Berry Gordy, musical visionary and the driving force behind Motown Records, chronicles his amazing success and lasting impact on the national and international musical landscape. In this abridgment of his autobiography, Gordy gives a credible performance as he narrates the major events in his life. His gravelly voice with a slight accent is pleasant. His reading clearly conveys the wide range of emotions he feels toward his triumphs and failures; this is a major advantage to the author reading his own words. While the book contains many pictures and photographs, this audio presentation is "illustrated" with more than a dozen musical excerpts from great Motown hits. --AudioFile Magazine, Portland, Maine [Published: MAR 95]

LYRICS
Pain is my superpower

Tick tick boom
I can't lose,
Deadstock
Better not
Red hot

Broken & bruised what’s left to lose
Here on the edge of forever
If I never leap, I’ll never fly
Bleed or sacrifice
Fight until the final hour
Pain is my superpower
Keep my head up high
Run through rain or shine
Can't have sweet without the sour
Pain is my superpower
Pain is my superpower

Tough guy
Gunfight, I brought a blade
They forgot to shave, Fade
Rampage
Can't change…
내겐 없어 Plan B, 오직 Plan A
Pain of a champion into champagne

Broken & bruised what’s left to lose
Here on the edge of forever
If I never leap, I’ll never fly
Bleed or sacrifice
Fight until the final hour
Pain is my superpower
Keep my head up high
Run through rain or shine
Can't have sweet without the sour
Pain is my superpower

This world never saw me coming
I kicked down every door they locked
No rules, no rules
Only gods can judge me
Only gods can judge me
Only gods can judge me
Only gods can judge me

If I never leap, I’ll never fly
Bleed or sacrifice
Fight until the final hour
Pain is my superpower
Keep my head up high
Run through rain or shine
Can't have sweet without the sour
Pain is my superpower
Fight until the final hour
Pain is my superpower

BLACKPINK - 뛰어(JUMP)

I’m not that easy to tame
You should see me under these lights
All my tears turn to ice

That’s the sweetest escape
Every time the feeling kicks in
I might stay through the night

Bet you get it now
Rocked that didn’t I

Think you runnin that
Guess we gunnin back
You know I walk yeah I talk it

So come up with me I’ll take you high
That prima donna spice up your life

You know I got that shit that you like
So come up with me run up uh jump

Watch me runnin up the place
I’m already stuntin’ and my girls are on the way

Watch me open up the place
Wanna see you bumpin baby
Bouncin to the bass

Are you not entertained
I ain’t gotta explain it
I’m with all of my sisters
Got em goin insane, yeah

You know we on a mission
All gas no brakes, yeah
Breaking out of the system
Breaking out of this cage, yeah

Bet you get it now
Ate that didn’t I

Think you runnin that
Guess we gunnin back
You know I walk yeah I talk it

So come up with me I’ll take you high

You know I got that shit that you like
So come up with me run up uh jump

Today’s feature is a different kind of story, where we’ll speak about the touchy topic of cultural appropriation, and how one man may have done it so well that he’s considered a music legend to some that know him. Snow is a singer from the 90s, who became famous for his first album and debut single you may have heard of called “Informer”. The album sold over 8 million copies worldwide and the song has since went multiple times platinum across the world. Not to mention being added to the Guinness book of world records as the best selling reggae single is US history and highest charting reggae song in history, beating Bob Marley and every other reggae legend to ever record music, and most importantly, were actually of Jamaican decent and culture. Snow was accepted and ran with the fake Jamaican accent, hip hop style, attitude and culture all the way to record books and surpassing many Jamaican icons in sales, promotion and historical relevance, all right beneath their noses and in plain sight. How’d that happen? How’d Snow successfully appropriate and finesse Jamaican culture? Cultural Appropriation At It’s Finest? How Snow Finessed EVERYONE!

#Shyne sits down with #Camron for an incredible conversation about his journey from Bad Boy Records to Belize politics. He talks about doing 10 years for something he says he didn't do, getting deported, and becoming a leader in Belize's House of Representatives. Shyne drops some news about his 25th anniversary tour with Live Nation and a three album deal with Warner Music Group. He keeps it real about his relationship with #Diddy, what happened at Club New York, and how Wolf helped save his album. Don't miss this.
