I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.
Formed in the early 90s, Coal Chamber was a band that played urgent and aggressive music draped in heavy stage makeup, piercings, and black fetish clothing. As an up-and-coming nu-metal act, the band showed that simplicity and heaviness went hand in hand, and dominated the scene with a darker, more evil approach compared to what other bands were doing. Releasing 4 albums in total (one being gold and the others damn well close), they proved to not be a one hit wonder. When asked what their band name represents in an interview with Lollipop Magazine, guitarist Miguel Rascon stated, “It’s a cold, dark place. It fits the imagery of our music. Potential energy. Heavy. Under great pressure…”
Judging by their appearance, you’d expect a pretty dark, brooding band, but Coal Chamber’s music actually emitted nuances of hope and optimism while also promoting individuality. By the time their third album was released, there was speculation that they’d never perform together again, although they’d reunite for their fourth and final album in 2015. Today, let’s explore whatever happened to the band Coal Chamber.
Coal Chamber frontman Dez Fafara was born in Santa Barbara, California and raised in Los Angeles. He grew up as an outcast telling the LA Times “I was that kid that gets thrown in the trash can at lunch,”. “But I came out on top.” He would draw inspiration from a range of artists including The Cure and Motley Crue. Fafara recalled to the LA Times, “I had Nikki [Sixx] all over my walls! I remember my mom tweaking out and taking the posters down. I just liked the whole look of that band and the heaviness of it”.
In 1992, ahead of Coal Chamber’s inception, Fafara and guitarist Miguel Rascón, better known as Meegs, formed the band She’s In Pain, who was influenced by gothic rock, and would help shape part of the band’s sound early on. Within the next several years, the roots of Coal Chamber would be solidified once the members found each other through the newspaper The Recycler. Meegs would recall to scheter guitars (Sheckter), "I think we all hated each other from the start when we found each other in Recycler." "But it was the music that kept us together."
When we hear about the evolution of popular music, there appears to be this period in the 80s and early 90s when heavy metal music was popular and then alternative rock took over for several years, but against the backdrop of this transition was a burgeoning scene in Los Angeles where the two genres cross pollinated with hip hop, which initiated the birth of nu-metal.
Dez Fafara would tell Metal Hammer about coming up amidst this transition, saying, “The scene was relatively dead,” “We were coming out after the hair metal thing was done and killed off. But there was a sense that something new was forming among the bands at that time.”
"Up in LA there were the Deftones, Coal Chamber and later on, System of a Down. I’m the one who found Static-X when they were playing in front of fifteen people. We would all go to shows every single night and play with each other and create this new scene together.”
Dez would go on to say,
“Clubs started to pack out again. One by one, we all got signed. We were there the night Deftones got signed — a limo rolled up and Madonna rolled through! We were like ‘Holy shit, this thing’s on fire!’ The next one to get signed might have been Korn, then us and then System.”
While emerging bands from the area would soon be slapped with the nu-metal tag, they each had their own set of influences. But like the scenes before it, nu-metal suffered the same fate – a few bands in the scene got huge, record labels went on a signing frenzy, and the public’s taste moved with the times. Eventually, even the term nu-metal became resented by the bands it was meant to describe. Dez would tell Loudersound, “The same thing kind of happened with nu-metal. My guitar player (Meegs Rascón) said it best: ‘nu metal’ was a great term until the second wave of bands came in and we all got put into that ‘nu-metal thing’. At that point, even among us, it became a dirty word. Right now, t

Lyrics:
Well the street lights shine
Down on Blessing Avenue
Lovers they walk by
Holdin' hands two by two
A breeze crosses the porch
Bicycle spokes spin 'round
Jacket's on, I'm out the door
Tonight I'm gonna burn this town down
And the girls in their summer clothes
In the cool of the evening light
The girls in their summer clothes

