There is no thrilling chorus that shakes the flow of the entire song, but Zion.T shows his feelings with the most pure power, ‘Family’.

It’s a family story that compares his father’s path to ‘Yanghwa BRDG’. Although this is a personal story of Zion.T, it goes out to everyone, including sons, daughters, fathers and mothers. Like the stories told to best friend, and putting out words from your diaries, all the lyrics in the song can be objects of sympathy. So it is a comfort and happy song for fathers, sons, and all families. Although he doesn’t show ‘too much’ emotions, he shows his feelings in his own way.

曲の流れを覆すほどの刺激的なサビはないが、ジャイアントティは最も純潔な力で‘家族’を歌って真心を伝える。
お父さんが生きてきた道を「ヤンファ大橋」に比喩して表現した家族の物語。ジャイアントティの個人的な話だが、この話を聴くすべての息子、娘、お父さん、お母さんのための歌だ。親友に打ち明ける話のように、あるいは自分の日記に書いておいた話を取り出したように歌の中のすべての言葉は、十分な共感の対象となる。結局、お父さんと息子、そしてすべての家族のための慰めであり、幸せのための歌だ。鬱憤を吐き出さなくても淡々と彼の情緒を表している。

곡의 흐름을 뒤엎을 만한 짜릿한 후렴구 하나 없지만, 자이언티는 가장 순결한 힘으로 ‘가족’을 노래하고 진심을 전한다.

아버지가 지나온 길을 ‘양화대교’에 빗대어 표현한 가족의 이야기. 비록 자이언티의 개인적인 얘기를 담았지만 이 이야기를 듣는 모든 아들, 딸, 아버지, 어머니들을 위한 노래다. 가장 친한 친구에게 털어놓는 말처럼, 혹은 자신의 일기장 구석에 써놓은 말을 어렵게 꺼내듯 노래 속 모든 말은 충분한 공감의 대상이 된다. 결국 아버지와 아들, 그리고 모든 가족에 대한 위로이자, 행복을 위한 노래다. 울분을 쏟아내지 않아도 담담하게 그만의 정서를 내비친다.

Raphael Saadiq is one of the great R&B writers and producers of the last 30 years. He started out fronting and playing bass in the group Tony! Toni! Toné! with his brother D’Wayne Wiggins on guitar. The Tony’s had an amazing four album run from ‘88 through 1996 with hit singles like "It Never Rains (In Southern California)," "Feels Good," "Anniversary," and "If I Had No Loot."

Raphael’s also released five solo albums starting with 2002’s Instant Vintage. His most recent album, Jimmy Lee, is a collection of very personal songs about the real traumas he and his family experienced growing up in Oakland, CA.

Raphael’s also done some amazing work behind the board. He’s produced and written for the likes of D’Angelo, TLC, Mary J. Blige, Solange, Earth Wind and Fire and just recently he worked on a handful of songs on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter. He’s also earned an Academy Award nomination for his work as a film composer.

This week Justin Richmond talks with Raphael Saadiq from his studio in Los Angeles about some of the incredible work he’s done recently. Raphael breaks down his collaboration with D’Angelo on the classic track “Lady,” and how Sly Stone bassist Larry Graham influenced a generation of musicians coming up in the Bay Area.

Si quieres buscar a Arón Piper en Spotify tienes que hacer un pequeño cambio y poner solo ARON, el nombre musical de este artista multidisciplinar que, sí, lo peta con sus series y pelis, pero ha estado de gira europea con su música y hace sold outs por ciudades que no creerías. Manchester, Milan, Berlín, Amsterdam… “Hemos hecho sold out en casi todas las ciudades de Europa por las que hemos estado. Es territorio complicado para los artistas españoles, pero ha sido una grata sorpresa”. Aron recibe a GQ España 24 horas antes de una de estas citas, en concreto en Varsovia. “Y espero que lo den todo, la gente está entregada, canta las canciones… está yendo muy bien”.

El día antes de recibir a GQ, Aron estuvo en Berlín, “donde nací”. Y fue un día especial porque “estuvo toda mi familia”. A pesar de que prácticamente tiene un bolo al día, lo está llevando bien. Mejor que otras veces. Aron es brutalmente honesto con esto. “Cuando estuvimos en Méjico, por ejemplo, era resacones todos los días; pero aquí lo estamos haciendo bien. Hay muchas fechas seguidas, pero tenemos tiempo para descansar”. Lo hace, por cierto, en un autobús negro que le lleva de gira. Tiene cocina, tiene una cama a la que llama “suite presidencial”, tiene hasta una PlayStation para los ratos muertos. “El día que tengo show trato de estar descansado y no haber salido la noche anterior para estar fresco. Y antes de actuar me ducho, terminando con agua fría, hago unas cuantas flexiones, y me bebo dos copitas, nada más”. De nuevo, Aron en estado puro.

Comida ligera antes del gran momento. Tartar, dumplings, ensalada de salmón, caldo. “Estamos en Varsovia, un lugar lejano pero ya hay fans en la puerta”, nos dice. Se pone su chándal de Acne, sus Adidas, un “gorrita vintage”, y un colgante con la A de su nombre en el cuello. Como si fuera el logo de un Vengador, como un Capitán América nocturno. En Nieve, Aron canta: ‘Miro la luna, me mira de vuelta’. Aron mira de frente a la música tanto como lo hace con el cine. Y el éxito le devuelve la mirada una vez más.
