Tonio Armani Performs "Money (That's What I Want)" Live | Still Lounge Hotney 6 Streams • 5 months ago

Ernie Barnes’ Sugar Shack, one of the most iconic paintings in pop culture, has lived many lives. From the end credits of ‘Good Times’, and Marvin Gaye’s “I Want You” cover art, to inspiring the poster for the 2025 Academy Award–nominated film ‘Sinners.’

Rooted in the cultural legacy of this 1976 masterpiece and the renewed love for 1960s in-house band studio sessions, we introduce the Still Lounge: an intimate space where artists deliver soulful performances under the musical direction of Anderson .Paak and the direction of Fatima Robinson, recorded live at the historic Henson Studios in Los Angeles.

We bring you Columbus, Georgia’s own Tonio Armani, with a voice that’s lived-in, not manufactured. He steps into the Still Lounge to deliver his rendition of Barrett Strong’s “Money (That’s What I Want).”

LETRA:

Unas de milky way pa amenizar
Nomas para empezar

Arriba de la cheyene
Cuadros van y cuadros vienen
Prendido desde los seven
De los que casi no se ven
Soy bandido y aferrado

Pues me andan cuidando varios

Si me piden copia solo digo afirmativo

Unas de milky way pa amenizar

Tú no me das nada

Aunque sea mentira me haces sentir vivo

Mientes tan bien
Que me sabe a verdad
Todo lo que me das
Ya te estoy amando

Mientes tan bien
Que he llegado a imaginar
Que mi amor, llenas tu piel
Y aunque todo es de papel
Mientes tan bien

Aunque sea mentira me haces sentir vivo

Mientes tan bien
Que me sabe a verdad
Todo lo que me das
Y ya te estoy amando

Mientes tan bien
Que he llegado a imaginar
Que mi amor, llenas tu piel
Y aunque todo es de papel
Mientes tan bien

Y aunque todo es de papel
Mientes tan bien
Aunque todo es de papel
Mientes lo sé
(Eeeeh)

Lyrics:
Girl, let's go put some miles on it
Back of the Chevy with the engine running
Just you and me in a truck bed wide like a California King
We could break it in
If you know what I mean

New truck, big lift, old roads
We've been tearing up since way back when
But these wheels are innocent
New hitch, new seats, no history
And you just can't fake that

So, let's change that, girl, let's go put some miles on it
Back of the Chevy with the engine running
Just you and me in a truck bed wide like a California King
We could break it in
If you know what I mean

Put some miles on it
Back of the Chevy with the engine running
Just you and me in a truck bed wide like a California King
We could break it in
If you know what I mean
Put some miles on it
We could break it in
If you know what I mean

All night, no brakes, all tail, no gate
Ain't gotta try too hard
My baby's push to start
All torque, full speed, off road
On me zero to a hundred fast

My foot ain't touch the gas
I said, hey baby, slow it down
Let's make it last
You said, where's the fun in that
Yeah, let's go

Put some miles on it
Back of the Chevy with the engine running
Just you and me in a truck bed wide like a California King
We could break it in
If you know what I mean

Put some miles on it
We could break it in
If you know what I mean

Put some miles on it
We could break it in
If you know what I mean

Mile after mile after mile after mile
Turn up the night like that radio dial
Shoulder to shoulder where nobody knows
Know where we're going, we ain't going home

We're putting miles on it
Back of the Chevy with the engine running
Just you and me in a truck bed wide like a California king
We could break it in
If you know what I mean

Put some miles on it
Back of the Chevy with the engine running
Just you and me in a truck bed wide like a California King
We could break it in
If you know what I mean
Put some miles on it

We could break it in
If you know what I mean
Put some miles on it

We could break it in
If you know what I mean
Put some miles on it