#whitezombie #robzombie #seanyseult
I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.
Formed in 1985, White Zombie’s sound would undergo a metamorphosis during their career from Noise Rock to more heavy metal sound achieving a lot of success during the early to mid 90’s. But by the end of the decade the band called it quits. Today, let’s talk about why the band broke up.
Rob Zombie spent his formative years in Hav (hay)erhill, Mass., a depressed industrial outpost where zombie spent most of his time hanging out at cemetirers;
Zombie would be pretty anti-social as a kid having different interests from his peers telling the LA Times “I grew up with really normal, straight parents, but they let me and my brother do anything we wanted to do. They took us to see ‘A Clockwork Orange’ and ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre.’ I remember seeing, like, ‘Phantom of the Opera’ when I was 5 years old.” He would spend eight hours a day watching TV and it soon became an obsession for the future musician with him literally watching anything that was broadcast on TV and he would memorize the tv schedule for the week. This eventually led him down the road of making his own super 8 films.
Apart from television, Zombie would develop a taste for larger than life musical acts including Kiss, Blue Oyster Cult and Alice Cooper. Couple this with his love of the DIY ethos of punk rock and Rob Zombie had the basic blueprint for White Zombie.
The band would form when bassist Sean Yseult and frontman Rob Zombie both met while attending the Parsons school of design. The band’s first drummer was also a student at the same school. Yseult would reveal in the book Louder THan Hell “Rob & I were both oddballs. I think we were drawn to each other. We started the band within a month of meeting and basically lived together for seven years. We both had dyed black hair, he had a stenciled misfits leather jacket and i had a bunch of animal bones tied onto a necklace” They would date but break up during the early 90’s with Yseult telling the chicago tribune "The whole band and the business just got so much bigger than any relationship," The band would have a variety of drummers during this time and found a guitarist named J (Jay Yuenger) who went by the name J.
White Zombie would be the amalgamation of two scenes the noise rock scene of new york which included bands like Sonic Youth and the hardcore scene in DC including minor threat, bad brains and dave grohl’s pre-nirvana band scream. To Rob he had the goal of not only giving fans a spectacular music video for there songs, but also be able to give fans an equally as impressive live show rigging their own pyro.
The band would sign to label Caroline records who put out their first two album 1987’s soul crusher and 1989’s make them die slowly.
But the road to gain recognition was a long one. The band’s first release 1987’s soul crusher seemed to go unnoticed or was misunderstood with Yseult revealing in louder than hell People didn’t really get it. We would play a lot of those things together. We would play this really heavy music in clubs in the east village and all these hipsters just stared at us and scratched their heads. ” The reviews echoed a similar sentiment, but it was the band’s detractors that drove Rob Zombie to push forward. And while the sales didn’t reflect what was to happen soon the group’s first album found an audience with some accomplished musicians at the time including Kurt Cobain, Iggy Pop, and Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth.
The band soon built up a crowd of followers at venues including CBGB’s and started playing metal clubs widening their audience. .
By the early 90’s they would soon nab a recording contract with major label Geffen Records and the band would move out west to Los Angeles.
The group’s first record for Geffen La Sexercisto Devil Music Volume 1 which came out in march of 1992 would be a slow burn. Entertainment Weekly would publish an article in October of 1993 that highlighted that the album had moved only about 75,000 copies before one of singles welcome to planet motherfers was featured on the mtv hit show beavis and butthead.
Rob would tell entertainment weekly ”The record immediately started picking up in markets where we never played, like Wyoming and Missouri-places where Bea

