Almost overnight, FloyyMenor and Cris Mj took Chile’s reggaeton movement worldwide with “Gata Only.” “I had this song hidden away for more than a year,” FloyyMenor to Vevo Footnotes. “I knew it was a hit but I was waiting for the right moment to release it. Once Cris heard it, he jumped on it.” The rest is history for the 18-year-old. “Gata Only,” inspired by Floyy’s gf, became both artist’s first entry into Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, spending seven weeks at the #1 spot. The song has broken so many records on streaming platforms that it has put the spotlight directly over FloyyMenor as one of Chile’s top artists to watch. As a prelude to the release of his first album ‘El Comienzo,’ the rapper sat down with Footnotes to talk about the making of his viral hit.
