As the “Queen of Tejano Music,” Selena Quintanilla-Perez was Latin icon, breaking down gender barriers in a traditionally male-dominated genre while using her voice and distinct sense of style to influence and inspire millions. Prior to her tragic death, the young artist took home the Tejano Music Award for Female Vocalist of The Year a total of nine times. Her albums are some of the best selling Latin albums in the United States.
When her former fan club president and friend, Yolanda Saldívar, killed her in March 1995, it sent shockwaves through both the Latin community and the world of music. Here are the tragic details about Selena’s murder.

SAN ANTONIO - Everyone has a story. But nobody has one like Chris Perez.

A self-taught Rock n Roll guitarist from San Antonio. Bandmate of Tejano star Selena. The friendship, the romance, the marriage, the Quintanillas.

In a one-on-one interview with Randy Beamer, Perez shares how he got into music, how the music led him to Selena, and what life was like for the two of them. The San Antonio native details how their friendship blossomed into love and also reveals the bond he once had with Selena’s father, Abraham.

He also talks about his ongoing love for music, what he's doing now. It includes lots of music and a little bit salsa. That's salsa as in hot, spicy sauce, not salsa music. In fact, he calls it pepper sauce, and he got into the whole business by accident.

In this podcast, you’ll hear stories you never knew and find out what life is like now for Perez as a father, musician and budding businessman.

It’s not surprising that SNL celebrity guests get nervous before they perform on one of the premiere comedic establishments on television. There’s a lot of improvising and ad-libs that go on in these sketches, and a hosting or musical guest gig is also an indication that you have arrived as a star in showbiz. But even the most confident and seasoned performer can flub up on such a prestigious stage.

We’ve compiled a list of celebrities that completely destroyed their careers during SNL performances. Chalk it up to nerves, overconfidence, or a brain fart, these celebrity careers were never the same.

Jamal Michael Barrow better known as Shyne burst onto the hip-hop scene in the late 90s with his debut self-titled album, featuring hit singles like "Bad Boyz" and "That's Gangsta." He quickly gained popularity with his unique style, combining his raw lyrics with a deep, gruff voice, and drawing on his experiences growing up in Brooklyn. However, Shyne's rapid rise to fame was abruptly halted by a highly publicized incident in 1999, when he was involved in a shooting at a New York City nightclub with then-label head Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs. The incident resulted in injuries to several people, and both Shyne and Combs were subsequently charged with various crimes.

PinkPantheress informs us that she doesn't write songs with the intention of them becoming a hit on the charts. “Honestly I don't ever think about charting…when I release a song I don't really aim for it to chart”. She confirms whether or not the boy was a liar “I threatened to hex them, and I tried but I don't know if it worked…every experience just makes you better” . She explains in the interview that her life decisions and values have a big impact on how she manifests. “That was the hex” she says, comparing it to her manifesting.

To create the finest album possible, they both make sure to approach each other's albums as if they were their own.

Merle Ronald Haggard (April 6, 1937 – April 6, 2016) was an American country singer, songwriter, guitarist, and fiddler.

Merle Haggard was a smooth singer, adept guitarist, insightful songwriter, and Country Music Hall of Fame member. His legacy includes "Okie From Muskogee," "Workin' Man Blues," "Big City," "Mama Tried" and "Today I Started Loving You Again"

Haggard was born in Oildale, California, during the Great Depression. His childhood was troubled after the death of his father, and he was incarcerated several times in his youth. After being released from San Quentin State Prison in 1960, he managed to turn his life around and launch a successful country music career. He gained popularity with his songs about the working class that occasionally contained conformist and jingoistic themes contrary to the prevailing anti-Vietnam War sentiment of much popular music of the time. Between the 1960s and the 1980s, he had 38 number-one hits on the US country charts, several of which also made the Billboard all-genre singles chart. Haggard continued to release successful albums into the 2000s.

He received many honors and awards for his music, including a Kennedy Center Honor (2010), a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (2006), a BMI Icon Award (2006), and induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame (1977), Country Music Hall of Fame (1994) and Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame (1997). He died on April 6, 2016—his 79th birthday—at his ranch in Shasta County, California, having recently suffered from double pneumonia.

The Women of Country was a two-hour music special that was broadcast over the CBS Television Network on May 6, 1993. It includes musical performances in a concert at the Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, by legends such as Tammy Wynette and new artists like Suzy Bogguss, combined with contemporary interviews and films of vintage performances. This video is a transfer from a VHS recording of the broadcast.

Reviewer Edward Morris wrote about the broadcast in the May 22, 1993, issue of Billboard Magazine:
“The May 6 broadcast of ‘The Women of Country’ on CBS-TV appears to have sizably increased album sales for many of the artists featured on the show.

“The fact that several of the women who appeared on the special were also on the Academy of Country Music awards show on NBC-TV less than a week later is likely to maintain their momentum.

“Among the top beneficiaries of ‘The Women of Country’ exposure are Mary-Chapin Carpenter (whose songs opened and closed the special), Kathy Mattea, Pam Tillis, Suzy Bogguss, and Michelle Wright. All were featured performers.”

Justin Moore went off as he explained why Country music award shows are failing. Justin Moore made it very clear that the award shows have steered away from Country music and directly to the ratings.
