"The Black Godfather" The Clarence Avant Story Color Of Conversation: Academy Award Nominated Director Reginald Hudlin, Producer Nicole Avant and Professor Skip Gates discuss the Netflix documentary and its main character Nicole's father, Clarence Avant better known as "The Black Godfather". He has been described as the definition of authenticity and integrity and this documentary shows the full man warts and all. This documentary is Clarence's final gift to Black America and is a journey through black American institutions. The intention of the documentary was to showcase a story on using our freedom wisely and doing something with our lives. Professor Skip Gates describes the documentary as the new "48 Laws of Power" and the definition of authenticity.
