On September 4, 1996; 2Pac and Nas had a well known altercation that has never been brought to life until now. In this video I put together what actually took place that night at the MTV Video Music Awards. From countless interviews and articles. The timelines were placed close to what I researched from all parties involved. To complete the story I had to place in some assumptions from history, and previous interviews from both parties. 2pac was upset to find out that Nas was dissing him along with Mobb Deep at their shows, even though he ran into Nas at the House Of Blues some months prior; and it was all love. Nas was close to Mobb Deep who 2Pac dissed, and also got word that 2pac made some diss records directed at him. They both came face to face at the MTV Awards after party in New York. Hope you like the video. Thank you!

Drill music goes all the way back to 2011 when artists like Lil Durk and Chief Keef were first getting started. As the years went on Chicago ended up pioneering a lot of trends, nobody had ever heard of smoking dead opps until Chief Keef said he was smoking Tooka but after Chicago popularized the term the world ran with too the point where 10 years later songs like "Who I Smoke" were being made in places like Florida. Chicago was also the first time major gang wars were broadcasted like O'Block vs. Tookaville, Lamron vs Jojoworld, 300 vs 051, and 600 vs 051. Alongside Keef and Durk rappers like L'A Capone, RondoNumba9, G Herbo, Lil Bibby, and Young Pappy also blew up on the Drill scene and Drill took over the world inspiring UK Drill and later NY Drill.

They weren’t even supposed to be a real group but, that would all change when their very first song made waves on the dance, R&B and pop charts. After a couple of early member changes, the classic lineup of Shalamar would go on to experience several years of major success. Then, conflicts began to arise between the members and their record label as well as among the members themselves that would ruin everything.

The DeBarge Family were undoubtedly one of the 80's most influential pop groups. Their sound, style and voices were like no other. But from the moment they arrived in the industry, their lives were plagued by drug addiction and crime.
Their past with a father who was abusive to them and their mother, caused this group to spiral out of control; not being able to stop the torment they endured from the skeletons they kept in their closets.
In this video, we examine the life of the musical group DeBarge.

This is an exclusive interview I conducted with Queens born rap artist Majesty. He explains the orgins behind the rift between his older brother Stretch and 2pac. He addresses all the rumors, the drama with Jimmy Henchman, what Tupac meant by the infamous line on the song Against All Odds and much more.

All videos on this channel are created by me. I film my footage using a Cannon 4000D DSLR and also buy footage and images from royalty-free stock website Storyblocks for which I pay an annual membership. All the narrations are provided by me and or my guests and are exclusive for this channel. I interview guests and allow them to share their stories. I present these stories in a documentary style format. All the content has original commentary and narrative. My videos contain high quality edits and special effects to create truly unique content. I use Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premier and Adobe Photoshop to help create these video. All the music I use is from YouTube's Audio Library.

In this full-length interview, one of the greatest R&B singer/songwriters of all time, Smokey Robinson, details his upbringing in Detroit, where he lived in a packed house. He spoke about being one of 11 kids in the house, most of whom were his nieces and nephews who, due to closeness in age, were more like his siblings. He also discussed his father’s journey out of Selma, Alabama, into Detroit after stabbing a white kid who bullied him for years and fleeing town at only 12 years old.

Moving along, the legendary R&B singer recalls starting a vocal group in elementary school and later forming his first official band, The Five Chimes. He goes on to explain what inspired the group's inception before saying that they eventually evolved into The Miracles. As the discussion continues, he talks about growing up with a young Diana Ross and Aretha Franklin as his childhood neighbors.

Later, Smokey Robinson talks about growing up in Detroit when many of his friends were dabbling in criminal mischief and gang activity. He also talks about the experience of his former group, The Matadors, auditioning for Jackie Wilson's manager. The Motown legend explains that although the audition didn't go for the group, it served as his personal introduction to Barry Gordy, Jackie Wilson's primary songwriter.

As the conversation nears an end, he looks back on the first time he retired, the events leading up to recording his first album, being the Vice President of Motown Records. He also shares his thoughts on Michael Jackson's early releases as a solo artist before touching on his friendship with the late Rick James and the tragic murder of Marvin Gaye.

After holding on to this album for 2 years, Lil Yachty explains his intention to start a new chapter in his career with his psych-rock album ‘Let’s Start Here.’.

