As a side note, I want to talk about the remaster of this video as well as the future of this channel, and the impact the old #1 video had on my channel. This remaster was just like what I did all those years ago when I set out as the first person to successfully publish every #1 hit from start to finish without breaking it up into parts; just one long, continuous stretch. Most people broke their videos into parts and I hadn't really seen anyone upload the #1s before the 70s, so it was my mission to deliver. Since it was the first time doing something like this, there obviously were several issues when I published it. In this remaster, I set out to fix those problems and I really hope that I didn't make any spelling errors in the video. If I did, please let me know so next time I can narrow down which parts I made errors on and correct them. As for the video itself, I recreated the whole video from scratch. I did not have any clips saved from the previous video (it wouldn't have mattered since they were 30fps anyways). Every clip in this video was rerecorded, edited, mixed, etc. However, this time around, I had noticed there was a larger variety of clips from older songs with better quality than the first time I did this project. Unfortunately, several clips I had used in the first video have now disappeared and there is no footage of the same clip on several songs. If I ever come across them when I update this video next year, I will include them, but that is what you should expect when dealing with YouTube and copyright. Also, in terms of the copyright system: my video was taken down and not allowed in any country in the world due to copyright. That is why my original video is no longer up on the site, and I am the only one that can access it. I made a community post sometime ago explaining the situation and deleted the post several weeks after. In case anyone was wondering what happened to it, there's your answer. Moving on, in terms of the future of the channel, I am still committed to do Every #5s, 6s, etc. at least until #10s. Eventually, and I mean in the far far future, I will reach the end with every #100s, but that is a daunting task for another day. In terms of success, I hope that this video reaches the heights, maybe even more, of its predecessor. The original video before it was removed had almost 300k views, 5.2k likes, and 1.1k comments which is insane!!! Thank you everyone that viewed, liked (and disliked), and commented on the video no matter what it was. It really means a lot and I never expected it to blow up the way that it did. Before the video I only had a measly 38 subscribers and posted Geometry Dash content. Due to that video and subsequent others, I gained 1.6k subscribers in about a year! Thank you so much. For this year, I want to at least make videos up to every #10s, as well as other little projects along the way. Cheers to a great 2023...

Every single #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 from the very beginning up until this past week.

From the weeks of Aug 4. 1958 to Mar 4. 2023, there have been over 1,000 songs to have graced the top spot for at least one week. This video is a compilation of all of those songs; from the very beginning to the present.
Music has really changed over the past decades, and this is represented within this video. It is really interesting and entertaining to see which songs have reached #1 within the US. I made sure this time that I could get the best possible audio for many songs that were questionable in quality last time.

This is the biggest video I have ever worked on, and rightfully so. I have the spreadsheet for every #1 linked below so that you can check it out. I also have the biggest hits of each year since some weren't in this video due to them never reaching #1.

Before Nile Rodgers & CHIC set the Tiny Desk off, the icon established a sort of mission statement for the group's sound: "If we can funk in this, you know we can funk." They surely can. In stints since 1972, CHIC has assured its position as funk ambassadors — a position its members clearly relish — and no space is resistant to their grooves. When Rodgers asks singer Kimberly Davis to show the audience "how we do it in the CHIC organization," she launches into high-powered vocals that vaporize every note. And when he asks drummer Ralph Rolle to lead them to "maximum funkocity," Rolle ignites call-and-response with an electrified crowd. As the ringleader of the CHIC experience, Rodgers crams a lifetime's worth of nightlife into every strum of his guitar.

Rodgers' career is epic in both scope and impact. The 1979 CHIC album Risqué was a disco milestone that became a hip-hop cornerstone. Standing at inflection points for two different genres is enough to make a career, but Rodgers was far from done. An incomparable songwriter and session musician, his call sheet as a producer is emblematic of his immense range: David Bowie, Diana Ross, Madonna and Mick Jagger, just to name a few. His work is embedded in the very fabric of popular music, and he continues to add to his resume decades after first making changes to the sonic landscape. In 2014, Rodgers won the Grammy for record of the year with Daft Punk. This year, he amassed more honors for his work on Beyoncé's RENAISSANCE.

His wondrous set spans his massive catalog — songs he wrote for CHIC, songs he wrote with collaborators, songs he wrote for other stars and a surprise song he wrote for a classic movie. Throughout, Rodgers is the pulse for an ever-amplifying funk. The band's performance of "I'm Coming Out" builds to a rip-roaring sax solo. A rollicking performance of "We Are Family" breaks down in the middle before erupting to a triumphant finish. And atop the rippling bassline of "Good Times," Rodgers breaks into an impromptu version of "Rapper's Delight," which samples the song. It all leads to the maximum funkocity of Bowie's "Let's Dance," a tribute to the genre's reach and power.
