Jennifer Hudson's audition

What happens when you ask Dennis Chambers, Larnell Lewis, Hannah Welton, and Aaron Spears to shed over the same song? Well, you're in luck because that's exactly what happened!

Throughout 2022, we had the pleasure of working with some of the best funk drummers in the world, and we decided to put together an incredible mashup of them all playing along to the same song. You can see how each drummer approaches the song differently with their own unique style.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1: Scarface]
Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta
A real gangsta-ass nigga plays his cards right
A real gangsta-ass nigga never runs his fucking mouth
'Cause real gangsta-ass niggas don't start fights
And niggas always gotta high cap
Showing all his boys how he shot 'em
But real gangsta-ass niggas don't flex nuts
'Cause real gangsta-ass niggas know they got 'em
Now, everything is cool in the mind of a gangsta
'Cause gangsta-ass niggas think deep
Up three-sixty-five, ayo, 24/7
'Cause real gangsta-ass niggas don't sleep
And all I gotta say to you, wannabe, gonnabe
Cocksucking, pussy-eating pranksters
I : When the fire dies down, what the fuck you gonna do?
Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta

[Verse 2: Bushwick Bill]
Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta
Feeding the poor and helping out with their bills
Although I was born in Jamaica
Now, I'm in the U.S. making deals
Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta
I mean, one that you don't really know
Riding around town in a drop-top Benz
Hitting switches in my black '64
Now, gangsta-ass niggas come in all shapes and colors
Some got killed in the past
But this gangsta here was a smart one
Started living for the Lord and I'll last
Now, all I gotta say to you
Wannabe, gonnabe, pussy-eating, cocksucking pranksters:
When the shit jumps off, what the fuck you gonna do?
Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta

[Verse 3: Scarface]
Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta
A real gangsta-ass nigga knows the play
The real gangsta-ass niggas get the flyest of the bitches
Ask that gangsta-ass nigga Lil J
Now, bitches look at gangsta-ass niggas like a stop sign
And play the role of Little Miss Sweet
But catch the bitch all alone, get the digits, take her out
And end up hitting the ass with the meat
'Cause gangsta-ass niggas be the game-players
And everything's quiet in the clique
A gangsta-ass nigga pulls the trigger
And his partners in the posse ain't telling off shit
Real gangsta-ass niggas don't talk much
All you hear is the black from the gun blast
And real gangsta-ass niggas don't run for shit
Cuz real gangsta-ass niggas can't run fast
Now when you in the free world talkin' shit do the shit
Hit the pen and let a mothafucka shank ya
But niggas like myself kick back and peep game
Cuz damn it feels good to be a gangsta

("And now, a word from the President.")

[Verse 4 - J. Prince]
Damn it feels good to be a gangsta
Getting voted in to the White House
Everything looking good to the people of the world
But the Mafia family is my boss
So every now and then I owe a favor getting down
Like letting a big drug shipment through
And send 'em to the poor community
So we can bust you know who
So voters of the world keep supporting me
And I promise to take you very far
Other leaders better not upset me
Or I'll send a million troops to die at war
To all you Republicans, that helped me win
I sincerely like to thank you
’Cause now I got the world swinging from my nuts
And damn it feels good to be a gangsta

Today Karol G dropped her new album, ‘Mañana Será Bonito,’ and to celebrate La Bichota herself is taking us through some of her favorite fashion moments. Even though her hair color and fashion sense changes with every new hit, from ‘Tusa’ to ‘Gatúbela’ to ‘Provenza’, one source of inspiration remains the same: her love for mermaids. The Colombian megastar shows us exactly what she loves and hates about her style evolution by drawing on photos of herself starting as young as four years old.

Though Dave's voice was a little off tune, I still love Depeche Mode. They are the icon of electronic music history.

- Update 2: About Dave’s voice. I don’t worry at all as I watched their performance on TV shows recently and he could still nail each song. So I assume it was issue with in-ear monitors which doesn’t provide enough feedback to his ear so he wasn’t sure about the tune. What’s your opinion?

- update: I may never understand what DM means to all of you and I want to say thank you for all the warm words! I grew up in 90s but I was very into bands in 80s. I got to know DM from a documentary movie about Joy Division (well it was called Synth Britannia, need to refresh my memory), and "New Life" was the opening song of the movie. I was hit by the melody, which brought up the feeling of hope from the “shabby” London streets. I knew it was the band coming to my life at the right time.

The crowd was very very great yesterday and people were swinging, dancing along with the music. I was sitting far away but everyone around me was so engaged. Hope you enjoy it in my video too!

PS: I've done quite a lot of recording work so no need to worry about my arm! I have a small tripod in hand and that makes me feel nothing if I hold it all the time. I will still make good video recordings and re-master the sound to bring concert to life (fighting heavy bass and surfacing the vocal). Stay tuned!

Lyrics:

Act a fool you better watch out (Uh-huh)
Hot shit be ringin the cops out (Come On)
Street niggas is ringin them shots out
Short circuits blacken the blocks out
Now open up the garage and pull the drops out
Rockin the fur coat bringin the blue fox out
Diamonds light up the block runnin the blue rocks out (Uh)
Wylin till all of my crew knocked out (Come On)
Get yo' ass up on the floor (Huh!)
Throw ya hands if you wan't some more (Ho!!!)
Baby, we'll leave your crotch out
And peep the way we be blowin them spots out
Come on, look how we got 'em ready to act out
Girl, I'm ready to give it twistin your back out (Let's go)
Drink yack till a nigga fallin out
Flat on his back now watch a nigga crawlin out, talk to me

I said Busta (What's up son?)
Leave them girl rollin....And it look like (Come on)
They asses is swollen (And they ass gettin big now)
But if your man baby sittin, then what you gon' say
(What we gon' tell 'em man?)
We gon' tell that nigga (Pass the Courvoisier)
We gon' tell that brotha (Pass the Courvoisier)
Everybody sing it now {Pass the Courvoisier}
Everybody sing it now {Pass the Courvoisier}
Waah oooooooooooo oh!!

Interview recorded on Monday, July 10th in Los Angeles, CA

"Barbie" is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movies of the year. At the end of last year, Finneas asked Billie Eilish to make a song for the movie after a conversation with Greta Gerwig and Mark Ronson. Now, the song, "What Was I Made For?" is ready to be released.

Billie Eilish and Zane Lowe sit down in the theater to discuss the making of her song, "What Was I Made For?", which was created specifically for the blockbuster of the summer, but is also somehow incredibly personal. Billie opens up about her experience being involved in the movie, her feelings about songwriting for film and TV, and the childhood connection to Barbie that makes this a "full circle" moment.
