Tessa Thompson - I Will Go to War (From "Creed II" Soundtrack) Hotney 6 Ansichten • 3 Jahre vor

Creed II (Score & Music from the Original Motion Picture) – I Will Go to War (performed by Tessa Thompson)

Creed II tells the story of Adonis Creed who is up against the challenge of his life, between personal obligations and training for his next big fight. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.

The soundtrack features music by three-time Grammy Award nominee Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, Fruitvale Station, Atlanta). Göransson makes his return to the Creed franchise for film’s soundtrack, which includes a star-studded lineup of features from A$AP Rocky, Vince Staples and Jacob Banks. Moreover, Tessa Thompson is performing two songs, including “I Will Go to War”. The movie stars Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, Phylicia Rashad, Dolph Lundgren and is directed by Steven Caple Jr. From Metro-Goldwyn-Maier, New Line Cinema and Chartoff-Winkler Productions.
Composer LUWIG GÖRANSSON says: “In Creed II, Creed is now at the peak of his career. He is facing big responsibilities and decisions that will affect not only him but also his family. When I wrote the score for Creed II, I continued on my journey from the first Creed. The themes that were more youthful three years ago now had to mature into a more serious musical language. It was also a huge honor to write a theme for one of the most popular antagonists in film history, the Drago family.”

LYRICS
Ran the whole way
Ran the whole thing
Never ran away
Never been afraid
Never goin' to break
Never halfway
I don't know if I can take it
I can't take it, I can't take it anymore
I don't know if I can do it
If it wasn't for who I do it for
Doesn't make sense but it makes dollars
Doesn't make sense but it makes dollars
And I wanna spend it all on you
Against the world but I'm with you
I will go to war
Don't let you down (Don't let you down)
Won't let you down (Won't let you down)
I will go to war (I will go to war)
I will go to war (I will go to war)
Don't let you down (Don't let you down)
Won't let you down (Won't let you down, down)
I will go to war (I will go to war)
I will go to war

Lyrics:
She's taken my time
Convinced me she's fine
But when she leaves, I'm not so sure
It's always the same
She's playing her game
And when she goes I feel to blame
Why won't she say she needs me?
I know she's not as strong as she seems

Why don't I see her cry for help?
Why don't I feel her cry for help?
Why don't I hear her cry for help?

I wandered around
The streets of this town
Trying to find sense of it all
The rain on my face
It covers the trace
Of all the tears I've had to waste
Why must we hide emotions?
Why must we never break down and cry?

All that I need is to cry for help
Somebody please hear me cry for help
All I can do is cry for help

No need to feel ashamed
Release the pain
Cry for help

Cry for help is all I need
All I need is a cry for help
Cry for help is all I need
All I need is a cry for help

Why must we hide emotions?
Why can't we never break down and cry?

All that I need is to cry for help
I will be there when you cry for help
Why don't I hear her cry for help?

All I need is a cry for help
Somebody please hear me cry for help
All I can do is cry for help

In the mid-70s, Dead Boys emerged as pioneers in the first wave of punk rock alongside acts like the Ramones. Playing regularly at CBGB, a legendary New York venue, they contributed to shaping the independent music scene. Despite their initial impact, Dead Boys gained notoriety for being one of the most self-destructive and violent bands of their time. However, their story takes an unexpected turn when, almost two decades later, they find recognition through a popular band paying homage to their music.

Originating in Cleveland, Ohio, the band's roots can be traced back to Rocket From The Tombs, formed in 1974. The lineup evolved over time, leading to the recruitment of key members like Peter Laughner, Cheetah Chrome, and Johnny Blitz. After a gig at the Berea Community Center, Stiv Bators joined them on stage, setting the stage for the formation of Dead Boys.

The band's relocation to New York City, supported by Joey Ramone, marked a new chapter. The decision to adopt the name "Dead Boys" was a spontaneous one, and their gritty performances at CBGB soon gained attention. Despite a chaotic lifestyle and confrontations with other punk bands, Dead Boys secured a deal with Sire Records, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Records, in March 1977. Their debut album, "Young, Loud and Snotty," received critical acclaim, even though it faced commercial challenges.

The band's live performances were known for Stiv Bators' outrageous antics, influenced by Iggy Pop, including crawling through drum kits and inflicting harm on himself. Their shows also attracted rowdy crowds and gained notoriety for explicit lyrics. Despite these controversies, Dead Boys continued to gain popularity and toured with Iggy Pop.

However, their sop****re album, "We Have Come For Your Children," faced challenges during production, leading to creative conflicts with producer Felix Pappalardi. Released in 1978, it received mixed reviews and poor sales. The decline continued as internal tensions grew, exacerbated by Johnny Blitz's stabbing and Cheetah Chrome's struggles with heroin.

Sire Records terminated their tour, leading to the eventual disbandment of Dead Boys. Stiv Bators formed Lords of the New Church, while other members pursued different projects. The band briefly reunited in 1987, experiencing both success and internal conflicts. Stiv Bators suffered a traumatic brain injury in 1990 and tragically passed away.

In 1993, Guns N' Roses covered Dead Boys' "Ain't It Fun," giving the band renewed recognition. The surviving members sporadically reunited for tributes and eventually reformed in 2017 with a new vocalist, Jake Hout. They released a re-recorded version of their debut album in 2017, celebrating its 40th anniversary. Dead Boys remain active, with plans for a tour in September and October.

Black Sabbath – Live Evil (Full Album) [Official Video] Hotney 6 Ansichten • 3 Jahre vor

You're listening to the official full album for Black Sabbath - 'Live Evil' (1982) - remastered in 2008. Pre-order Black Sabbath - Live Evil (40th Anniversary Super Deluxe) here: https://blacksabbath.lnk.to/liveevil

Black Sabbath made a two-pronged comeback in 1980 and 1981 when Ronnie James Dio joined their ranks as their new lead singer for the platinum albums, Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules. On the 1982 Mob Rules U.S. tour, they decided to record shows to create the first official Black Sabbath live album. With material drawn evenly between songs written with Ronnie as well as older classics such as “War Pigs” and “Iron Man,” when Live Evil was released at the end of 1982, it represented an accurate and powerful memento of Black Sabbath Mk2 on their second world tour. Although it was hailed by influential heavy metal magazine Kerrang! as “one of the greatest live albums of all time” in 1983, the band was never completely satisfied with the original mix. Now we are able to present a fresh, new 40th anniversary mix of the entire album, remixed from the original analog multi tracks by longtime associate of the band, Wyn Davis. The packaging will also include a 40-page hard back book featuring a newly commissioned 12,000-word essay, the new remix as a double LP, as well as the original double album, newly remastered in 2022 by Andy Pearce. The CD edition will also be four discs, with a 60-page hardback book.
