lyrics:
I wish I had help from a deeper force
Some kind of meta angel
Then they could whisper all the answers
And maybe life would just slow down
I don’t think that I’ll make it on my own
I got voices in my head
(In my, in my, in my, in my, in my)
Telling me that I won’t make it far
(In my, in my, in my, in my, in my)
Mirrors singing in my face
Where’d you go, where’d you go?
Throw in the fire
Ego in the fire
I’ve got a love for desire
I’ve got pain for desire (I need a meta angel)
But when I’m winning I’m a flier
Soprano in the choir
I got a love for desire
It gets higher & higher
(Some kind of meta angel)
That makes it sound so easy
A pretty picture with a quote
I get confused
with what I really want
I got voices in my head
(In my, in my, in my, in my, in my)
Telling me that I won’t make it far
(In my, in my, in my, in my, in my)
Mothers calling everyday
(In my, in my, in my, in my, in my)
Where’d you go, where’d you go
Throw in the fire
Ego in the fire
I’ve got a love for desire
I’ve got pain for desire (I need a meta angel)
But when I’m winning I’m a flier
Soprano in the choir (soprano in the choir)
I got a love for desire
It gets higher & higher
(Some kind of meta angel)
In my, in my, in my, in my, in my

lyrics:
i just wanna go outside
and feel the sun is shining on my better side
i’ve not always had my way
but I forgive my sins yeah baby that’s ok
jealousy you put on me
you’re in your feelings way to deep
jealousy you put on me
that’s why your mind’s out, mind’s out, why?
jealousy you put on me
you’re in your feelings way to deep
jealousy you put on me
that’s why your mind’s out, mind’s out why
girly take it easy
take it slow
you follow me everywhere that I go
i gave you the keys to my soul
and you still don’t believe baby I know
girl i’m sick and tired of your drama
don’t let me take you back to your mama
20 missed calls cause i’m not home
what you gonna do only god knows
jealousy you put on me
you’re in your feelings way to deep
jealousy you put on me
that’s why your mind’s out, mind’s out why
jealousy you put on me
you’re in your feelings way to deep
jealousy you put on me
that’s why your mind’s out, mind’s out why
waves of motion moving in my life
waves of motion moving in my life
i want it all for my life
all the things I like
i’m living true
knowing that i’m better off without your blue
i just wanna go outside
and feel the sun is shining on my better side
i’ve not always had my way
but i forgive my sins yeah baby that’s ok
jealousy you put on me
you’re in your feelings way to deep
jealousy you put on me
that’s why your mind’s out, mind’s out why?
jealousy you put on me
you’re in your feelings way to deep
jealousy you put on me

POPICANA

POP MUSIC. POP CULTURE. POP LIFESTYLE.

POPICANA IS THE ULTIMATE DESTINATION FOR EVERYTHING POP.

FKA Twigs spent the majority of her childhood alone. In the tradition of geniuses everywhere, she was isolated from her peers because of her widely different interests and wise-beyond-her-years perspective. Although, Twigs was isolated in more ways than one.
Born on 16 January 1988 as Tahliah Debrett Barnett in the small town of Tewkesbury in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Twigs was the only person of colour in her whole school up until sixth form (or grades 11 & 12 for Americans).
Not only did this naturally add to her feelings of isolation, Twigs was actively bullied because of it, saying in an interview:
“people said horrible things about something I had no control of, which was tough,”
While the other kids were off playing tag in the playground, Twigs was sneaking off to the bottom of the field imagining pulling herself up a solitary spider thread. In Twig’s words,
“If I kept following that, I thought to myself, it’s gonna lead to a door and behind that door is where I should be. I was just naturally inclined this way. I was always really creative.”

ANGRA - Vida Seca (feat. Lenine) (Official Music Video) Hotney 9 Streams • 3 years ago

Taken off the album "Cycles Of Pain" (November 3rd, 2023)
🎧 Stream, get it here: https://angra.afr.link/cyclesofpainYT

Guitarist Rafael Bittencourt explains: "'Vida Seca' means a lot to us in ANGRA because it expresses what we are: a metal band from Brazil. So the song is a combination of prog elements with Brazilian vibes. It is tough to create something meaningful and deep for the people without going deep into ourselves, and going deep also means reaching and accepting my background. I know it sounds odd for many traditional metal fans, but it wouldn't be honest from my side if I wasn't making music inspired by my surroundings, the people, the habits, the sounds. The song and the video 'Vida Seca' both have a little bit of all of that in a poetic yet truthful way, disclosing the discrepancy of Brazilian social dystopia. It's certainly one of my favourites of the album."

"'Vida Seca' is my favourite track on »Cycles Of Pain« and one of the songs I'm most proud of. It starts with a strong Brazilian accent that develops into a more progressive sound. The dynamics within the song help tell the story of the lyrics, taking you through the character's journey of vulnerability, growth, self-doubt and acceptance. We are extremely privileged to have the amazing, multi Latin Grammy winning LENINE singing the first part in Portuguese. As someone born in the Northeast of Brazil, a region where poverty and underdevelopment is rampant, he brings authenticity to the song, giving the character a legitimate voice. Lyrically, 'Vida Seca' talks about a child who's born in poverty, a situation all too common in Brazil and many other countries. Despite the hardship of his childhood, throughout his life he ends up having opportunities and ultimately reaches a better condition. It's a view on meritocracy and how unfair it is to expect the same level of achievement from people with very different starting conditions," states bass player Felipe Andreoli.

