Amber Rose On Kanye West, Joseline Hernandez, Diddy Parties, Taylor Swift, & Kim Kardashian

In this episode of Club Shay Shay, Shannon Sharpe sits down with the one and only Amber Rose—a model, entrepreneur, activist, and media personality who has been a cultural force for nearly two decades. Amber opens up about growing up in South Philly, overcoming a tough childhood, and her early dreams of becoming an epidemiologist after witnessing the impact of HIV/AIDS in her community.

Amber doesn’t hold back as she shares her struggles with homelessness, her early days stripping at 15, and her journey into the world of video vixens and modeling. She speaks candidly about falling in love with Kanye West, love bombing, and how Kanye styled not just her, but also Kim Kardashian and his current wife, Bianca Censori. Despite everything, she admits she still has a special place in her heart for Kanye and reflects on their time together.

From her experiences in Hollywood’s elite circles to the harsh truth about the entertainment industry being purely transactional, Amber drops major gems about friendships gone wrong, co-parenting with Wiz Khalifa, and why she’s no longer a feminist. She also dishes on celebrity drama, from Cardi B & Offset’s public breakup to Draya & Jalen Green’s relationship.

Amber also revisits the infamous 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift’s speech to declare that Beyoncé’s Single Ladies deserved the award. She shares her thoughts on that controversial moment, calling it “crazy” that Taylor won over Beyoncé, and reflecting on her time with Kanye during that era.

She also opens up about her struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic, including postpartum depression, mental health battles, and finding out her boyfriend was cheating on her during one of the toughest times of her life.
Plus, Amber addresses plastic surgery, dating rumors, and wild industry parties, including what really went down at Diddy’s legendary events. She even gives her take on Drake’s criticism, Kanye’s controlling ways, and the entertainment industry’s biggest secrets.

No topic is off-limits in this raw and revealing conversation. Tap in now!

Lyrics:
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, I don't write raps
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, talk, talk, talk
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, I don't write raps
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, talk, talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk….
Tell her, "Give me that, give me those, give me"
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, talk, talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk….
Swipe a pretty bitch right off her feet, this a hijack
Why your nigga flexin' like he me? Ain't even like that
Bitch mistake my newest pinky ring for a ice pack
Shorty keep on damn requestin' me about some Snapchat
I don't even like rats, invested into mice traps
Pull up to the trenches, all my jewelry, yeah, I'm like that
I just put my finger in the- (ow) 'cause she like that
Don't compare that pussy boy to me
Feelin' like I'm Sosa, Chiefie Keef
Tired of them niggas sleepin' on me, I don't like naps
Niggas fuck around and stole the flow and y'all like that?
Okay, okay, and I'm right back
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, I don't write raps
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, talk, talk, talk
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, I don't write raps
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, talk, talk, talk
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, I don't write raps
A$AP right up on my gut and that's a life tat'
Walk inside the booth, I just talk, talk, talk, talk

The official YouTube channel of Atlantic Records artist Kehlani.

It doesn’t really need an explanation—you know exactly what Kehlani means when she sings. Without sugarcoating or softening a word, the Bay Area-born two-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum songstress will drop a hard truth in one breath and flip a middle finger in the next. She may extend a seductive invitation or an empathetic plea before leaving you in your thoughts and feelings. Either way, she finds a way to consistently relate without filter. With each move, she strengthens this connection to listeners everywhere. Kehlani’s 2015 breakout mixtape You Should Be Here received a 2016 GRAMMY® Award nod in the category of “Best Urban Contemporary Album.” On its heels, her 2017 full-length debut SweetSexySavage bowed at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 and eventually went gold. Between selling out dates on the SweetSexySavage Tour, the record closed out the year on Pitchfork’s “The 50 Best Albums of 2017” and Rolling Stone’s “20 Best R&B Albums of 2017.”

Along the way, she contributed to Suicide Squad: The Album and The Fate of the Furious: The Album and guested on Cardi B’s double-platinum “Ring,” Kyle’s platinum “PLAYINWITME,” and Justin Bieber’s “Get Me,” to name a few. By 2020, she picked up three gold solo singles—"You Should Be Here,” “Honey,” and “Distraction,” for which she received her second GRAMMY® nomination for Best R&B performance. In addition, four platinum singles—“Gangsta,” “The Way” [feat. Chance the Rapper], “CRZY,” and “Nights Like This” [feat. Ty Dolla $ign] and streams in the billions. Not to mention, Billboard Women In Music honored her with the “Rule Breaker Award” as she gathered nominations at the Soul Train Awards and the American Music Awards. Plus, she made show-stopping appearances at Voodoo Music + More, Coachella, and beyond. In the aftermath of 2019’s chart-topping While We Wait mixtape, everything changed. She became a mom. As such, parenthood left an indelible imprint on her second full-length, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t. Out May 8th, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t is described by Kehlani as her most mature body of work, featuring songs based on her own real experiences including recently released “Toxic” and “Everybody Business.” In the end, you’ll know exactly what’s on Kehlani’s mind, heart, and soul on It Was Good Until It Wasn’t.