Lil Yachty sits down with Zane Lowe discuss his latest project, which became the #1 Rock Album in the country. Yachty explains how deeply Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side of The Moon’ inspires him, his music, and his approach to being an artist. Yachty also discusses his friendship with Drake and his experience collaborating with Mac DeMarco. Lil Yachty also discusses the creation and release of "Poland", and how that viral hit is a stark contrast from 'Let's Start Here.'.

This year's Black History Month celebration at the Tiny Desk features a carefully crafted lineup spanning many genres, generations and walks of life. Each artist represents the best in their class and will be performing at the Tiny Desk for the first time.

Ashley Pointer | February 15, 2023
Britanny Fousheé is not an artist who can be boxed in. When she first arrived at NPR headquarters, she had a very chill and collected aura surrounding her — despite the fact that the Grammys were being held the following weekend and a song she co-wrote, Steve Lacy's "Bad Habit," had received several nominations. Over the course of her four-song set at the Tiny Desk, the New Jersey-bred artist flexes her eclectic artistry and vocal range, taking us through a myriad of emotions.

In this performance, she's backed by Tobias Kelly on drums, Jake Strade on bass and Lilly Graves on guitar and takes us on a journey through her brief but very bold catalog. Opening with "spend the money" from softCORE, her debut grunge album that was rearranged to fit our intimate space, Fousheé lets acoustic guitars take the lead as her tender voice shimmers just above the surface while dynamic drums and bass lay a solid foundation. When the band transitions into "i'm fine," we hear more of Fousheé's half-whispered vocals right before she unleashes a full-fledged scream, forcefully affirming the song's title just right before sending us the sweetest smile. "Maybe I'm not fine, but are any of us?" Fousheé says to the crowd. "And it's OK to not be fine. It's all about balance."

She finds that balance as she closes out her performance with a couple of recognizable oldies but goodies: "single af," a ballad where her graceful falsetto floats over a soulful laid-back groove, and the big finale, "candy grapes," an elaborate song in which she showcases her impressive vocal range as she dares anyone to try her.

I still remember in 2005 when I was Introduced to Boyz N Da Hood by their video “Dem Boys” and remember immediately feeling that whoever the guy was with the dreds and Beanie, who laid a flawless southern hook perfect for the instrumental, and kinda reminded you of early Lil Wayne in sound and appearance was a star. Wayne was the hottest upcoming artist at the time, so any artist compared to him was guaranteed to at least get a look. Boyz N Da Hood had a chance to be the next big thing in Atlanta, and Jody Breeze could've been the featured star! What Happened To JODY BREEZE Becoming A Star? Stunted Growth Music

Virtually unknown to the world, then after an appearance on the 1980’s TV talent show called Star Search, Jimmy Salvemini had clearly made an impression on Luther Vandross.
Luther had just finished producing Jimmy’s album, and the plan was to take Jimmy and his brother Lawrence - who was also his manager - to listen to the final product, and afterwards, go and celebrate at dinner.
Then life threw the biggest curveball ever. Luther Vandross ended up driving his Mercedes Benz on the wrong side of the road for just long enough to collide with oncoming traffic, killing one of his passengers.
It's another one of Ti's Hot Mess History scandals.

LYRICS:

Bubblegum dog
Tell me what the truth is
Isn’t this bed a log?
Doesn’t that confuse things?
Shouldn’t I run?
Isn’t that the white man?
None of this seems like fun
But maybe that’s the point man?

For years I’ve strung you along
Afraid of the Bubblegum dog
And it’s finally catching up with me
I hope it’s a false alarm
‘Cause the pain of the bubblegum dog
It’s finally catching up with me

Who’da believe I saw
Tenement homes
Built upon a fault line
Juvenile quetzal birds
Living in the coal mine
Manicured lawns
Tibetan straw men
Igneous basketballs
Drifting through the heavens

I hate this earthly world
But hate is a very strong word
And it’s finally catching up with me
The years of plodding on
In fear of the Bubblegum dog
It’s finally catching up with me

So I’ll pray it won’t be long
I’ll wake up and it’s all gone
You and me
We’ll keep it calm
My Bubblegum dog

Solo

The shame of vitriol
Aimed at the Bubblegum dog
It’s finally catching up with me
I hate this bubblegum world
But hate is a very strong word
And it’s finally catching up with me

So we’ll hide until it’s gone
Boil the ones that don’t belong
Pay the man to keep it on
Days are short and nights are long
Bang our heads against the gong
Maybe tinkle on the lawn
One for all and all for one
My Bubblegum dog
