Future - JUST THE BEGINNING (Official Live Performance)

In the last decade no rapper has been on a more sustained heater than Future. With ‘Dirty Sprite 2’ and ‘What a Time To Be Alive,’ the Atlanta native changed the sound of mainstream hip-hop. With ‘HENDRXX’ and ‘Beast Mode 2,’ he took the mask off and crowned himself the Toxic King. This reign continues as “WAIT FOR U,” with Drake featured and Tems sampled, currently dominates radio. His new ‘I NEVER LIKED U’ album is further evidence that his artistic identity is broad and complex. The title comes off like a juvenile text response to being left on read. But it’s also a defensive phrase, a means of shielding true emotions. Future gets away with minimal interviews and a furtive social media presence because he wisely builds a gripping mythology into his music...and because he’s so damn prolific. So who is he? Check the music for answers. The 20-plus albums he’s made in a decade are diary entries, and like any autobiography the lines between truth and fiction get blurry. Like many, we’ve been fans for a while, previously capturing Official Live Performances with him in 2019. When it was determined we should run it back, the Vevo crew linked with Future in Miami, a city that embraces glitz and healthy hedonism. Perfect match all around. It's so sad and beautiful at the same time...
Great lyrics as always, and this beautiful tune ... I love it!

Of course this song was not written about Rita and him,
but things always happen twice in one's lifetime...

It was Kris' first No 1 country hit as a writer in 1970
It was "Song of the Year" (and "Single Record of the Year") of the Academy of Country Music in 1970 -
(That was the first time a writer had won "Song of the Year" awards from both the Country Music Association - with "Sunday Mornin' comin' down"- AND the Academy of Country Music for different songs in the same year)

In 1971 Ray Price won a Grammy Award for "Best Male Country Vocal Performance" with it.

"The last honor of Kathryn Beck"- aka "Act of Passion" (1984) and
"Blood and Orchids" (TV, 1986).
Both movies are great to me and worth watching anyway, but only available on VHS tapes.

Kris already began to write the song in 1968, in his Opel, on one of his endless rides from Nashville to the Gulf.
"I began a song about making love to a woman for the last time. After a while the melody really got to me. I couldn't wait to get to a guitar. I was riding along thinking about that part where it says, 'Hear the whisper of the raindrops blowin' soft against the window,' and I wondered if I could play it. I wrote only the first part of the lyrics then. A while went before I finished it, I can't remember how long.... But I do remember who I wrote it about." Probably it was inspired by the dying days of his relationship to Fran...
Now it's hard to believe that for a time some radio stations wouldn't play the original recording by Bill Nash because of its "overtly sexual content"; indeed for a brief time, Kris couldn't even find anyone who wanted to record the song... And then? A spokeman for Buckhorn Music, which published the song shortly before Kris switched to Combine Music, said later, "It's recorded by pretty much everyone who comes into town to do an album, Englebert Humperndinck, Dean Martin, Andy Williams, Chet Atkins, Loretta Lynn and many more."

Capra is a metallic hardcore band roaring out of the depths of southern Louisiana. Formed by a pair of lifelong friends, Tyler Harper and Jeremy Randazzo, the bands dedication to their underground music community has led to rapid growth in the DIY scene. With a sound that reflects a deep web of hardcore influences with particular focus on acts like Every Time I Die and Converge, Capra are the band for their time and place. With high energy delivery and raging rock and roll hooks the group has been able to open for bands like Whores and The Number 12 Looks Like You as well as local heroes such as Eyehategod and Thou.

After a pair of EP’s with varying lineups, it was the addition of bassist Ben Paramore and explosive frontwoman Crow Lotus that brought the band to the next level. Crow’s vicious performances and on stage leadership turned the band into a veritable juggernaut. With the lineup locked in, Capra has since embarked on an aggressive campaign of live shows. A core focus for the band is, and always has been performing at benefits - in particular for causes surrounding drug abuse and domestic violence. They are proving that hardcore still has a heart and live by the belief that if you don’t care for your community your community will not care about you.

Now the band is excited to announce a partnership with Blacklight Media – a subsidiary of Metal Blade Records. With a new record in tow, Capra seek to push themselves over the top. Even since their humble beginnings, Tyler and Jeremy thought this band could be something special, now the whole band are working with their noses to the grindstone to ensure that this becomes the case. With their venom spitting frontwoman and hard rocking riffs it’s hard not to be enamored with the lightning charged assault of these Southern hardcore devotees.