Lyrics:
You hit like a drunk cigarette
The feeling amplified
By saying things we never meant
(Oh yeah)

You leave me filled with regret
At the end of the night
I always find myself wondering why
(Oh yeah)

Do you got plans for life
Cause I don’t wanna just romance tonight
I wanna see you in another light (oh yeah)
With rhythm there is rhyme
With you there always can be I
I wanna see you in another light (ooh)

I don’t wanna talk down on your lover
I don’t wanna be a homewrecker
I just know I can be better, be better, be better
I don’t wanna talk down on your lover
I don’t wanna be a broken record
I just know I can be better, be better, be better

We sit on the fire escape
We talk and talk ‘till dawn
I open up to you about my wrongs
(Oh yeah)

Then we lay and contemplate
Just one more round of love
Before you go home to another one

Do you got plans for life
Cause I don’t wanna just romance tonight
I wanna see you in another light (oh yeah)
With rhythm there is rhyme
With you there always can be I
I wanna see you in another light (ooh)

I don’t wanna talk down on your lover
I don’t wanna be a homewrecker
I just know I can be better, be better, be better
I don’t wanna talk down on your lover
I don’t wanna be a broken record
I just know I can be better, be better, be better

I don’t wanna be how you formulate opinions on astrology (oh no)
Or to say we made peace and then your friends don’t even wanna talk to me no more
No more
I wanna kiss you on the bed and on the floor
When I’m poor, when I’m bored
I am yours, I am yours, I am yours

I don’t wanna talk down on your lover
I don’t wanna be a homewrecker
I just know I can be better, be better, be better
I don’t wanna talk down on your lover
I don’t wanna be a broken record
I just know I can be better, be better, be better

Lyrics:

Through the rose colored lenses
And the white picket fences
No matter how good this is
It could never satisfy

When it’s you that I’m missing
Now I sit in the kitchen
Through the windowpane I watch the day turn to night

It ain’t a mystery
That every time you leave
That’s when I feel the most alone oh

Oo, don’t you know
That you’re the one who makes this house a home
And so, when you go,
It feels so cold without the soul
You’re the one who makes this house a home

一人の時間も大切 (Time alone is also precious)
誰にも妥協せず (Not compromising to anyone)
私だけのお城を築いた (I built my very own castle)
But it’s you I was missing
君に毎日ただいまと言わせてください (Please let me say “I’m home” to you every day)

行ってらっしゃい (Have a good day)
君がいないこの家は好きじゃない (I don’t like this house without you in it)

Oo, don’t you know
That you’re the one who makes this house a home
And so, when you go
夏でも凍えちゃいそう (I fear I may freeze even in summer)
君の温もりがhome (Your warmth is home)

You’re the one who makes this house a home
You’re the one who makes this house a home

It ain’t a mystery
That every time you leave
That’s when I feel the most alone oh
当たり前になりそうな時 (When it’s about to be taken for granted)
思い出してほしい (I hope you’ll remember)

Oo, don’t you know
That you’re the one who makes this house a home
And so, when you go
It feels so cold without a soul
You’re the one who makes this house a home

ある日楽園で目が覚めても (Even if I wake up in paradise one day)
君がいなきゃ長居しないね (Without you there I wouldn’t stay long)
どんな豪邸手に入れたって (Even if I owned a dream mansion)
君がいなきゃハリボテ同然 (Without you there it would be mere façade)

You’re the one
You’re the one

LYRICS:

Intro:
I just want to make this clear
I am a believer
But Sometimes it gets hard
My name is Dax

Dear god
There’s a lot of questions that I have about the past
And I don’t want hear it from a human you made so you’re the last person that I’m ever going to ask
Tell me what’s real
Tell me what’s fake
Why is everything on about you a debate?
What’s the point of love?
Every time I’ve showed it I was broken and it’s forced me just to only want to hate
Why’s there only one you but multiple religions?
Why does ever conversation end in a division?
Why does everybody want to tell us how to live but they won’t listen to the same damn message that they giving?
Tel me how to feel
Tell me what’s wrong
I tried to call, pick up the phone
I’m on my own
Everybody says you’re coming back then man why the hells it taking so long?
Why do I hurt?
Why is there pain?
Why does everything good always have to change?
Why does everybody try to profit off another mans work then destroy it just for monetary gain?

