British Vogue presents ‘In The Bag’ with Ice Spice. The ‘Barbie World’ rapper reveals her daily essentials, as we take a look inside Ice Spice’s pink-quilted Chanel handbag. ‘I’m so honoured that Barbie asked me to be a part of the soundtrack,’ Ice Spice says of Greta Gerwig’s box-office record-breaking Barbie movie, in which the musician sings ‘Barbie World’ with Nicki Minaj — their second collaboration of the year, following the release of ‘Princess Diana.’

Ice Spice’s must-haves include tinted sunglasses (‘they’re not really a disguise, but I feel more incognito with them’); lace panties; Victoria’s Secret strawberry fizz lip gloss; and a matching pink Chanel wallet: ‘I’m in my Chanel era,’ she grins. Watch the full episode of British Vogue’s ‘In The Bag’ as Ice Spice gives us a sneak peek inside her Chanel bag.

Saxophonist and composer Joshua Redman is a regular on NPR's Jazz Night in America, featured on episodes including a tribute to his father, saxophonist Dewey Redman, and a reunion with his former quartet featuring Brad Mehldau, Jazz Night host Christian McBride and Brian Blade. Since his debut in the 1990s, Redman has built a career thoughtfully exploring every crevice of modern jazz and infusing it with the variety of genres he grew up listening to.

Here, Redman presents cuts from his latest album, Where Are We, a medication on the complexities of America, featuring new collaborator vocalist Gabrielle Cavassa. In "Chicago Blues," Redman's take on a Count Basie classic, and a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Streets of Philadelphia," Cavassa and Redman dance over the anchoring grooves from bassist Philip Norris and drummer Nazir Ebo, while pianist Paul Cornish delivers a stunning improvised transition between the two songs. For the final selection, Redman opens with an improvisation on "America the Beautiful." The traditional, patriotic tune is a stark contrast to the ugly inspiration for the plaintive "After Minneapolis" that follows, about the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer. The song's growing maelstrom surrounds Redman's haunting wails and Cavassa's mournful interpretation of Redman's lyrics. Throughout, Redman's solos serve to illustrate why he is one of today's best saxophonists.

Lyrics:
Maybe this is way too good to be true
Must be a catch being with you
These things never seem to happen to me
I’m here waiting for a disaster
Already seen how it all ends
These things never seem to happen to me

But everything is sunshine, heartbeats, bare feet in the grass
You and I
I’m so happy I wouldn’t mind

If I were to die
In a car with you tonight
I wouldn’t be as good alone alive
If we were to fly
Out the window to the ground
I wouldn't be as good alone alive
I’d happily die
With you by my side

If I ever lose you I’ll be prepared
Seen you die a million times in my head
I cannot lose if I don't play to win

But everything is sunshine, heartbeats, bare feet in the grass
You and I
I’m so happy I wouldn’t mind

If I were to die
In a car with you tonight
I wouldn’t be as good alone alive
If we were to fly
Out the window to the ground
I wouldn't be as good alone alive
I’d happily die
With you by my side

Picture me rollin' like Pac, nigga
But I ain't Pac, nigga

Death Row chain just for the drip, I'm not affiliated
West Side nigga so they really hate it
I be out in Las Vegas at the MGM
By the crap tables in some MCM
And it's Monday, I'm lookin' like somebody MCM
Niggas better watch they bitches, I be in DM's
Baby Lane killed Pac, niggas killed Baby Lane
Buntry was bustin' back, Heron died in his chains
A fatal car crash killed Fatal Hussein

I went from wantin' to be Suge, to hatin' Suge, to fuckin' with him
28 years a long ass time, it's fuckin' with him
Talked to him on the phone the other day
'Bout how he could've signed me before Dre, now I'm back in LA
Ridin' down Sunset with my clip full
Watchin' the sunset 'cause this shit cool
Life be like that, I'm just tryna catch a vibe, nigga
See some bitches, roll some trees and get high, nigga
Run up on my Lambo', that's suicide, nigga
Pistol grip pump on my lap at all time
If the nigga Bron-Bron rap, it'd probably sound like this
Somewhere between Cube and Kiss, I can't miss
Documentary, Doctor's Adv'
When niggas was really goin' platinum on the 'Math

But even now, you play with Dre's name, I'm on your ass

Lyrics
I built a house for a love to grow
I was so young that it was hard to know
I’m as lost now as I was back then
Always make a mess of everything
It’s about time that I face myself
All I do is bleed into someone else
Painting walls with all my secret tears
Filling rooms with all my hopes and fears

But oh my, oh my
I’ll never learn if I never leap
I’ll always yearn if I never speak

To be loved and love at the highest count
Means to lose all the things I can’t live without
Let it be known that I will choose to lose
It’s a sacrifice
But I can’t live a lie let it be known
Let it be known that I tried

I’m so afraid but I’m open wide
I’ll be the one to catch myself this time
Trying to learn to lean into it all
Ain’t it funny how the mighty fall
Looking back I don’t regret a thing
Yeah I took some bad turns
That I am owning
I’ll stand still and let the storm pass by
Keep my heart safe til the time feels right

Let it be known that I cried for you
Even started lying to you
What a thing to do
All because I wanted to be loved…

