Lyrics:

Siphon all the blood from the freshly killed body
Preparing the corpse for its precious memorial
Eyes are sewn to stay shut the windows of their soul
Cold dead skin soft to the touch
I am now aroused
The corpse displayed beautifully
Rotted entanglement
I’m lusting for the dead
Their nails dig in as I deeply pleasure them
The body lies down straight and dead still
A sight that gives me a rise
Heartbeat climbs
It raises for us both
Heartbeat climbs
Rotted entanglement
Siphon all the blood from the freshly killed body
Prepare the corpse for the farewell
A sight we’d hate to see
Eyes are sewn to stay shut
The windows of their soul
Cold dead skin soft to the touch
Brains fucked out
The corpse displayed beautifully
Rotted entanglement
Cadaverous defilement
The corpse I yearn to love
Their soul is forever mine my love
Climax our love isn’t dead
Death rush, our hearts grown as one
Putrid necromance
I keep them for myself
Putrid lust
Their kept for myself
Unholy matrimony
Whoever said death til us part
Whoever did does not feel love
Whoever said death til us part
Could lie down dead or go fuck themselves
A live so pure I’ll forever hold
Stay together as we grow old and mold
Whoever said death til us part
Could lie down dead or go fuck themselves

PUP: Tiny Desk Concert Hotney 2 vistas • 1 año hace

Robin Hilton | July 24, 2025
Existential dread never sounded more joyful or uplifting than it does in the hands of PUP. Across its catalog of albums, like the appropriately titled Morbid Stuff or The Dream is Over, the Canadian pop-punk group confronts world-weary discontent with deadpan humor, hard-earned wisdom and a lot of heart.

For the group's long-overdue Tiny Desk, PUP (an acronym for Pathetic Use of Potential) rips through five songs, opening with the restlessly hooky "Morbid Stuff," followed by "Robot Writes a Love Song," from 2022's The Unraveling of PUPTheBand, and "Hallways," a driving anthem about staying alive in the face of struggle, if only to take care of your dog.

Outside of the songs, frontman Stefan Babcock doesn't say a word during the set, but beams playfully through much of it, even after he sings, "I've been navigating my way through the mind-numbing reality of a godless existence," from the 2019 track "Kids." The band closes with the pop-leaning "Hunger for Death," from PUP's latest album, Who Will Look After the Dogs? Trying hard not to break character, Babcock leans in with, "F*** everyone in this office," before adding, "especially me."

Lyrics:
It’s so silly of me to act like I don’t need you bad
When all, all I can think about is us since I seen you last I know I didn't have to walk away
All I had to do was ask for space
I’m telling you, be on your way
When I told you to fall back

So can you come pick up your clothes I have them folded Meet me at the door while it’s still open
I know it’s getting cold out, but it’s not frozen
So come pick up your clothes I have them folded

I’ll let your body decide if this is good enough for you Already folding it for you
Already folding it for you
I’ll let your body decide if this is good enough for you Already folding it for you
Already folded up for you

No matter what you do to switch the story up, I know I made my mark And I would still choose you through it all
That’s the crazy part (crazy part)
I don't need no more empty promises
Promise me that you got it
I don't need roses
Just need some flowers from my garden
Can’t you go back to how you loved on me when you started?
I’ll be here begging for ya
You should be giving me love all damn day
‘Til the day is done
So if you wanna go that way, I’ll be waiting on

For you to come pick up your clothes I have them folded Meet me at the door while it’s still open
I know it’s getting cold out, but it’s not frozen
So come pick up your clothes I have them folded
So come pick up your clothes I have them folded
Meet me at the door while it’s still open
I know it’s getting cold out, but tell me that it’s not frozen So come pick up your clothes I have them folded

I’ll let your body decide if this is good enough for you Already folded it for you
Already folding up for

The official YouTube channel of Atlantic Records artist Kehlani.

It doesn’t really need an explanation—you know exactly what Kehlani means when she sings. Without sugarcoating or softening a word, the Bay Area-born two-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum songstress will drop a hard truth in one breath and flip a middle finger in the next. She may extend a seductive invitation or an empathetic plea before leaving you in your thoughts and feelings. Either way, she finds a way to consistently relate without filter. With each move, she strengthens this connection to listeners everywhere. Kehlani’s 2015 breakout mixtape You Should Be Here received a 2016 GRAMMY® Award nod in the category of “Best Urban Contemporary Album.” On its heels, her 2017 full-length debut SweetSexySavage bowed at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 and eventually went gold. Between selling out dates on the SweetSexySavage Tour, the record closed out the year on Pitchfork’s “The 50 Best Albums of 2017” and Rolling Stone’s “20 Best R&B Albums of 2017.”

Along the way, she contributed to Suicide Squad: The Album and The Fate of the Furious: The Album and guested on Cardi B’s double-platinum “Ring,” Kyle’s platinum “PLAYINWITME,” and Justin Bieber’s “Get Me,” to name a few. By 2020, she picked up three gold solo singles—"You Should Be Here,” “Honey,” and “Distraction,” for which she received her second GRAMMY® nomination for Best R&B performance. In addition, four platinum singles—“Gangsta,” “The Way” [feat. Chance the Rapper], “CRZY,” and “Nights Like This” [feat. Ty Dolla $ign] and streams in the billions. Not to mention, Billboard Women In Music honored her with the “Rule Breaker Award” as she gathered nominations at the Soul Train Awards and the American Music Awards. Plus, she made show-stopping appearances at Voodoo Music + More, Coachella, and beyond. In the aftermath of 2019’s chart-topping While We Wait mixtape, everything changed. She became a mom. As such, parenthood left an indelible imprint on her second full-length, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t. Out May 8th, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t is described by Kehlani as her most mature body of work, featuring songs based on her own real experiences including recently released “Toxic” and “Everybody Business.” In the end, you’ll know exactly what’s on Kehlani’s mind, heart, and soul on It Was Good Until It Wasn’t.