Tell me are you black or are you white?
I don’t even really care I just really want to know what’s right
They been saying one thing but I’ve been looking in the book and it seems like they’ve been lying for my whole damn life.

Tell me where I’m going
is it heaven or hell?
I just hope this message greats you well
I had a dream that I was walking with the devil I don’t remember how it feels but I swear that I remember the smell
looked me right into my eyes and told me Everything I wanted could be mine if I gave up and decided to sell but I said I’d rather die then get mine now I’m here no fear one man with a story to tell

Dear god where were you when I needed it?
When I fucked up and repeated it?
When they set the bar and I exceeded it? My life is like a book that they’ve judging by a cover but have took the time to fucking read the shit,
I remember telling you my goals and my dreams but you didn’t even answer so I guess you didn’t believe it,
I remember sitting with a gun to my head trying to ask you for some help but I guess you didn’t believe in it!

I don’t want religion I need that spirituality I don’t want a church I need people to call a family,
I don’t want tell my sins to another sinner just because he’s got a robe and he went to some academy
I dont wanna read it in book I wanna hear it from you
don’t want learn it in a school because they’re hiding the truth
don’t want to talk about it with another fucking human and that only reason that I even stepped in the booth

Dear god,
How do I take this darkness and turn it into light?
How do believe in concept where I speak to A man I’ve never seen with my own two eyes?
How do I know that religion wasn’t made just the separate the world and create a whole disguise just to keep us in these chains while the rich get richer and poor pray to you and perpetuate a lie?
How do I know this Eint some big joke?
How can have Faith when there is no Hope?
How the hell does one man have 100 billion dollars and we still have people on the street dat are broke?
Theres a lot of things I wanna talk about and get off my chest
I can’t sleep cause the devil won’t let me rest
I used to know a fucking pastor in a church and I can still hear the screams of the kids he would fucking molest

Dear god
Do you hear me?
I’m supposed to fear you but you ain’t said shit so maybe you who actually fears me ?
I don’t know the answer I just want to see it clearly so many lies there’s a 1000 different theories
All I want to know is who really made religion because I know it wasn’t you but don’t nobody believes me

No more lies
no more death
bring back King
bring back X please dear God let their souls rest protect who’s left and watch their steps
Dear God
I don’t want to have to ask you again all I hope is that you know that I’m still a believer so I’ll end this all by saying AMEN.

This amazing performance of “17 Days” was captured on April 28, 2011 at The Forum in Inglewood, CA. The fan favorite was originally released as the B-side to “When Doves Cry” and Prince performs it here with his 2011-era lineup of the New Power Generation, including Shelby J., Liv Warfield, Elisa Fiorillo, and Morris Hayes, additional keyboardists Renato Neto and Cassandra O’Neal, bassist Ida Nielsen, drummer John Blackwell, and dancers Maya and Nandy McClean (The Twinz). The song includes a fun segue into the band covering Teena Marie’s “Lovergirl” from her 1984 album Starchild. The complete performance of this live concert is included in the Deluxe Edition of Welcome 2 America, the highly anticipated first full complete album released from Prince’s legendary Paisley Park vault. Recorded in the spring of 2010 and then mysteriously archived by Prince, the statement album documents Prince’s concerns, hopes, and visions for a shifting society, presciently foreshadowing an era of political division, disinformation, and a renewed fight for racial justice.

The Deluxe Edition includes the complete studio vault album on both CD and black vinyl (accompanied with a hi-res digital download). The black vinyl edition will have music on three sides and a collectible etching on the fourth side. The live concert video, presented in 1080p HD with stereo, 5.1 surround and Dolby Atmos audio, was captured midway through his legendary marathon “21 Nite Stand” at The Forum and this performance documents the spontaneity and incendiary energy of that historic portion of the Welcome 2 America Tour – an audiovisual testament to the proclamation he made at the launch of the tour in October, 2010, stating “Bring friends, bring Ur children, and bring foot spray, because… it’s gonna B funky.”

Besides “17 Days,” the performance features covers of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love,” Janet Jackson’s “What Have You Done For Me Lately” and Roxy Music’s “More Than This” alongside Prince favorites including “Controversy,” “1999,” “Purple Rain” and many more. The Deluxe Edition of Welcome 2 America will be presented as a luxe gold-foil package designed by GRAMMY-nominated artist Mathieu Bitton and GRAMMY-nominated creative director and Prince associate Trevor Guy, complete with a 12”x12” 32-page companion book and embossed vellum envelope containing exclusive Welcome 2 America era ephemera (photographic art print, 23”x36” poster, replica setlist, ticket, VIP invitation and backstage passes). Experienced as a complete package, the Deluxe Edition provides a multidimensional and immersive view of Prince’s creative genius during his spontaneous, energetic, and thought-provoking Welcome 2 America era.
