Lyrics:
(Satisfaction guaranteed or take your love back)
(Satisfaction guaranteed or take your love back)

Ohhh, I'll give you something good, yes I will
Give you something good, yeah
Yeah yeah yeah

You don't have to believe me when I tell you
That my love is so good
And I know you're not bein treated
Like I know you should

No, I don't wanna sound like I'm conceited
I'm the one you always needed
I tell ya what, I'll make you bet
I'll give you lovin' you will never forget, no

(Satisfaction guaranteed or take your love back)
I'll take it back, no no!
(Satisfaction guaranteed or take your love back)
I'll give ya somthin good
Yes I will, give you somethin' good, yeah yeah

Put your arms around, ahh baby please
Sit back and just relax and leave the rest to me
You ain't gonna to be nervous, no no
I'm gonna give you the best of service
I tell ya what, I'll make you bet
I'll give you love you will never forget, no
(Satisfaction guaranteed or take your love back)
I'm gonna give you love right now
(Satisfaction guaranteed or take your love back)
Satisfaction guaranteed!
(Satisfaction guaranteed or take your love back)

You ain't got no reason to be nervous
I'm gonna give you the best of service
I tell ya what, I'll make you bet
I'll give you love you will never forget, no

(Satisfaction guaranteed or take your love back)
I'm gonna guarantee my love right now, right now
(Satisfaction guaranteed or take your love back)
(Satisfaction guaranteed or take your love back)

Lyrics:
Turn off the lights and light a candle
Tonight I'm in a romantic mood, yeah

Let's take a shower, shower together
I'll wash your body and you'll wash mine, yeah
Rub me down in some hot oils, baby, yeah
And I'll do the same thing to you

Just turn off the lights, come to me
Girl, I wanna give you a special treat, you're so sweet
Turn off the lights and let's get cozy
See, you're the only one in the world that I need

Battle of the Bands, Live at the Newport Jazz Festival 1968 in De Doelen Rotterdam.
François Boland (6 November 1929 – 12 August 2005) was a classically trained Belgian jazz composer and pianist.
He first gained notice in 1949 and worked with Belgian jazz greats like Bobby Jaspar, and in 1955 he joined Chet Baker's quintet. Moving to the US, he began arranging for Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Woody Herman and Dizzy Gillespie, and set up an octet with drummer Kenny Clarke before returning to Europe and becoming Kurt Edelhagen's chief arranger. In 1961, building from a rhythm section featuring Clarke, Jimmy Woode and himself, he founded The Kenny Clarke-Francy Boland Big Band, which rapidly became one of the most noted Big Bands assembled outside the United States. After it broke up in 1972 he concentrated on composing.

On April 29, 2022 we commemorate Toots Thielemans' 100th birthday!

Jean-Baptiste Frédéric Isidor, Baron Thielemans (29 April 1922 – 22 August 2016), known professionally as Toots Thielemans, was a Belgian jazz musician. He was mostly known for his chromatic harmonica playing, as well as his guitar, whistling skills, and composing. According to jazz historian Ted Gioia, his most important contribution was in "championing the humble harmonica", which Thielemans made into a "legitimate voice in jazz". He eventually became the "preeminent" jazz harmonica player.

His first professional performances were with Benny Goodman's band when they toured Europe in 1949 and 1950. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1951, becoming a citizen in 1957. From 1953 to 1959 he played with George Shearing, and then led his own groups on tours in the U.S. and Europe. In 1961 he recorded and performed live one of his own compositions, "Bluesette", which featured him playing guitar and whistling. In the 1970s and 1980s, he continued touring and recording, appearing with musicians such as Oscar Peterson, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Bill Evans, Dizzy Gillespie, Kenny Werner, Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, Mina Mazzini, Elis Regina, Quincy Jones, George Shearing, Natalie Cole, Billy Joel, Paul Simon and Paquito D'Rivera.

This performance of Toots Thielemans with Dutch pianist Bert van den Brink was broadcast in the TROS tv program 'TROS SESJUN on 30 December 1998.

Les McCann Trio with Eddie Harris & Jimmy Owens - July 10, 1988 - World Of Jazz Hotney 3 Ansichten • 3 Jahre vor

Leslie Coleman McCann (born September 23, 1935) is an American jazz pianist and vocalist.
Winning a Navy singing contest led to an appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. McCann's main career began in the early 1960s when he recorded as a pianist with his trio for Pacific Jazz.
In 1969, Atlantic released Swiss Movement, album recorded with saxophonist Eddie Harris and trumpeter Benny Bailey at that year's Montreux Jazz Festival.
The album contained the song "Compared to What", and both the album and the single reached the Billboard pop charts. "Compared to What" criticized the Vietnam War. The song was written by Eugene McDaniels years earlier and recorded and released as a ballad by McCann in 1966 on his album Les McCann Plays the Hits. Roberta Flack's version appeared as the opening track on her debut album First Take (1969).

After the success of Swiss Movement, McCann, primarily a piano player, emphasized his vocals. He became an innovator in soul jazz, merging jazz with funk, soul, and world rhythms. He was among the first jazz musicians to include electric piano, clavinet, and synthesizer in his music.
This performance of the Les McCann Trio with Eddie Harris & Jimmy Owens was filmed at the North Sea Jazz Festival, The Hague, The Netherlands, on July 10, 1988

"It's a Man's Man's Man's World" is a song by James Brown and Betty Jean Newsome. Brown recorded it on February 16, 1966 in a New York City studio and released it as a single later that year. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard R&B chart and No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its title is a word play on the 1963 comedy film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.
This is the exiting original long live version of this song as performed by James Brown and the JBs at the second performance at the North Sea Jazz Festival on 11 July 1981, held in the Congress center in The Hague, the Netherlands. It is also availbale on this channel in a short version.

This second concert is extraordinary and sees a James Brown that really gives everything to get the audience to their feet. The first concert that we published on 5 October 2017 which was recorded by AVRO Television earlier that 11th July 1981 saw a lame audience that did not know how to react. In this fantastic video we see what James Brown could do with any audience.
Also this concert has a different tracklisting including a sensational 'It's A Man's Man's Man's World' in which he pays tribute to great artists who died such as Elvis Presley, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and especially to John Lennon, who died some 6 months earlier.

Stan Getz (born Stanley Gayetski; February 2, 1927 – June 6, 1991) was an American jazz saxophonist. Playing primarily the tenor saxophone, Getz was known as "The Sound" because of his warm, lyrical tone, his prime influence being the wispy, mellow timbre of his idol, Lester Young. Coming to prominence in the late 1940s with Woody Herman's big band, Getz is described by critic Scott Yanow as "one of the all-time great tenor saxophonists"
Getz performed in bebop and cool jazz groups. Influenced by João Gilberto and Antônio Carlos Jobim, he popularized bossa nova in America with the hit single "The Girl from Ipanema" (1964).

At the North Sea Jazz Festival Stan Getz played with four young musicians. The Line-up of his Quintet is:

Stan Getz (soprano sax, tenor sax),
Chuck Loeb (guitar),
