Lyrics
Oh, yeah

Low key, low key, you should really get to know me
Low key, low key, you should really get to know me
Yeah, I know you got some things that you could show me
Low key, low key, you should really get to know me

I see you looking at my body very closely
But there's a lot of things about me that you don't see
You know we could take it fast or take it slowly
We could fly out to Ibiza and get cozy

All your friends are looking for you
They don't know where you're at
'Cause you left with me and slipped out the back

Low key, low key, you should really get to know me
Low key, low key, you should really get to know me
Yeah, I know you got some things that you could show me
Low key, low key, you should really get to know me

Let's forget about our phones until the morning ('Til the morning)
We can post up, no one gets to see our story (Oh no)
I can take you places you ain't been before me
Then, the rest I guess is self-explanatory

All your friends are looking for you
They don't know where you're at
'Cause you left with me and slipped out the back (Shh, ah)

Low key, low key, you should really get to know me (Get to know me)
Low key, low key, you should really get to know me (Ah, ah)
Yeah, I know you got some things that you could show me (Oh oh)
Low key, low key, you should really get to know me

La, la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la
La, la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la-la
La, la-la, la-la-la (Oh)
La-la-la-la-la
La, la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la-la (Shh)

(Yeah)
I see you watchin', you been plottin' on me, low key, yeah (Low key)
I put this ice up on your neck and freeze your body, yeah (Ha)
I've been known to be givin' (Yeah)
Get it, then I spend it (Yeah)
Invent a new wave, then I re-invent it
Baguettes on your wrist now, can't be actin' timid (Woo)
Take you to New Mexico, ain't nobody business (Yeah)
Throw me that, Ally, I'ma dunk and win it (Slam)
I ain't looking for love, but it's been a minute (Oh, oh)
Serve it to me on a plate, I'ma come and get it
You love it, I like it, it's litty (Woo)

Low key, low key, you should really get to know me
Low key, low key, you should really get to know me (Know me)
Yeah, I know you got some things that you could show me (Yeah, yeah)
Low key, low key, (Hey) you should really get to know me (Really get to know me)

La, la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la
La, la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la-la
La, la-la, la-la-la (Ooh)
La-la-la-la-la
La, la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la-la

Lyrics:
Kocky Ka :
Had to learn to wipe my tears
Cause no one got you like you got yourself the answers in the mirror
Know how it feels when you crying out for help & no one hears you
They say god won’t put more on you then you can bare
I know he got me I ain’t worried yeah I know my time is near
Sometimes I ask myself how I really made it thru them hard times
Can’t let you sucka niggas trick me out my spot you got the wrong guy
From the bottom of the bottom told my dogs yea We gon all rise
yeah we gonna all rise
It’s gone be alright We made it thru them
Dark Nights

Fridayy :
For them dark nights I promise we gone all shine, it was hard times too many nights my momma crying
Clarity diamonds for the times we was all grinding, I found a way out for my dogs it was hard timing
Proud of me now I’m in the studio just me and meek we pouring out hot 100 billboard it been a week
I’m doing it big feel like Kocky Ka ain’t no diet in me, I’m eating well four wings fried rices what it use to be
Oh now it’s lobster getting so much money I’m a need a chopper, I ain’t tryna go out bad I rather buy the honor
Judge me that’s god that he stay that he saved me, came up from the struggle that’s what made me, made me
They say god won’t give you more than you can bear no too many gone I’m thanking god I’m here I to learn to wipe my tears
Kocky Ka :
Had to learn to wipe my tears
Naaah
Cause no one got you like you got yourself the answers in the mirror
Now how it feels when you cry and no one ever hears you
They say god won’t put more on you then you can bare
I know he got me I ain’t worried yeah I know my time is near
Meek Mill :
We made it what they gone do about it, I was on this grind and on this time before they knew about
People want my soul I got my pole gotta shoot it out me, would’ve died for them they moving like they tryna shoot somebody
My young’n peeking Meek still ain’t get weak they tryna crucify him, he don’t know my bills 50 a week I’m coming thru for my Poppy
Czar be like pick me up from school what you gone do it and the jet cost 20 do you really want this money
Is you really down to feed you fam when everybody hungry in a mansion with a “M” on me like damn I be lonely
But be damn if I be fucked gotta stand on the corner with some grams on the corner and my aunt tryna buy some
Flood the whole hood your fucking mom probably try some, I’m chilling with a judge with a judge on me shotgun
So please don’t judge me cuz all my homies die young and I be chasing dreams they running nightmares where I’m from
And it ain’t no 911 that’s somebody son son they hit him 23 times in front his moms he a done bun
That’s why I’m giving a verse like this to Ka and don’t want nothing, I feel more satisfied if he survive get some munyun I’m the one one that’s facts
Kocky Ka
Had to learn to wipe my tears
Naaah
Cause no one got you like you got yourself the answers in the mirror
Now how it feels when you cry and no one ever hears you
They say god won’t put more on you then you can bare
I know he got me I ain’t worried yeah I know my time is near
Sometimes I ask myself how I really made it thru them hard times
Can’t let you sucka niggas trick me out my spot you got the wrong guy
From the bottom of the bottom told my dogs We gonna all rise yeah we gonna all rise
It’s gone be alright We made it thru them

Black Star arose from the underground movement of the late 1990s, which was in large part due to Rawkus Records, an independent record label stationed in New York City. They released one self titled album. Though the record achieved little commercial success, they (and other members of the Native Tongues Posse) helped shape underground alternative rap and helped bring it further into the mainstream eye. Both have gone on to greater commercial and critical success in separate solo careers.

Black Star's emergence into the hip-hop scene came at a crucial point in music history. Following the deaths of both Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur, hip-hop was consumed in a world of chaos. Black Star attempted to bring reconciliation in the wake of these violent deaths. The self titled album contains various references to Biggie and Tupac, and attempts to create reconciliation in the hip-hop world: "I said one, two, three. It's kinda dangerous to be an M.C. They shot Tupac and Biggie. Too much violence in hip-hop."

In 2001, Black Star performed "Money Jungle" with Ron Carter and John Patton for the Red Hot Organization's compilation album Red Hot + Indigo, a tribute to Duke Ellington, which raised money for various charities devoted to increasing AIDS awareness and fighting the disease. In 2005, hip hop website TheSituation.co.uk reported Kweli has said that a new Black Star album was "in the pipeline".[1] On Talib Kweli's Myspace he posted up a video saying that "We're going to find Mos Def and put it on camera that there will be a second Black Star album." In 2006, Mos and Kweli appeared together in the movie Dave Chappelle's Block Party, alongside Erykah Badu, Common, Jill Scott, Dead Prez and The Fugees, among others. They even contributed a new song, "Born & Raised", to the movie's soundtrack.

The first new Black Star song was leaked via DJ J Rocc from Stones Throw Records. The song is produced by Madlib and is titled "Fix Up". On October 5th 2011 they appeared on the Colbert Report and performed it for the first time.
