R&B singer, songwriter and record producer Donell Jones dominated the ‘90s and early 2000s music scene with his own unique blend of the genre combining old school soul with a new school vibe. It would later be revealed that the passion in his art, that would give him so much success, was drawn from his own life experiences. The success wouldn’t take all his problems away though, in fact, it created even more.

He had the swagger of a hip hop rapper and the vocal prowess of an R&B balladeer. Montell Jordan burst onto the entertainment scene in the mid ‘90s and immediately rose to the top of the charts while also using his attention-grabbing height and good looks to create the image of a single and ready to mingle Hollywood heartthrob. He wasn’t single though he was very married and, before long, that false public image would lead to causing his wife immense pain and put their relationship in jeopardy. Creative differences with his label, money issues and the realization that his choices weren’t serving him well forced Montell to re-examine everything and ultimately decide to take his life in a more meaningful and spiritual direction.

Waco, Texas. A place known for a lot of different things. The birthplace of Dr. Pepper, home of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame as well as, sadly, one of the most tragic incidents in American religious history masterminded by a maniacal cult leader. Something the city is definitely not known for is producing musical superstars. But, it happened when R&B group Hi-Five came on the scene.

Whitney, Mariah and Celine. Three superstar singing divas with a lot in common. They’re all stunningly beautiful. Their careers all experienced tremendous success in the ‘90s and their voices all possess that IT factor that make people sit up and take notice as soon as they hear the first note. Another songstress that could definitely hold her own up against this trio is Tamia. She looked just as good and could hit all the notes they could. However, even with the backing of some major players in the industry, her career never took off the way people expected it would.

Did Woodstock '99 herald the death of music? Or maybe it was 1998, when mainstream originality was Auto-Tuned into oblivion. Either way, the 1990s was bad times for good music.

The Best Quotes of John Lennon_The Art of Thinking

John Winston Ono Lennon, MBE (9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980) was an English musician and singer-songwriter who rose to worldwide prominence as one of the founding members of The Beatles, one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts. in the history of popular music. Together with fellow Beatle Paul McCartney, he formed one of the most successful songwriting partnerships of the 20th century.

Born and raised in Liverpool, Lennon was involved as a teenager in a skiffle madness; his first band, The Quarrymen, developed into The Beatles in 1960. When the group disbanded towards the end of the decade, Lennon embarked on a solo career that resulted in the critically acclaimed John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine albums, and iconic songs such as as "Give Peace a Chance" and "Imagine". Lennon left the music business in 1975 to devote time to his family, but reappeared in 1980 with a new album, Double Fantasy. He was killed by Mark Chapman three weeks after his release.

Lennon expressed his rebellious nature and sharp wit in his music, writing, drawings, in films, and in interviews, and he became controversial through his political activism and peacemaking. He moved to New York City in 1971, where his criticism of the Vietnam War resulted in a lengthy attempt by the Richard Nixon administration to deport him, while his songs were adopted as the national anthem by the anti-war movement.

In 2010, Lennon's solo album sales in the United States exceeded 14 million units, and as a writer, co-writer or performer, he was responsible for 27 number-one singles on the US Hot 100 chart. In 2002, a BBC poll of the 100 Greatest Britons voted him eighth, and in 2008, Rolling Stone ranked him the fifth greatest singer of all time. He was posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.

A Los Angeles judge sentenced Eric R. Holder Jr., the man convicted of gunning down Nipsey Hussle, to 60 years to life in prison after hearing testaments to the immense cost of the killing of the hip-hop star and neighborhood leader.

Holder Jr., 33, was found guilty of the 2019 first-degree murder of the 33-year-old Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist outside the clothing store Hussle founded, the Marathon, in the South Los Angeles neighborhood where both men grew up.

In 1965 the beatles had achieved everything a pop star could dream of, she loves you became the best selling single in the history of British records, they opened the way in the United States for the British invasion, they were breaking records everywhere, the rating levels in the Ed Sullivan show were unprecedented, every single they released was number one, tours in the most important countries for the industry, two successful movies, members of the British empire, what else could they do? They had broken all the standards, and avoiding a comfort zone the beatles decided to evolve and mature to change the history of music and the whole world. Rubber soul was the beginning of everything.

For a time, La Toya was labelled the Jackson's wayward child, after she turned against Michael and her music family, exposing their 'alleged' deepest darkest secrets and feeding into salacious tabloid accusations. However, the path La Toya has taken in life has often been marred by abuse, manipulation and exploitation.

In this documentary film, we uncover the middle sister rocky road into the world of show business. Her difficult relationship with her family, complicated adolescence and her pursuit for her own kind of independence, that took her down many regretful paths in the process.

I do not own the rights to any of the tracks in this mix. If you would like me to remove the audio of your music from this mix, please get in touch and I will happily do so! :)

Who Is Doggie Diamonds?

A well respected contributing media personality, Doggie Diamonds has been at the forefront of many renowned one on one's with a multitude of influential individuals in and out of the Hip Hop culture. Now focused on the podcast sphere, Doggie Diamonds has been cultivating pivotal content since 2016. Created in effort to provide a platform for unsung heroes, and distribution of unfiltered perspective, the motivation for his new venture was the frequent inquiry into his insight on burning topics within the culture and industry.
Always one to answer the call, Doggie Diamonds have built on the foundation of his interview experience and journey within Hip Hop.
"When I sat and thought about it, I was podcasting before I knew I was actually doing. With my background in radio, all I had to do was strip down the audio from my shows and upload."
From his work as co-owner of Forbez DVD, to work on The Come up DVD as well as his Doggie Diamonds TV platform (200K+ subscribers on YouTube) Doggie Diamonds has laid the cement for a legacy in journalism. A true influencer, his goal of competing at a high level will never be compromised. Ranking as high as #3 on iTunes in the music podcast category, Doggie Diamonds has set the bar to say the least.
"The plan is to have one of the top podcasts in the podcasting industry. From top tier guests and doing more live podcasts we seize the opportunity of broad distribution through google play, stitcher, castbox, spotify, youtube, iheartradio, radio one, tunein, deezer."
From notables such as Charlamagne Tha God, Freeway Ricky Ross, Peedi Crakk, Pras, Lil Kim, Dave East, Ali Vegas, Prodigy, and Erick Sermon to so many more, the Doggie Diamonds podcast is the result of curating content on a platform dedicated to the culture.

The Rolling Stones - Live à l’O2 Arena (Concert complet - Londres 25 Novembre 2012)
