Straight from his headline set and label take over at the Brooklyn Mirage, international super star DJ Diplo joined the gang on the L train for a cheeky subway rave from Brooklyn to Manhattan.

A superstar DJ, sought-after producer, taste-making label owner, and wizard behind Major Lazer, Diplo (aka Diplodocus, Wes Diplo, and Wes Gully) launched his career on the fringes of dance music. With his mash-up mixtapes, he found and created a sound where his musical tastes -- '80s pop, electronica, Dirty South hip-hop, and his major influence, Miami bass music -- intersect. His attention-grabbing projects Hollertronix, with partner DJ Low Budget, and the 2004 Piracy Funds Terrorism, Vol. 1 mixtape with British-Sri Lankan MC M.I.A., made a heavy impact on the alternative electro-pop scene, amassing rave reviews from music critics and indie kids alike. Later, his Mad Decent imprint presented the edge of pop, hip-hop, and dance music while his conceptual Major Lazer project mixed dancehall with rave culture and toured the globe as a live-party sound system. By the late 2010s, high-profile projects with Skrillex (Jack Ü) and Mark Ronson (Silk City) both yielded Grammy wins for collaborations with Justin Bieber and Dua Lipa, respectively. He also teamed with Labrinth and Sia to form the supergroup LSD. Heading into the 2020s, the versatile artist segued into territories ranging from country to ambient, focusing on house music through his Higher Ground imprint and his 2022 self-titled full-length, then developing a parallel country-pop path with his Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley albums, which arrived in 2020 and 2023, respectively.

On 04 September, 1996, Tupac attends the MTV Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The show also marked Tupac Shakur’s final public appearance before the incidents in Las Vegas, Nevada three days later on September 7, Tupac's life came to an end at September 13.

Snoop Dogg: “MTV had the Award show at Central Park, so Tupac and all of us from Death Row, we mobbing…we see Nas…He (Tupac) walked up to nas…nas had about a hundred goons with him that I see, that I know that they gangstas, but pac aint tripping and he just don’t care, so he walk up to nas…nas reached out to shake pac hand, and nas say ‘I got love for you pac’, and pac said, ‘well ni**a, if you got love for me, I got a song coming out where I dissed you, Jay-Z, Biggie…’ He named like about 40 ni**az…he named a bunch of ni**as, and he told nas, ‘if you got love for me, you aint gon say nothing after this record come out.’ Nas shook the ni**a hand and looked over his shoulder…he had about a hundred ni**az with him, all them ni**az had their hands on their shit. He did them ni**az like this…like he winked his eye…like don’t do it. And he shook pac hand and he said I love you pac, and they separated.

Snoop Dogg: “We had just left New York. I had gotten off the HOT 97 radio station with Angie Martinez. That’s when me and him clashed, because she asked me on the air, ‘How do you feel about Diddy and Biggie?’ And I said what I felt. ‘They my homeboys. I love ’em.“
