Lyrics:
It's pouring in
You’re laid on the floor again
One knock at the door and then
We both know how the story ends
You can’t win if your white flag’s out when the war begins
Aiming so high but swinging so low
Trying to catch fire but feeling so cold
Hold it inside and hope it won’t show
I’m saying it’s not but inside I know

Today’s gonna be the day you notice
Cause I’m tired of explaining what the joke is

This is what you asked for
Heavy is the crown
Fire in the sunrise
Ashes raining down
Try to hold it in but
It keeps bleeding out
This is what you asked for
Heavy is the
Heavy is the crown

Turn to run
Now look what it's become
Outnumbered ten to one
Back then should've bit your tongue
'Cause there’s no turning back this path once it’s begun
You’re already on that list
Say you don’t want what you can't resist
Waving that sword when the pen won’t miss
Watch it all falling apart like this

This is what you asked for
Heavy is the crown
Fire in the sunrise
Ashes raining down
Try to hold it in but it
It keeps bleeding out
This is what you asked for
Heavy is the
Heavy is the crown

Today’s gonna be the day you notice
Cause I’m tired of explaining what the joke is

THIS IS WHAT YOU ASKED FOR
This is what you asked for
Heavy is the crown
Fire in the sunrise
Ashes raining down
Try to hold it in but it
It keeps bleeding out
This is what you asked for
Heavy is the
Heavy is the crown
Heavy is the crown
Heavy is the
Heavy is the crown

Lyrics:
I was all but 22
I think at the time
I’d been out on the road
Lonely at night
It’d been a while
So it was on my mind
Well I saw him walk in
With his cowboy hat
And I thought to myself
I could use some of that
His boots like glass on a saw dust floor
Had moves like nothin’ I’d ever seen before
So I walked right up
I pulled him to the side
I handed him a beer and looked him right in the eye
And I said “Baby, I think you’re gonna wanna hear this”
I said

Excuse me,
You look like you love me
You look like you want me
To want you to come on home
And baby I don’t blame you
For lookin’ me up and down across this room
I’m drunk and I’m ready to leave
And you look like you love me

Well I was down at the local beer joint with a few of the guys
When this cute little country girl caught my eye
And boy let me tell you she was the prettiest thing i’d ever seen in a pair of boots
Well she walked right up to me, handed me a beer
Gave me a look like, lets get outta here
And that's when I realized that she was every cowboys dream come true
She told me this right here, she said..

Excuse me,
You look like you love me
You look like you want me
To want you to come on home
And baby I don’t blame you
For lookin’ me up and down across this room
I’m drunk and I’m ready to leave
And you look like you love me
So if you ever see a man in a cowboy hat

And you think to yourself
I could use some of that
Don’t waste your time
Just give ‘em this here line
Goes a little like this
Excuse me,
You look like you love me
You look like you want me
To want you to come on home
And baby I don’t blame you
For lookin’ me up and down across this room
I’m drunk and I’m ready to leave
And you look like you love me
I’m drunk and I’m ready to leave
And you look like you love me

Amerie sat down twice with Questlove Supreme for this extended episode. The conversation examines the singer's upbringing and passion for reading and information. The self-proclaimed "military brat" explains how her years in Washington D.C. informed her musical taste and why she created albums with a different sound than many of her R&B contemporaries. Amerie also speaks about her breakthrough songs, label woes, and why she does not believe in charging for features. This episode is for QLS listeners who enjoy our trademark rabbit holes—with twists, turns, and laughs.

Lyrics:

Zee you're all that I have and you're all that I need
Each and every day I pray to get to know you please
I want to be close to you, yes I'm so hungry
You're like water for my soul when it gets thirsty
Without you there's no me
You're the air that I breathe
Say sometimes the world is dark and I just can't see
With these, demons surround all around to bring me down to negativity
But I believe, yes I believe, I said I believe
I'll stand on my own two feet
Won't be brought down on one knee
Fight with all of my might and get these demons to flee
Hashem's rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe
Hashem's rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe
Out of darkness comes light, twilight unto the heights
Crown Heights burnin' up all through till twilight
Said, thank you to my God, now I finally got it right
And I'll fight with all of my heart, and all a' my soul, and all a' my might

What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you now from the essence of my being
And I sing to my God, songs of love and healing
I want Moshiach now, time it starts revealing
What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you now from the essence of my being
And I sing to my God, songs of love and healing
I want Moshiach now. ya

“EX” Lyrics:

Hey, yeah
We done came too far for this, I'm so tired of arguing
It's too late for X and O's, I don't want no part in this
Whenever you get mad
I always leave and give you the silent treatment
You know in your heart, I'm decent
Everything you buy, you keep it
We can still be friends
If you don't get dumb and try to tell our secrets
I know one day, you'll see all the simple shit I tried to teach you
I know it get worse 'cause nowadays, I hardly ever greet you
It was nice to meet you
We went from 2 AM calls to zero communication, yeah
We spent too long in heaven that we felt the elevation
Just 'cause it's different and we're not the same
Doesn't mean things have to change
I got no trouble with my pride, got trouble cutting ties
I don't wanna be your ex, we're way too good at being friends
Can we still hangout on the low, get wild?
I don't wanna be your, I don't wanna be your
Hit your girl up with a text when you're alone and feeling stressed
I don't gotta be in love with you to love you
I don't wanna be your, so don't treat me like your
E-e-e-e, e-e-ex
I don't want to be your
E-e-e-e, e-e-ex
Let's skip the awkward run-ins
Or pretending like we're strangers
And get back to how we started, yeah
Don't pour water on fire
Just 'cause it's different and we're not the same
Doesn't mean things have to change
I got no trouble with my pride, got trouble cutting ties
I don't wanna be your ex, we're way too good at being friends
Can we still hangout on the low, get wild?
I don't wanna be your, I don't wanna be your
I don't wanna be your ex, we're way too good at being friends
Can we still hangout on the low, get wild?
I don't wanna be your, I don't wanna be your
Hit your girl up with a text when you're alone and feeling stressed
I don't gotta be in love with you, to love you
I don't wanna be your, so don't treat me like your
E-e-e-e, e-e-ex
I don't want to be your
E-e-e-e, e-e-ex
E-e-e-e, e-e-ex
I don't want to be your
E-e-e-e, e-e-ex

Born With a Broken Heart

I’ve been tryin’ to change (oooh)
Tryin to find somebody to love me
Oh Love but I end up in the same damn place again
Hopin I could be different
But I’d be playin’ pretend

I wish that I was perfect (just like you)
But I’m an alien
Oh love I’m sending out an sos, take me home
We’re not meant to be together, no

What if I said I’m trying
To save your love from dying
Baby I’m too far gone
Don’t wanna see you crying
But I just know who I am
Maybe that’s the hardest part ohhh
Baby you can’t fix me
I was born with a broken heart

If I was a cactus (ohhh)
You would be a balloon
Oh love
I wanna feel the same as humans do
I wanna feel the same as you, but I don’t

What if I said I’m trying
To save your love from dying
Baby I’m too far gone
Don’t wanna see you crying

But I just know who I am
Maybe that’s the hardest part ohhh
Baby you can’t fix me
I was born with a broken heart

Ahhhhhhh
Ahhhhhhh
I’m sorry
That I’m leaving
Ahhhhhhh
Ahhhhhhh
I’m sorry
We’re just different
But baby you can’t fix me

What if I said I’m trying
To save your love from dying
Baby I’m too far gone
Don’t wanna see you crying
But I just know who I am
Maybe that’s the hardest part ohhh
Baby you can’t fix me
Baby you can’t fix me
Baby you can’t fix me
I was born with a broken heart

Grammy Award-winning US rapper Lil Durk has been arrested on a charge of murder-for-hire, according to CBS News, the BBC's US partner. Police records seen by US media show the star, real name Durk Devontay Banks, was arrested in Broward County, Florida, on Thursday night and is being held without bail. The arrest comes a day after five people with ties to Banks' hip-hop group, Only The Family (OTF), were reported to have been charged in Chicago in connection with a 2022 shooting that killed the cousin of rival rapper Quando Rondo.

Troi Torain aka STAR is a multimedia personality whose career has spanned the arenas of radio, television and the world-wide web. Considered a radio pioneer by many, Torain's personal brand STAR & BUC WILD has set precedents in the urban landscape. STAR made the national stage on MTV in 1999 (Beat Suite) but it was his radio shows on New York's Hot 97 and Power 105 that launched him into super stardom. Torain's resume also includes WEA (Warner Elektra Atlantic), Virgin Records, The Source magazine, Power 104.1 (Hartford), Power 99 (Philly), Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, Vladtv.com, 100.3 The Beat (Philly) shot97.com, VH1 (The Gossip Game) Everyday Struggle (Complex) and The Star Report. In 2011 STAR was also inducted into News Ones Top 20 greatest radio personalities of all time -- https://troitorain.org