Intro (Brian)
I just pull up under that sycamore tree
With an ice cold beer and a bag full of trees
Ya little country girl looking so damn fine And You ain't gotta wonder where I wanna spend my time
Oh living on a backroad
Just living on a backroad
Oh living on a backroad
Just living on a backroad

Verse 1 (Clay)
See I practice what preach about
All I wanna be is south
Never been the one to try to fit in or just Reach it out
I ain’t had to stretch the truth
Country boy is what I do
I bleed that red and black and I’m gonna say it til I’m black and blue
Rollin on a backroad hitting 25
With a Cooler in the seat Pretty thing by my side
We can take our time baby We ain’t gotta rush
Put that seat back and recline I ain’t worried about much
I just wanna ride along what kind of life is by a phone
Social media depictions making people Die alone
You give a damn Mine is gone
Instagram guess mine is wrong
I just live my life the way I want now play that ridin song

Chorus (Brian)
I just pull up under that sycamore tree
With an ice cold beer and a bag full of trees
Ya little country girl looking so damn fine And You ain't gotta wonder where I wanna spend my time
Oh living on a backroad
Just living on a backroad
Oh living on a backroad
Just living on a backroad

Verse 2 (Brian)
Hydro sticky icky got me stuck up on your kisses, drip of honey get the munchies whined up in grandmama kitchen
hit the creek later on show you my big cannon ball, guess my jaw must have dropped when she took everything off
She said what if we get caught, I said don't worry bout that, hey Cause the closest around us is them ole railroad tracks
Baby don't you hear the crickets and the whiper wills
Though we may see a chugging tractor out there digging fields
Baby chill, we all good, we dip out, to the woods, we alone, what you think, wanna smoke, wanna drink
I swear Sometimes you get the wrong impression bout me
I'm just a back road living, hunting, fishing og

Chorus (Brian)

River Tiber: Tiny Desk Concert Hotney 2 vistas • 1 año hace

Bobby Carter | August 5, 2025
River Tiber's Tiny Desk is one of the most brilliant games of musical chairs I've ever seen. It may come as a surprise, considering that in the studio, he's pretty much a one-man army. Here, the Toronto native takes his turn at the piano, drums, bass and trombone while his bandmates Justin Nozuka, Dan Only and John Mavro trade instruments and sing along, pushing the barriers of what can happen in this small space.

Since I discovered River Tiber on Kaytranada's 2016 debut album, 99.9%, he's maintained a somewhat enigmatic presence — River Tiber's out-of-focus portraits on album covers and across his social media communicate a mystic aura, which lends itself to the music. When he walked into the building, it was one of the first times I got a good look at the guy. However, his profile isn't too low, as he's landed work with the likes of Travis Scott and Post Malone. At the Desk, he plays "Hypnotized," the song Kendrick Lamar sampled, along with other highlights from his latest album, Dreaming Eyes.

Lyrics
Written By: Molly Tuttle, Ketch Secor, Trannie Anderson, & Paul Sikes

Off a no-name road on Chickasaw Bluff
Feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up
When you see those cypress roots that wind
‘Round a marble stone says Bill O’Brian
Legend lives the old folks tell
The ghost of a lawman haunts these hills
Looking for the woman that shot him down
And the .44that was never found
Under that Chickasaw ground

Rosalee
You better run before they hunt you down in Tennessee
Damn that deputy
‘Cause a jealous heart ain’t worth the cost
Of hanging from the gallows tree
And what if they find out just who fired the gun
Rosalee, you better run

More thorn than rose how oft’ they’d say
Of the girl with the golden hair in braids
Raven eyes and her copper kettle
Charmed the hearts of the best bootleggers
Bill O’Brian moved in on the bluff
He laid the law down a little too rough
Busting every keg and still
‘Til he fell in love with that whiskey gal
If I can’t have her, no man will

Rosalee
You better run before they hunt you down in Tennessee
Damn that deputy‘
Cause a jealous heart ain’t worth the cost
Of hanging from the gallows tree
And what if they find out just who fired the gun
Rosalee, you better run

What if they knew Miss Betty Lou
Had seen him at the dance that night
What if they noticed Otis Johnson begging him not to fight
What if they heard his final words layin’ by the cypress tree
Rosalee, Rosalee

Off a no-name road on Chickasaw Bluff
There’s a wise old woman with a whiskey jug
Some say saint,some say killer
They never could prove who pulled that trigger
Beneath those cypress roots that wind
The secret died with Bill O’Brian
He’ll follow her to the depths of hell
Mix love and whiskey,it won’t end well
Sometimes you can hear him yell

Rosalee
You’d better run before they hunt you down in Tennessee
Damn that deputy‘
Cause a jealous heart ain’t worth the cost
Of hanging from the gallows tree
And what it they find out just who fired the gun
Rosalee,you better run
Rosalee, Rosalee