Lyrics:
VIDA SECA

Aurora fria, a lua devolvia o sol
Prum mundo tão real
O corpo em pé e a alma embaixo do lençol
Procurando forças
Pra chorar
Olhe Deus por seu filho pecador

A vida seca, não havia espaço pra ilusão
Brincava de lutar
E vivendo entre o caos e a confusão
Eu nunca achei o meu lugar

O sol nasceu para iluminar a escuridão
Tudo mudou

Another word of wisdom to save the day
Another life to know
There is a universe of endless possibilities
Another chance to grow

Found my way through the wind and the cold
I lie awake, as the gods of the world take control

Lost in the wide horizon
Set my gaze to the distant past
And hide from the glistening blinding light
Have I lost to a higher power?
Try my best just to comprehend
And the hope flows like water through my hands
Then I wane for a moment and I
Surrender

Talk to me cause my pride is crawling
Answer me, I am losing all control?
The angels are falling
Comfort me when my faith is dying
Follow me to the end of time, you know
The angels are falling
The angels are calling

Lost in the wide horizon
Set my gaze to the distant past
And I hide from the glistening blinding light
Have I lost to a higher power?
Try my best just to comprehend
And the hope flows like water through my hands
Like the clouds fading out of my mind
I just cherish the moment and smile

Lyrics:
This poison, this poison, it kills me
I’ve been around too long, it don’t assist me
This poison, this poison, it kills me
And when it goes inside it’s gonna make you drop
So, stop f*ckin around

Some things will never change
Think it’s alright, thinking it’s safe
Now figured out, we’ve been around
Now it’s too late
You’ve never been sick
We’re depraved, it feels amazing
The ticking of time, another decline, stargazing
Go down in this world, I can make it
It’s a mofo this moment
The scene is just fading
Cancel all you go if you really want to break it
F*ck it all, go out and celebrate

When I was a ghost I forgot that I tried every single attempt at being alive
Things, they change the most when you forget that we tried every single attempt at being alive
Bring the pain

Innovate the game
Take it back, take it back, is what they all say
Activate the mainframe
This is not arcade sh*t

My worst enemies think the best of me
This poison, this poison, it kills me
My worst enemies think the best of me
This poison, this poison, it kills me

When I was a ghost I forgot that I tried every single attempt at being alive
Things, they change the most when you forget that we tried every single attempt at being alive

Rotating stairs
It’s too much to bear
It’s f*cking me up, cause the devil is near
Spiraling down now
About to pass out
My vision turns blurry
I cry without sound
Nailing me to the cross of suffering
Death smiles at us, all we can do is smile back

When I was a ghost
When I was a ghost I forgot that I tried every single attempt at being alive

This poison, this poison, it kills me
This poison, this poison, it kills me
Like a kiss on the wrist dressed in razorblades

Coi Leray | Angie Martinez IRL Hotney 4 Streams • 3 years ago

In this week's episode of the Angie Martinez IRL Podcast, Angie sits down with rapper, singer, and songwriter Coi Leray.

Coi Leray opens up about her childhood marked by her parents' separation to her rise as a music sensation.

She shares the impact of her parents' separation by shedding light on her father, Benzino, artist and founder of the Source Magazine, and her mother, his teenage love who struggled to raise four kids on her own after the split.

At 16, Coi made a bold move, leaving home, quitting school, and taking on a full-time job. This pivotal decision laid the foundation for her incredible work ethic, which has propelled her to success in the music industry.

However, after the release and success of her hit song "No More Parties," Coi Leray faced the harsh realities of the world. It was the first time that the typically confident Coi found herself questioning her worth. She grappled with doubts, asking herself if she was truly good enough, if her voice resonated, if her appearance matched societal standards, and well… whether she resembled “a boy.”

However, her confidence still rules. Coi is on an ongoing journey to silence the noise and discover genuine joy. With the guidance of a life coach, the support of her amazing friends, and a strong focus on her faith, she's actively learning to filter out negativity and embrace the positive aspects of her life.

Coi Leray is not just an artist. She’s a walking brand, and as we dare say… an icon in the making?! Don’t miss this episode!

Lyrics:
Oh you love it
But something tells me you're afraid of nothing
Oh you're stunning
But let me know that I'm worth the attention, oh

There's about a sixty-six percent chance
That you would let it all be over so fast
Maybe it's the principles of your past
That let it get to you, get to you

Cause if it's getting all up under your skin
Baby it's a sign you ain't been livin'
And everyday I'm out here showing you how
But you still won't let it out

Tell em baby
Cause I love when you get down
Cause shit gets crazy
When you make that sound

Cause you're that lady
Who doesn't fuck around
(So don't don't don't don't don't don't)
Don't be afraid to get loud

Tell me baby
Cause I love when we get down
Cause shit gets crazy
When we make that sound

So do it safely
Don't you fuck around
(Don't don't don't don't don't don't)
Don't be afraid to get loud

Please, please, don't be so greedy
You understand me when you're underneath me
So kick back
And say the word when you can really feel that

There's about a sixty-six percent chance
That you would let it all be over so fast
Maybe it's the principles of your past
That let it get to you, get to you

Cause if it's getting all up under your skin
Baby it's a sign you ain't been livin'
And everyday I'm out here showing you how
Don't be afraid to get loud

Tell em baby