Lyrics:
A war below that can’t be seen
fathoms deep, the mortal shell grows tired
Irrational or pre-determined destiny
Serenity, compulsion crossing wires
I hate the silent reminders of nothing but heartache
Who’s to decide what is right when your choice was cathartic
I can’t forget
What I regret
But I accept my punishment
I can’t forget
Our disconnect
The things that we love just hurt us in the end
These memories are transient
Could anything have really made a difference?
Could open arms change fractured minds?
Shatter forced perspectives?
Do you still slip through my fingers?
I hate the silent reminders of nothing but heartache
Who’s to decide what is right when your choice was cathartic
I can’t forget
What I regret
But I accept my punishment
I can’t forget
Our disconnect
The things that we love just hurt us in the end
I hate the silent reminders of heartache
I hate the silent reminders of heartache
I hate the silent reminders of nothing but heartache
Who’s to decide what is right when your choice was cathartic
I can’t forget
What I regret
But I accept my punishment
I can’t forget
Our disconnect
The things that we love just hurt us in the end
I hate the silent reminders of heartache
I hate the silence

Just A Game feat. Benny Sings
Words : Jeremy Quartus, Benny Sings Music : Jeremy Quartus, Benny Sings
It's a big world outside
Are you ready to take it in
There might be some hurdles to take
Just let the sun shine
Breath in and circulate
The nice breeze is calling you
No one can stop you
I know you’re gonna make it
*
So baby stop crying in the rain
Maybe it’s just a game
Maybe it’s just a game
So baby stop crying in the rain
Maybe it’s all a test now
Maybe it’s just a game
Maybe it’s just a game
Maybe it’s just a game
I know you’re overwhelmed
Bit this right here is an exercise
And when you’re done you’ll get an extra slice you know it
I’ve been there so many times
But every time I opened my eyes
The problem seemed to vanish just like magic
Don't let them stop you
I know you’re gonna make it
*
So baby stop crying in the rain
Maybe it’s just a game
Maybe it’s just a game
So baby stop crying in the rain
Maybe it’s all a test now
Maybe it’s just a game
*
The sun is breaking through the rain clouds
Maybe it’s all a test now
Maybe it’s just a game
Maybe it’s just a game

Lyrics
London calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared, and battle come down
London calling to the underworld
Come out of the cupboard, you boys and girls
London calling, now don't look to us
Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust
London calling, see we ain't got no swing
Except for the ring of that truncheon thing
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Meltdown expected, the wheat is growing thin
Engines stop running, but I have no fear
'Cause London is drowning, and I live by the river
London calling to the imitation zone
Forget it brother, you can go it alone
London calling to the zombies of death
Quit holding out, and draw another breath
London calling, and I don't wanna shout
But while we were talking, I saw you nodding out
London calling, see we ain't got no high
Except for that one with the yellowy eyes
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
'Cause London is drowning, and I live by the river
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
'Cause London is drowning, and I live by the river
Now get this...
London calling, yes, I was there too
And you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!
London calling at the top of the dial
And after all this, won't you give me a smile?
London calling...
I never felt so much alike alike alike alike...

Lyrics:
[Intro]
Oh! Hola!
[Verse 1]
Darling, you got to let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
If you say that you are mine
I'll be here 'till the end of time
So you got to let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
[Verse 2]
It's always tease, tease, tease
You're happy when I'm on my knees
One day it's fine and next it's black
So if you want me off your back
Well, come on and let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
[Chorus]
Should I stay or should I go now?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go, there will be trouble
And if I stay it will be double
So come on and let me know
[Verse 3]
This indecision's bugging me (Esta indecisión me molesta)
If you don't want me, set me free (Si no me quieres, librarme)
Exactly whom I'm supposed to be (Dígame que tengo ser)
Don't you know which clothes even fit me? (Sabes que ropa me "quedrá"?)
Come on and let me know (Me tienes que decir)
Should I cool it or should I blow? (Me debo ir o quedarme?)
Split
[Chorus]
Should I stay or should I go now? (Yo me enfrío o lo soplo)
Should I stay or should I go now? (Yo me enfrío o lo soplo)
If I go there will be trouble (Si me voy va a haber peligro)
And if I stay it will be double (Si me quedo sera el doble)
So ya gotta let me know (Me tienes que decir)
Should I cool it or should I blow? (Tengo frío por los ojos)
Should I stay or should I go now? (Tengo frío por los ojos)
If I go there will be trouble (Si me voy va haber peligro)
And if I stay it will be double (Si me quedo será el doble)
So ya gotta let me know (Me tienes que decir)
Should I stay or should I go?

