We have already made a similar video about what happened to the members of Death Row Records and it’s time to find out what happened to the artists from Bad Boy Records. The stories are absolutely crazy, someone threw a chair at P. Diddy so they could leave, someone went to prison and someone became religious. Anyway there’s a lot of interesting stuff to cover! Let's go!

Few genres have had the lasting impact of punk. 1976 is one of those seismic dividing lines in popular music. A history destroying year zero. The point after which everything changed. It was the year that The Ramones debut was released, the year that the first singles from the UK Punk scene were set loose upon an unprepared public. And while the punks wanted to remove themselves from the past, burn all that had come before, nothing happens within a vacuum. These bands didn't appear out of nowhere with the key principles of the genre locked in place. This innovative minimalist, three-chords and the truth, turbo-powered rebellious music had to have precedent. There were other artists that lead up to this era-defining moment in music that are either forgotten, ignored or not given credit. This is how Punk became punk.

Charlie Parker, also known as bird, is a legendary jazz musician who has influenced many of today's genres and helped develop the genre bebop. Bebop is a subgenre of jazz that is recognized as being difficult to dance to, but Bird said he didn't care if people danced to his music, because he was an artist.
LA Buckner interviews jazz saxophonist Bobby Watson and sound archive director Chuck Haddix. LA spotlights the innovative style of Kansas City's own Charlie Parker and tracks down his influence on bebop, jazz and the rest of the musical world.

If there’s any genre that has diamonds built into its very DNA, it’s hip-hop. Since the days of thick gold rope chains and Slick Rick’s early displays of decadence through to the logic-defying creations that Ghostface used to sport and the dawn of the bling era, transferring those record sales into record-setting jewelry purchases is nothing new in the game. In truth, it’s become such an accepted part of the culture that even before an MC has truly accomplished anything, the lure of the diamond district can be too strong to resist.
