K-Pop sensations BTS perform their hit song Permission to Dance in a video produced at the United Nations. The video accompanies the bands remarks at the SDG Moment and is meant to draw their audiences attention to the importance of Keeping the Promise of the Sustainable Development Goals and to inspire action.

What is your promise? - https://un.cheerity.com/

-------
The SDG Moment serves to place an annual spotlight on the Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) and will be held at the beginning of the United Nation’s General Assembly’s High-Level Week. It takes place as the world experiences a deeply uneven response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which risks creating a two-tier recovery with significant implications for the advancement of the SDGs, especially in developing countries.

Convened by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the Moment will provide world
leaders with a platform to showcase the bold plans, actions and solutions that are needed to end the COVID-19 pandemic and set the world on course towards achieving the SDGs. Held in advance of major meetings on food systems, climate, energy, jobs and social protection, the SDG Moment event is expected to build the momentum needed to deliver on the Decade of Action and Keep the Promise of the SDGs.

Two guitars. Two voices. Fifteen years since the duo last stopped by the Tiny Desk, not much has changed in how they present themselves, right down to their preferred guitar tuner. This is how it's been, with some variation, for over three decades, in the timeless music of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings.

And, yet, everything changes when you listen deeper and live longer. Behind the Desk, facing each other, the ballad "Empty Trainload of Sky" achieves an auditory illusion as their guitars chug and vocal harmonies swirl surrealistic imagery across a classic American canvas. "Lawman" could be about a corrupt politician a hundred years ago or yesterday. "Hashtag," a tribute to the late Guy Clark, is, at turns, tragicomic ("Singers like you and I are only news when we die") and existential ("When will we become ourselves?"). These songs, from last year's Woodland, endure change with grace, leaning into small moments in order to make the outsized ones seem surmountable.

Welch and Rawlings close with "Revelator," a mystic brew of apocalyptic prophecy and personal history that marked a significant leveling-up for the duo when it was originally released in 2001. Behind the Desk, their simmering harmonies bloom as much as they wither, only to burst through Rawlings' guitar solos that range from reflective to ravaging. As the song ends, Welch and Rawlings bend toward their mics — and each other — not only to let the last chord ring out, but to let the feeling reverberate.

Mystical, whose real name is Michael Tyler, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to raping a woman in his Louisiana home in 2022. He won't be eligible for parole, but he will be granted time served. In 2004, Mystikal became a life-long registered sex offender and was sentenced to six years behind bars after a separate sexual battery conviction. Pre-order "Dealing With Demons I" here: https://smarturl.it/DealingWithDemonsI

out October 2nd

Frontman Dez Fafara says about “Iona” and the demons that inspired the track:
"Iona is unlike any other DEVILDRIVER song we’ve put out. From the frantic verses to the haunting chorus, this song is another move forward to push our sound and the listener's ears into the fray! The chorus, “she carries a black rose, effigy from a story closed", tells the story of the long dead ghost of Iona and her obsession with death represented by the black roses in her hands – each one the soul of someone she’s taken from this life on a lonely dark road, assimilating their souls into black roses, which she carries for eternity.
This theme relates to myself and “Dealing With Demons” in that, often times, we as people have a hard time “letting go” of things. This can be applied to relationships, death, and so on. Iona carrying the black roses symbolizes her inability to move on – always seeking revenge. The past is exactly that – the past – it’s important to let go and not be stuck in a perpetual loop of living in it."

Song original version: We're Going on a Bear Hunt - Michael Rosen

Sticky mud? Rushing water? Gotta go through it in the comfortably capable 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2-row, 3-row or electrified 4xe. What a beautiful day! #Jeep There's only one.

For 80 years, the Jeep® name has been indelibly associated with freedom, authenticity, adventure, and passion. These are vehicles for “dreamers and doers” - forging extraordinary, uncommon bonds between themselves and their owners because adventure is found in every Jeep® vehicle’s DNA. The Jeep® badge stands for more than a brand. In truth, it’s a badge of honor.

The Music: The song in the commercial is called “We’re Going On A Bear Hunt” and the original version is by Michael Rosen. Here he is going through the lyrics as read from his children’s book which was published in 1989.