I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.
The 90’s saw several popular periods of rock music, hair metal was on it’s last feet at the beginning of the decade, with grunge taking over in the early to mid 90’s. That transitioned into post-grunge and pop rock and then nu-metal. Against the backdrop of rock music during the decade was hip hop and straight pop music. IT was rare that an artist who was dominant in one genre would try to reinvent themselves in another genre, but that’s what rapper Vanilla Ice tried to do.
Music wasn’t always on the first choice of a career for rapper Vanilla Ice who was born Robert Matthew Van Winkle in Dallas, Texas in 1967. In his teenage years he was a successful motocross racer winning several championships, but a broken ankle at age 17 prematurely ended his career. He soon turned his attention to music - a fan of hip hop and dancing. Ice would tell the LA Times he danced to James Brown records and lip-synced to Elvis Presley as a youngster. But he soon found his calling in hip hop and started dancing with friends at local malls, He would tell the LA Times
“I remember being alone a lot as a kid because I went to so many different schools,” “I would always be the new jack and everybody’s eyes would be on me, so I eventually decided to give them something to look at. I’d fix my hair and wear things that made me stand out. And I got into the rapping and the break-dancing and beat-boxing.”
He would soon adopt the stage name Vanilla MC. it would be an appearance at Dallas disco called City Lights that changed rappers life. owned by Tommy Quon who was managing a few acts.
Quon would witness Vanilla MC at his club taking part in a talent contest and was so blown away he signed the rapper to a contract the following day. Quon suggested he change his name to Vanilla Ice and started to lineup concerts that would see him open for various rap acts including Public Enemy. But much to Quon’s chagrin he was unsuccessful in getting record labels to pay attention. A white rapper wasn’t exactly on their list of sought after acts. Still believing in his talent Quon forked the money to release Vanilla Ice’s debut album Hooked on his own independent label and got a distribution deal through Ichiban records. They would release a single a cover Wild Cherry’s play that funky music with ice ice baby as the b-side. The song eventually started getting airplay thanks to a DJ in Georgia to played ice ice baby instead of the cover and it spread like wildfire from there. Quon soon spent $8,000 to record a video for the track Ice Ice Baby only increasing the rapper’s popularity..
SBK records took notice and signed the rapper. They re-released Hooked with a new name “To The Extreme” and he soon started opening for MC Hammer. It was a tour that saw tension between the rappers with Vanilla Ice knocking MC Hammer from the number 1 spot on the billboard charts
Quon would tell the LA Times about the feud with MC Hammer. “By the end, we were selling as many T-shirts as Hammer at the shows and I think that bothered them. They didn’t want to acknowledge what was happening.”
Ice Ice Baby would go on to become the first number one hip hop single in history to top the billboard hot 100 charts and To The Extreme became a global phenomenon selling over 15,000,000 worldwide and spending four months at the number 1 spot on the billboard album charts. He soon got his own movie Cool As Ice, and provided the lead single for the Teenage mutant Ninja turtles 2 movie and even dated Madonna. Add to that endorsement deals for nike and pepsi. But despite his newfound success there was a growing backlash against him. A lot of critics and rappe

