Das Quintett um Gitarrist/Sänger William Turner und Sängerin Georgie Fuller ist selbstbewusst retro. The Heavy Heavy machen Rock'n'Roll in reinster Form, zeitlos interpretiert und voller Spielfreude.

Lyrics:

They put a parking lot on a piece of land
Where the supermarket used to stand
Before that, they put up a bowling alley
On the site that used to be the local palais
That's where the big bands used to come and play
My sister went there on a Saturday
Come dancing
All her boyfriends used to come and call
Why not come dancing?
It's only natural
Another Saturday, another date
She would be ready, but she'd always make him wait
In the hallway, in anticipation
He didn't know the night would end up in frustration
He'd end up blowing all his wages for the week
All for a cuddle and a peck on the cheek
Come dancing
That's how they did it when I was just a kid
And when they said "come dancing"
My sister always did
My sister should have come in a midnight
And my mom would always sit up and wait
It always ended up in a big row
When my sister used to get home late
Out of my window I could see them in the moonlight
Two silhouettes saying good night by the garden gate
What are you doing out there? Come on, you're gonna be out there all night?
The day they knocked down the palais
My sister stood and cried
The day they knocked down the palais
Part of my childhood died, just died
Now I'm grown up and playing in a band
And there's a car park where the palais used to stand
My sister's married and she lives on an estate
Her daughters go out, now it's her turn to wait
She knows they get away with things she never could
But if I asked her I wonder if she would
Come dancing
Come on sister, have yourself a ball
Don't be afraid to come dancing
It's only natural
Come dancing
Just like the palais on a Saturday
And all your friends would come dancing
While the big bands used to play

Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
You always used to smile when you held your guitar
But now it feels like a reminder that you ain't got too far
Strumming strings used to feel like breathing
But now it takes your breath away
Counting years, counting reasons
Why it won't work, but what if it does?
What if tomorrow, all those closed doors open but

[Chorus]
If you give up, if you give in
You should know that you're not the only one who's losing
What if there's a little girl who needs a song
Telling her she's beautiful when the world tells her she's wrong?
So before you say you're not good enough
That all your dreams are wishing dust
You call it quits, walk away and say you're through
What if it ain't about you?

[Verse 2]
Comparison can kill your faith
Watching people win when you're just begging for a break
You're happy for 'em, you cheer 'em on
But the whole time you're overthinking
Wondering what you're doing wrong
Are you crazy for believing in
Something everyone told you that you would never get?

[Chorus]
But if you give up, if you give in
You should know that you're not the only one who's losing
What if there's a little boy who needs a safe place to cry
When the whole world says to suck it up just 'cause he's a guy
So before you say you're not good enough
That all your dreams are wishing dust
You call it quits, walk away and say you're through
What if it ain't about you?

[Bridge]
If you throw it all away
You're telling God He made a mistake
But He never makes them
Maybe you should have some patience
There's purpose in the wait

[Chorus]
'Cause if you give up, if you give in
You should know that you're not the only one who's losing
What if there's a heart that needs some hope
And finds it in the words that you almost never wrote
So before you say you're not good enough
That all your dreams are wishing dust
You call it quits, walk away and say you're through
What if it ain't about you?

[Outro]
What if it ain't about you?
What if it ain't about you?

Lyrics:
Yeah,
Why you callin’ at 11:30
When you only wanna do me dirty
But I hit right back ‘cause you got that that, yeah

Why you always wanna act like lovers
But you never wanna be each other’s
I say don’t look back but I go right back and

All the sudden I’m hypnotized
You’re the one that I can’t deny
Every time that I say I’m gonna walk away

You turn me on like a light switch
When your moving your body around and around
Now I don’t wanna fight this (No)
You know how to just make me want you
turn me on like a light switch
When your moving your body around and around
You got me in a tight grip (Yeah)
You know how to just make me want you, baby

Do you love it when you keep me guessing?
When you leave and then you leave me stressing?
But I cant stay mad when you walk like that, no

Why you always wanna act like lovers
But you never wanna be each other’s
I say don’t look back but I go right back and

All a sudden I’m hypnotized
You’re the one that I can’t deny
Every time that I say I’m gonna walk away

You turn me on like a light switch
When your movin’ your body around and around
No, I don’t wanna fight this (No)
You know how to just make me want you
You turn me on like a light switch (Switch)
When your movin’ your body around and around
You got me in a tight grip (Grip)
You know how to just make me want you, baby

C’mon, C’mon, C’mon, C’mon, C’mon and show me how you do (Do)
You want, you want, you want, you want, you want me to keep wantin’ you (wantin’ you girl)
C’mon, C’mon, C’mon, C’mon, C’mon and show me how you do (How you do)
You want, you want, you want, you want, you want me to keep wantin’ you

You turn me on like a light switch
When your movin’ your body around and around
No, I don’t wanna fight this
You know how to just make me want to
You turn me on like a light switch
When your movin’ your body around and around
You got me in a tight grip
You know how to just make me want you, baby

C’mon, C’mon, C’mon, C’mon, C’mon and show me how you do
You want, you want, you want, you want, you want me to keep wantin’ you
C’mon, C’mon, C’mon, C’mon, C’mon and show me how you do
You want, you want, you want, you want, you want me to keep wantin’ you

"The Bridge" Lyrics:
Over water there’s a bridge and I can’t seem to get to you
The fear of a loss what I always succumb to
The way that I feel I can’t capture it all
Like the waves that I sink in when you tell me that I’m not
Enough shut up cause I’d kill myself for you
Walk in the dark I can’t find my way to you
Gone gave it all and it’s all my fault that I
Chose to keep holding on to the love you
Threw away but I’d stay just to see you make it
I’m stuck in my ways so you know I’m not faking
You thought I was simple so you got complicated
Don’t you get complicated that's the reason that we separate
The water rising faster now before and after climbing up the latter screaming at me
louder
So let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go, let her go ahhaa, So let it go, let it go, let
it go, let it go, let it go, let her go ahhaa
