Welcome 2 the Dawn...please don't feed the doves.

At long last, here's my epic tribute to the late, undeniably great Prince Rogers Nelson! I've wanted to devote an entire mix to him for ages, and I'm happy to have finally edited together something I hope is worthy of one of my all-time favourite artists. Over the next 3.5 hours, you'll be hearing a VERY generous sampling of his best recordings, from his debut single (i.e. 1978's "Soft And Wet") to his final worldwide chart-topper (i.e. 1994's "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World") and countless points in between, sampling every album he released during that period. Here, you'll find iconic hits, beloved b-sides and album tracks, along with the odd remix. To be honest, I ended up leaving out A LOT of first-rate material; otherwise, this mix would be twice as long!

Hopefully, the casual Prince fans amongst you will develop a deeper appreciation for his genius, while die-hard fans will enjoy hearing this carefully curated tribute.

*IT'S NOT STAR WARS!!!* In the '90s, I bought the CD soundtrack for Dennis Potter's 'Pennies From Heaven' and on it was an amazing 1932 song called 'My Woman,' by Lew Stone And The Monseigneur Band, vocal by Al Bowlly. (This itself was a cover of the original by none other than Bing Crosby!) And that song started with a beautiful trumpet hook...

My track was the first to sample that catchy hook and it's now been sampled by Dua Lipa in her new track “Love Again”.

‘Your Woman’ reached number 1 in the charts in the UK, Spain and Iceland, and was Top 10 in 12 other countries as well as reaching number 23 in the US Billboard chart.