“Everything that’s happened to us has been like something out of a fairy tale.” Those were the words of Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby who was talking about the success of the band’s first album, 1984’s Out of the Cellar. Ratt would go on to dominate the rock scene in the 80’s with hit album after hit album. But soon enough Crosby’s fairy tale would turn into a nightmare. Stay tuned for the full story.
Becoming a rockstar was the dream of guitarist Robbin Crosby who grew up in San Diego. In the 1970s he played in a local band named Mac Media where he came up with early versions of the songs "Scene of the Crime" and "I'm Insane" both of which would show up on Ratt’s debut album. Eventually Crosby left the group and joined a different San Diego outfit named Phenomenon. It was around this time Crosby would meet a Singer named Stephen Pearcy who was fronting a group named Mickey Ratt. By 1981 both musicians hadn’t yet played in the same band, but they moved to LA with their respective groups hoping to land a major record deal. Also joining Crosby on his journey from San Diego to LA would be his girlfriend andfuture model and actress Tawny Kitaene We’ll talk more about her in a bit.
Pearcy would recall to the San Diego Tribune during a 1984 interview why he moved to LA saying
“The only bands that were getting signed (to record contracts) in San Diego at that time were new wave-type bands, so I decided to take my band, Mickey Ratt, to Los Angeles,”
Los Angeles proved to be a much more fertile ground for the type of rock n’ roll that the two musicians were playing given the success of LA based bands like Van Halen and Quiet Riot.
And it wasn’t too long after the pair moved out to LA that their own bands fell apart and Pearcy and Crosby soon started playing together under the moniker Ratt.
Pearcy would discuss the important of Crosby joining the band and how he was instrumental to the band’s sound during a 2011 interview with Noisecreep saying
I brought Robbin into the lineup. Together we laid down the foundation for what everyone knows as the Ratt sound. In those early years, Robbin was pretty much the main guy.
And the band would undergo several lineup changes before finally settling on the musicians that got them a record deal with lead guitarist Warren DeMartini drummer Bobby Blotzer and bassist Juan Croucier . Percy would recall the twin guitar attack of De Martini and Crosby telling Noisecreep “Robbin had his own style, but he was definitely influenced by Billy Gibbons and Jimi Hendrix. He played with great feel. Warren was more of a noodler, a guitar hero type of player. They complimented each other so well,” Warren was progressing so phenomenally that it was hard to ignore he'd say.
Shortly after their formation, Ratt would play at the Whisky A Go Go and soon earned the status of house band. It was during this time that they caught the attention of Marshall Berle, who was the nephew of comedian and actor Milton Berle who would appear in the band’s future music videos. Berle would sign the band to his time communications record label releasing a self titled EP that sold so incredibly well that it caught the attention of several labels. They band would eventually sign a major recording contract with Atlantic Records and release their major label debut Out of the Cellar. Appearing on the front cover of the band’s first EP and LP would be Crosby’s girlfriend Tawny Kitaen. Out of the Cellar would be the biggest album of their career going triple platinum and the album was spurred by the single Round and Round, which got heavy airplay on MTV and was a top 10 hit on the music charts in America.
Guitarist Robbin Crosby would tell the San Diego Tribune in 1984 how Ratt separated themselves from other rock bands at the time saying “We definitely try to be melodic so that we don’t get caught up in the heavy metal shuffle, but I think our music is aimed more at a female audience than a lot

