Dr. Dre Epic Effect on Hip Hop | Nuthin But a Dre Thang | Gin and Juice 30 | BigBoy30 Hotney 10 意见 • 3 年前

We have an All New documentary for you centered on Dr. Dre. Dre is celebrating 30 years of Gin and Juice at the same time that Big Boy is celebrating #BigBoy30

It's Big Boy's 30 years in radio and all the stars are coming out!! Dr. Dre and Big Boy have a long history together on the radio and this documentary shows Dre as an artist, a producer, a discoverer and a creator of other Hip Hop Legends. How did the presence of Dr. Dre affect Ice Cube, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Xzibit and others?

How does Dr. Dre choose who he works with? What are those unique qualities he can hear before he puts someone into the recording studio?

What is life like 30 years later when the world recognizes both Big Boy and Dr. Dre with their Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?

How was the world changed when Dr. Dre starred in the Super Bowl Halftime Show performing in LA, for LA and from LA? And to top it off the Los Angeles Rams won the Superbowl that year? How huge was this event for the culture? What really happened with Eminem, 50 Cent, Mary J Blige, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Dre behind the scenes of the Superbowl Halftime performance?

What do artists experience when they work with Dre in the studio? Is it true that Dr. Dre can make you deaf with the audio levels when he is working? What happened with Dr. Dre’s health scare in 2021? How does Dre’s process and strive for perfection affect the music?

What is the bet of legend between Dr. Dre and Big Boy from back in the day? What happened when Big Boy tried to take the same bet with Snoop Dogg? What is Dre interested in for these years after already being a legend?

So many years and so many memories with Dr. Dre. Thanks for watching!!

The synth-funk unit Midnight Star scored several times on the charts during the mid-'80s, led by their double-platinum album No Parking on the Dance Floor in 1983. Just one of the successful acts on Solar Records (also including Shalamar, Lakeside, and the Whispers), the group was formed in 1976 at Kentucky State University by the Calloway brothers, trumpeter Reginald, and trombone player Vincent, with vocalist Belinda Lipscomb. After signing with RCA near the turn of the decade, Midnight Star recorded their first album in 1980, The Beginning, with a conglomeration of studio players and producers. After moving to the Solar label by 1982, the group released Victory and then added a full band: guitarist Melvin Gentry, bassist Kenneth Gant, drummer Bobby Lovelace, and keyboard player Bo Watson.

Though the Calloways' production skills -- later used to full effect on tracks by Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, and Teddy Pendergrass -- had pushed Midnight Star into the R&B charts during 1981-1982, with singles like "Hot Spot" and "I've Been Watching You," the group was unprepared for the success of the first single from their third proper album, No Parking on the Dance Floor. "Freak-a-Zoid" hit number two on the R&B charts in mid-1983, and though it failed to make the pop Top 40, it pushed the LP over the platinum mark. "Operator," the first single from their next album, Planetary Invasion, became their highest-charting single, making number 18 on the pop charts. By 1986, Headlines had become Midnight Star's third album to at least sell gold, but it proved their last; both Reginald and Vincent left the group to form Calloway in 1988. (Incidentally, the Calloways had introduced future legend Babyface to Solar executives for his first job, and produced Babyface's group the Deele).

Without Reginald and Vincent Calloway to lead the way, Midnight Star fell fast and far. A 1988 self-titled album flopped, and 1990's Work It Out proved to be their last until 2002's 15th Avenue. Since then, the members continued outside collaborations, but they also came together for frequent touring. As late as 2007, the group's lineup featured Lipscomb, Gentry, Watson, Lovelace, and Gant. As Calloway, the Calloways found success with their first single, 1989's "I Wanna Be Rich," which hit number two on the pop charts. The track was their only major hit, followed by "Sir Lancelot" and the title track from their 1990 debut album, All the Way. Calloway returned two years later with Let's Get Smooth, but the album proved their last. The brothers continued working, with Pieces of a Dream and Bootsy Collins, among others.

Tell me how’d you find your way under my skin
I wasn’t ready yet to let somebody in
Been thinking ‘bout you way more than I should have been
I can’t lie, oh I,
Never been too good at being vulnerable
I’m nervous cause I’m starting to get comfortable
Thinking that we could be something beautiful, this time

(but I gotta ask you)
If I’m letting down my walls
I gotta know that
You would love me through it all

(Mmmmm)

Through my awkward, my messy
My sad and all my sexy
My anxious, my lovely
My weird and all my ugly
All the pieces that make me
My sanity, my crazy
Would you take me with my flaws
Cause I’m not perfect
But I’ll give you - raw
Yeah I’ll give you - raw

Oh I’m
Throwing all my hesitation out the door
Showing you the colors no one’s seen before
All I wanna do is tell the world I’m yours
And you’re mine

But if I’m letting down my walls
I gotta know that
You would love me through it all

Through my awkward, my messy
My sad and all my sexy
My anxious, my lovely
My weird and all my ugly
All the pieces that make me
My sanity, my crazy
Would you take me with my flaws
Cause I’m not perfect
But I’ll give you - raw
Yeah I’ll give you - raw

Through my awkward, my messy
My sad and all my sexy
My anxious, my lovely
My weird and all my ugly
All the pieces that make me
My sanity, my crazy
Would you take me with my flaws
Cause I’m not perfect
But I’ll give you - raw

[LYRICS BELOW] Im Praying That this reaches those who need and want to hear and see it. Like, comment, and SHARE, let's share this thought provoking piece Of Art. I Love you all and can't wait to hear and read what you think...

[Lyrics] I need you more than you know, more than you know
Just tell all the demons that I gotta let them go
Cause they doin' too much
I fell in a hole and now I'm alone

So all I can do is run
So what do you do when you waste all of your time on love
All I can do, all I can do, all I can do is run
I did what I did, I know it's wrong

Baby, just leave me alone
I'm Trapped in my head, I wish I was dead
I'm sorry for what I've become
Been fightin' with demons, they promised they leaving

And they never gon' leave me alone and
I'm broken, I hope that you can save my soul
And they so loud, and I know now
That everything they said about love was a lie

And they so loud, and I know now
That everything they said about love was a lie
Just tell all the demons that I gotta let them go
Cause they doin' too much

I fell in a hole and now I'm alone
So all I can do is run
So what do you do when you waste all of your time on love
All I can do, all I can do, all I can do is run

Everybody always wanna talk about hurt
When I put love first, now my heart in a hurse
Now my head fucked up and I'm feelin' way worse
And every corner demons learn

And time passes and I still don't feel better
And I argue with these demons like
You did this, you let her
Hurt us, but it's fine, cause I don't like to smile

Hurt us, but it's fine, because it's been a while
Since I had to cry and I don't wanna dial
Your number if you're only gonna hurt me
Just tell all the demons that I gotta let them go

Cause they doin' too much
I fell in a hole and now I'm alone
So all I can do is run
So what do you do when you waste all of your time on love

All I can do, all I can do, all I can do is run.
