In this episode of Noisey’s global rap series, ‘Gangsta Rap International’, Chuckie meets the masked men bringing the drill scene to the streets of Denmark. How will music’s most controversial genre thrive in one of the safest countries in the world?
Since emerging on the scene in 2019 with their viral hit Mask På, @Shooter Gang have racked up millions of views on YouTube, as well as attention from the police and press in their native Denmark, who fear they are promoting criminality.
From Trillegården in Aarhus, Denmark’s second-biggest city, Shooter Gang introduces Chuckie to a side of Denmark most have never seen before.

Aswad underwent their first line-up change in sixteen years in 1996, when Forde departed the band for spiritual reasons, leaving Gaye as the only founding member. Once again, the remaining members opted not to seek to recruit a replacement musician, and thus Aswad became a duo of Gaye and Robinson. With the exception of a brief reunion with Forde in 2009 for the Island record label's 50th-anniversary celebrations, the band's line-up remained the same until Angus Gaye’s death on 2 September 2022, aged 62.

http://jp.vice.com/topics/compton
**********

8 Mile - All The Filming Locations - Then and Now
#8mile #filminglocations
8 Mile is a 2002 American drama film written by Scott Silver and directed by Curtis Hanson. It stars Eminem in his film debut, alongside Mekhi Phifer, Brittany Murphy, Michael Shannon, Anthony Mackie, and Kim Basinger. The film, which contains autobiographical elements from Eminem's life, follows white rapper B-Rabbit (Eminem) and his attempt to launch a career in hip hop, a genre dominated by Black people. The title is derived from 8 Mile Road, the highway between the predominantly Black city of Detroit and the largely white suburban communities to the north that Marshall originally lived in.
8 Mile was a critical and box office success. It opened at No. 1 in the US with $51.3 million grossed in its opening weekend, and would eventually go on to achieve a total gross of $242.9 million worldwide. The album's accompanying soundtrack was also a commercial success, being certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The film garnered numerous award nominations and wins, including an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Lose Yourself" win for Eminem, Luis Resto and Jeff Bass at the 75th Academy Awards. 8 Mile was named one of the best films of 2002 by several publications.
As the end credits proudly announce, the movie was “Filmed on location in the 313”, the area code for inner urban Detroit, traditionally separated from the posher northern suburbs by the titular 8 Mile Road.
