he would help Caz and the Cold Crush get a contract in turn.
Hank would use Caz's lyrics in the song "Rapper's Delight" which would become a huge hit in 1979 and is the first hip hop single to land on the top 40 charts. This was also the first time the term rapper was used to describe a person who is rhyming to music on the mic, such people had been known only as MC on the hip hop scene at the time. Caz would never receive any credit or compensation for the rhymes that he contributed.[2]
In 1982, The Cold Crush Brothers were featured in the movie Wild Style and would also be on the soundtrack with Grandmaster Caz doing the movie theme song "South Bronx Subway Rap". Caz released some records as a solo artist in the late 1980s

Lyrics -
The special way the hunt began and ended with London on my mind
The nights from days and letters penned in earnest with heartstrings sent unsigned
In a round about sway
Not a word
Not a sound
All’s forgiven anyway
Haven’t even slept so I’m quiet as I’m kept and more or less concussed for years
But I can’t shake your body so I shake mine instead when it’s time to percuss
In a round about sway
Not a word
Not a sound
All’s forgiven anyway
Names escaped run amok with bottle caps for eyes
The nights from days ferried east and ended with no one getting wise
On the Champs-Elysees on no rest you fluoresce
All’s forgiven for forgotten men and women more or less
In a round about sway
Not a word
Not a sound
All’s forgiven by the way
Men and women it’s time to percuss
