"When you're all over him, I hope you're all over me/I got a king size bed just missing a queen..." That's the kind of couplet that helps a song plant a major foothold on a listener, and country upstart Josh Ross packs mucho emotion into those "Single Again" lines. In an instant, you know what it's like to stand in his shoes. The Ontario native was a sports head before he was a music head; he knows his way around a gridiron. But after earning some dap by co-leading a regional band called Silver Lining in the late 2010s, he started taking songs and songwriting a bit more seriously. 2022 gave us the impressive "First Taste of Gone," and then he made hay as a finalist in SiriusXM's 'Top Of The Country' contest. A 'Rising Star' nom by the Canadian Country Music Awards also proved he wasn't just spinnin' his wheels. When the start of 2023 brought the mighty "Trouble," and "Ain't Doin' Jack" hit last summer, he was on his way. Ross just dropped his first full project, 'Complicated.' We listened and listened and thought more folks should have him on their radar. His performances of "Single Again" and "Trouble" hit the bullseye. He knows how to captivate a crowd. Which means it would be wise to see him this summer. After a stop at the always-fun Stagecoach Festival in Cali, he heads to the UK, and then circles back home for dates in Canada and the US.
