Inside Kacey Musgraves's Serene Nashville Home | Open Door | Architectural Digest Hotney 11

Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to Nashville by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves for a tour of her beautiful, serene home. Musgraves purchased the property in 2020 during a time of significant change in her life, setting out to recalibrate the entire feel both inside and out alongside interior designer Lindsay Rhodes. “I wanted a place that felt like me,” she says, “where I could express myself without having to think about another person and what they might want. This felt like a new beginning.”

Prince Royce is in one of the most revelatory stages of his career. His new album ‘Llamada Perdida’ is one of his most personal works to date, with lyrics inspired by breakups, romantic relationships and personal challenges. It’s also one of his most sonically ambitious works, with collaborators as diverse as Gabito Ballesteros, Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Lenny Tavárez and Paloma Mami. “I think that it was difficult for me to put some of these songs out,” Royce told Rolling Stone. “Ultimately, I had fun with it, and I think it was a therapeutic experience for me. It gave me closure.” The risks paid off in dividends. The collaboration with Ballesteros turned into his 24th number one hit on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart. About his song “La Corriente”, which he performed live at Vevo's studio in New York, the crooner says that it’s a “sexy” track that highlights how complex bachata as a genre can be. “It’s hard in bachata to mix a lot of sounds without it being disturbing to the ear,” Royce said. “This is bachata in 4K.” Watching “La Corriente” performed live, with the intensity and drama that Royce’s voice carries, is a testament to the unforgettable sonic highways the Dominican is opening for the genre.

Lyrics:

Don’t say this, don’t say that
I’m not playing by the rules
If they were made by you
I won’t break just like that
I’ll make my own mistakes
Till I’m wrong in all the right ways

Save all your tears
You don’t wanna waste them on me
I’m not gonna be just like them
This is just the way that I am
Head in the clouds
I do not fit in to the crowd
Baby it’s all making perfect sense
Cause this is who I am, who I am

Don’t say this, don’t say that
I’m not playing by the rules
If they were made by you
I won’t break just like that
I’ll make my own mistakes
Till I’m wrong in all the right ways

Save all your tears
You don’t wanna waste them on me
I’m not gonna be just like them
This is just the way that I am
Head in the clouds
I do not fit in to the crowd
Baby it’s all making perfect sense
Cause this is who I am, who I am

If only I was wide awake
There’s more than I can take
And when you dive into the blue
I’ll be right next to you
I never wanna miss a thing
We fall in love again
You know I may hold on to you
Cause all that you go through
I’m with you