THE SKY IS SHINING BRIGHT
TIME ISN’T TICKING ANYMORE

I’M WIDE AWAKE
THERE AIN’T NO LOCK I AM THE KEY
AND LIFE IS KNOCKING AT MY DOOR

IT’S NOW OR NEVER
I KNOW THERE IS NO DOUBT
ALL MY FEARS FADING AWAY

I AM SURROUNDED BY THE WIND
BENEATH MY WINGS
SO MAYBE
YOU’LL CROSS MY WAY

IT’S NOW OR NEVER
THERE IS ONLY HERE AND NOW
DON’T ASK ME WHEN OR WHERE
I’M ON A SPEEDING TRAIN I WON’T LOOK BACK

IT’S NOW OR NEVER
NO MATTER WIN OR LOSE
THE GAMBLE’S WORTH THE GAME
THE ROLLERCOASTER RIDE GOES ON AND ON

IT’S NOW OR NEVER
EVERY STEP AN OPEN DOOR
THERE’LL ALWAYS BE A BRIGHTER DAY

RED CARPETS ROLLING OUT
IN FRONT OF EVERY FLOOR
WE COULD’NT GET THERE YESTERDAY

IT’S NOW OR NEVER
YOUR HEART IS PUMPING WILD
TIME IS PRECIOUS
I’M CAREFREE AS A CHILD

THIS LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL
LET’S LIVE IN HARMONY
THERE’S ONLY ONE LIFE
GO LIVE IT NOW

IT’S NOW OR NEVER
THERE IS ONLY HERE AND NOW
DON’T ASK ME WHEN OR WHERE
I’M ON A SPEEDING TRAIN I WON’T LOOK BACK

IT’S NOW OR NEVER
NO MATTER WIN OR LOSE
THE GAMBLE’S WORTH THE GAME
THE ROLLERCOASTER RIDE GOES ON AND ON

I KNOW THAT DAY BY DAY CAN FEEL IT’S SO MONOTONOUS
YOU NEED A PLACE TO HIDE AWAY

I TAKE A PICTURE SO THIS MOMENT DOESN’T PASS
YOU’RE IN THE FIGHT OF YOUR LIFE
IT’S NOW OR NEVER

IT’S NOW OR NEVER
ONLY HERE AND NOW
DON’T ASK ME WHEN OR WHERE
I’M ON A SPEEDING TRAIN I WON’T LOOK BACK

IT’S NOW OR NEVER
NO MATTER WIN OR LOSE
THE GAMBLE’S WORTH THE GAME
THE ROLLERCOASTER
THE ROLLERCOASTER
THE ROLLERCOASTER RIDE GOES ON AND ON

Two house and techno trailblazers go toe-to-toe at IMS Ibiza to celebrate 40 years of Mixmag.
The Lab Ibiza is powered by Pioneer Pro Audio.

To celebrate 40 years of Mixmag, we’re bringing two of house and techno’s finest to the White Isle where they’ll go back-to-back during this year’s International Music Summit (IMS). Hailing from Brazil, ANNA goes up alongside Welsh-born Sasha for a 90-minute takeover at Destino Pacha Resort, the home of IMS 2023.

ANNA’s ferocious warehouse sets pay testament to techno's early innovations, and have seen her perform alongside some of the world’s biggest artists in her 15+ years on the scene. She’ll go toe-to-toe with Sasha this Friday, who first earned his stripes in the early ‘90s with his own unique brand of progressive house. The pair will link up for a special poolside set under the Ibizan sun this week - and this one’s unmissable.

Spandau20's Elli Acula delivers a blistering techno set to the Awakenings crowd.

Elli Acula’s meteoric ascent is unstoppable, just like her power behind the decks to fuse groovy, powerful sounds ranging from Techno, Rave, Breakbeat, Electro and Jungle. Her electric energy has already thrilled dancers at Europe’s top venues like Berghain, Printworks, Fabric and Robert Johnson, as well as dance floors in South America and Australia. However, playing late night/early morning extended vinyl sets at Berlin haunts like OHM or ://aboutblank was where she cut her teeth.

Having been a founding member of the label Spandau20 and one of its creative directors, it was her first release on the label that set her up for what came next. “To The Peak”, the record she made with FJAAK & Ostgut Ton’s Steffi, hits just as hard as one of Elli Acula’s lauded DJ sets and was immediately picked up and supported by Techno & Electro’s greatest.

Ukraine's Daria Kolosova makes her Mixmag debut with an hour of unforgettable techno grooves.

From Berghain to Bassiani, Fabric to Fold, Amnesia to Awakenings, Daria Kolosova's recent rise to become one of techno's hottest names is unmatched.

Her love for music was instilled by her father and her devotion to electronic music began at the age of 9 when she first heard 'Diesel Power' by The Prodigy. To fuel her love for music even further, her mother sent her to music school where she studied piano. Yet being drawn to DJing from an early age, Daria embraced her vocation which led to her first performance in February 2010.

As a DJ, Kolosova never aims to deliver what is expected of her, but rather tries to convey her personal narratives through music. Daria sees music as the most genuine method of communication, empathy and unity - a tool that helps her transform her distinctive energy into a story that can be shared with people on the dance floor. She desires to not only provide a danceable and enjoyable set but inspire and introduce people to something fresh and daring.
