'The Virgin Tour' VHS was released on 13 November 1985 and contains the live concert performance from 25 May 1985, filmed at Cobo Arena, Detroit.

Here is Madonna's performance of Holiday.

The complete song-list, in order, was: Dress You Up, Holiday, Into The Groove, Everybody, Angel (this performance was not included on the VHS), Gambler, Borderline (this performance was not included on the VHS), Lucky Star, Crazy For You, Over and Over, Burning Up (this performance was not included on the VHS), Like a Virgin, and Material Girl.

'The Virgin Tour' was the top-selling music video-cassette for 1986.

The video was certified two-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipment of 50,000 copies.

To date, the VHS has never been re-released on DVD format.

Alyson Williams (born in New York City, NY) is an R&B singer.

The daughter of bandleader / trumpeter Bobby Booker, she began her career by singing background vocals for various artists including, Curtis Hairston, Melba Moore ("Love's Coming At Ya"), B. B. & Q. Band, Cashflow, Unlimited Touch, Bobby Brown and Barbara Mitchell before joining the group High Fashion, which also featured Meli'sa Morgan. After they disbanded, Alyson sang with the group The Affair before moving onto a solo career.

Her first single, "Yes We Can Can", was released on the Def Jam label in 1987. At the label, she established herself as an in demand vocalist, duetting with many of her label mates including Chuck Stanley ("Make You Mine Tonight") and Oran "Juice" Jones ("How To Love Again").

Her first album release and the first R&B female singer signed to Def Jam, she released the album Raw in 1989. The album produced the singles "My Love is So Raw", featuring female rapper Nikki D,and "Sleep Talk". In addition, the single "Just Call My Name" was a hit on the Billboard R&B charts reaching number #7. The song, picked up by many "Quiet storm" formats, is now considered a cult classic and is still played. The album included a duet with the Blue Magic vocalist Ted Mills on "We're Gonna Make It". Her single "I Need Your Lovin'" was also a #8 success in the UK, as well as another R&B hit for her.

Alyson also recorded with Tashan on the track "Do You Wanna Know", taken from his On The Horizon outing. She additionally toured with him in the United Kingdom. In 1991, Alyson recorded "She's Not Your Fool" for the soundtrack to the movie Livin' Large. The track was included upon her 1991 self-titled album.

The third song in this Tiny Desk Concert, explains the jocose pianist Robert Glasper, first appeared on one of his trio's albums of acoustic, instrumental jazz. It was called "F.T.B." then, though it later acquired words and a singer and was retitled "Gonna Be Alright" on the record which won the 2013 Grammy for Best R&B Album. That in itself provides a sense of the worlds to which Glasper has access; depending on your point of view, he either freely traverses or explodes those boundaries.

Glasper has released two albums of what you might call neo-soul, or maybe organic R&B, featuring a core band (The Robert Glasper Experiment) and guest stars like Erykah Badu, Lupe Fiasco and Norah Jones. Black Radio and last year's sequel, Black Radio 2, aren't heard much on "urban" radio, but the point is that they ought to be. Glasper builds his songs with old-school values: singers and MCs who don't need software to carry a melody, improvising within a band, hand-building beats and vamps with live instruments.

That's what you see at the Tiny Desk. "Trust" features Marsha Ambrosius, formerly of the duo Floetry, and it's a good example of the Black Radio concept in raw, unpasteurized form. The middle tune is an ad hoc improvisation, and a good example of how Glasper and his Experiment have so dialed in their communication that they can plant seeds of noise and harvest blooms of music. By the time "F.T.B" (a.k.a. "Gonna Be Alright") rolls around, the mood is familiar and at ease. It's the sound of a band whose members speak many musical languages, but decide to converse in one that feels like its native tongue.
