LYRICS
Just like the air before the storm
The pressure shifts to make way for the rain
And how it falls – a cleanse so vital
But still waiting for a sign that everything will change
(Everything will change)

If I could make some sense of this, the push and pull
Defences at their strongest even when my heart is full
Let this chapter come to a close
Before the clouds return and I’m too comfortable to ever come back home

So naive
Time sinks its teeth into my bones
Abandon all composure
As I’m slipping further away from home
“Impossible,” they tell me
“Can’t lose yourself when it’s all you’ve known”
Forget the need for closure
I’m nothing without all I can’t control

Closer
Closer now, I’m exposed
All the warning signs, yet I still set fire
Now I’ve swallowed too much smoke
Too caught up chasing ghosts to love the light

Rage, rage, rage against the way that I hate myself
But placing energy somewhere else, I lose myself on the way

God, I can be so naive
Time sinks its teeth into my bones
Abandon all composure
As I’m slipping further away from home
“Impossible,” they tell me
“Can’t lose yourself when it’s all you’ve known”
Forget the need for closure
I’m nothing without all I can’t control

Rage, rage, rage against the way that I hate myself for what I created

So naive
Time sinks its teeth into my bones
Abandon all composure
As I’m slipping further away from home
“Impossible,” they tell me
“Can’t lose yourself when it’s all you’ve known”
Forget the need for closure
I’m nothing without all I can’t control

Order/listen: https://lnk.to/BrianSetzer

Tickets & Info: briansetzer.com/tour-dates

Creative sparks and killer riffs are flying everywhere on Brian Setzer’s new album 'The Devil Always Collects' out now via Surfdog Records. The 3-time Grammy award-winner’s guitar work is virtuosic and blazing on these 11 tracks, and his vocals deliver the clever storylines of catchy songs like “The Devil Always Collects,” “Girl On The Billboard,” “Black Leather Jacket” and “Rock Boys Rock.” Add in non-stop breakneck rhythms, and you have an album—produced by Brian Setzer and Julian Raymond and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge—that stands with Setzer's best. It’s always been Brian’s special talent to inject the roots of rock with a contemporary freshness that unites fans of Rock, Americana, Rockabilly, and Punk.

Look for Brian to hit the road in the U.S. starting September 27 on his “ROCKABILLY RIOT” tour, marking his first live shows in over four years.

LYRICS:
Doo-da-doo-doo-doo
Ah-doo-doo-doo-doo

Who is the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard in the field near the big ol' highway?
Rolling down the highway in my jimmy hauling freight
From Chicago to St. Louis, lord, I see her everyday
Oh, a double-clutchin' weasel like me can hardly ever get a girl to look at him that way
Like the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard in the field near the big ol' highway

Ah-doo-doo-doo-doo
Ah-doo-doo-doo-doo

Well, what a girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard in the field near the big ol' highway
I bet it wouldn't take her very long to be gone
If someone would pull a dirty trick and take her towel away
I slow my jimmy down to twenty, that's how many wrecks I see there every day
Caused by the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard in the field near the big ol' highway

Ah-doo-doo-doo-doo
Ah-doo-doo-doo-doo

Oh, I love the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard in the field near the big ol' highway
I guess I'm getting bolder 'cause I'd rather kiss and hold her
Than just keep looking at her every day
At 4:45, coffee drinking, eating time, jimmy shimmies
While I woke up the artist that painted the display
Of the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard in the field near the big ol' highway

Doggone that girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard in the field near the big ol' highway
Sleepy-headed painter said the girl wasn't real and I'd better get the woo on my way
On route 66 from the billboard to Chicago
You'll find tiny pieces of my heart scattered every which way
Shattered by the girl wearing nothing but a smile
And a towel in the picture on the billboard in the field near the big ol' highway

Ah-doo-doo-doo-doo
Ah-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-da-doo-doo-doo
Ah-doo-doo-doo-doo