Why Pearl Jam Fired Dave Abruzzesse
Pearl Jam was a band who seemed to have trouble holding onto a drummer during the 90’s. During the decade the band had 5 different drummers including Dave kruzzen, Matt Chamberlin Dave Abruzzesse,,Jack Irons and their current drummer Matt Cameron. Today we’re going to talk about fan favourite Dave Abruzzese (AhBrewZeeSee).
In 1991 Pearl Jam would release their monumental debut record Ten that saw drummer Dave Krusen behind the kit. Krusen left Pearl Jam in May 1991 just as the band was going to england to mix Ten and he checked himself into rehab.. According to Krusen, he was suffering from personal problems at the time including alcohol addiction and dealing with his first child on the way. It would take two more tries, but by 1994 he was sober.
Matt Chamberlin was brought in to play a string of dates for the band who were out on the road promoting ten and was offered the drumming spot but declined since he wanted to slow down his life a bit and he would tell author Mark Yarm in the book Everybody loves our town that he felt no emotional connection to the band since he was a replacement player. Chamberlain also had his eyes set on joining GE Smith’s house band on the show saturday night live,. Chamberlain was friends with a drummer named Dave Abruzzesse who he knew back in Texas. He would recommend the drummer to Pearl Jam During this time Abbruzzese was working in a plant shop and he would tell author mark yarm: “I was working at a head shop. My expertise was in the grow dept. So if people would come in saying they wanted to grow lettuce hydroponically in their closet wink wink i would help them get setup.’ The drummer was also playing in a funk band at the time in Dallas called Dr. Tongue, while also hosting his own radio show on community radio called Music We Like Show. It was that show where he first heard of an up and coming band named Pearl Jam, but his initial reaction to the band may surprise you..
Abruzzese initially had a negative response to Pearl Jam’s sampler CD he played on the show and claimed he only made it through 25 seconds of the first couple songs.
Krisha Aurgerot who was Pearl Jam’s manager Kelly Kurtis assistant would tell Mark Yarm: I was shocked to see Dave Abbruzzese in the lobby of Curtis management when they were trying out drummers. Because he was such a rocker. Super long hair wearing a track suit. He’s from texas so it’s a totally different vibe. I could see him in alice in chains, not in pearl jam.
Abruzzesse would end up arriving in seattle just as the band was filming the video for their single Alive. Abruzzesse wouldn’t perform in the video as Matt Chamberlain was still in the band.
But Soon enough Abruzzese would start performing with the band just before the release of Ten and following his second show with the band as act of solidarity he would get a tattoo of the Pearl Jam stick figure logo tattooed on his left shoulder. Abruzzese would tour extensively with the band over the next 3 years performing on their MTV unplugged set, Saturday Night Live, the band’s follow up record Versus, and on their 1994 follow up Vitalogy. It was during the making of vitalogy where tensions seem to flare up in the band leading to his dismissal
According to guitarist Stone Gossard Vitalogy was the first pearl jam record where Eddie Vedder was the one making all the final decisions on the album and according to producer/engineer adam kasper he claimed Vedder wasn’t happy musically with Abbruzese with Kasper claiming “Dave was an extremely busy player and eddie like a more raw sound We even started out with drum machines and that’s sort of a slap in the face to the drummer. “
It’s also been claimed that there were personality conflicts between the members and abruzzese more specifically frontman eddie vedder and bassist Jeff Ament, There was one story in particular which apparently rubbed Eddie Vedder the wrong waye. It was claimed by producer Brendan O Brien at one of the recording sessions abbruzzese accidentally knocked over Vedder’s guitar that was a gift from The Who’s Pete Townsend, The guitar broke and Abruzzese apparently left a little note for Eddie and left the studio to go do a drum clinic or some sort of self promotional gig.

The excellent Black September, a 500-only limited edition, is a continuous, five-part, 68 minute epic is as formidably competent as ever, although more for the brooding, surreal nature of its sound-world than for its grooves, which here sound almost subsidiary. The soul samples and restlessly evolving minor-chord kaleidoscopes that unfold throughout the work is prima facia evidence of a musician on a roll.

From 1988 Album: "The Worlds Greatest Entertainer"...(Click "show more" for artist info)...
Douglas E. Davis (born September 17, 1966), better known by the stage name Doug E. Fresh, is a Barbadian born American rapper, record producer, and beatboxer, also known as the Human Beat Box. The pioneer of 20th-century American beatboxing, Fresh is able to accurately imitate drum machines and various special effects using only his mouth, lips, gums, throat, tongue and a microphone.
Although he began his recording career as a solo artist as one of the last artists on Enjoy Records and one of the first on Vintertainment Records (the same New York-based label owned by Vincent Davis that would later make a name of Hip-Hop artist Joeski Love and bring R&B "icon" Keith Sweat to ultimate fame), it was when he and a new team of DJs known as the Get Fresh Crew (Barry Bee and Chill Will) along with a newcomer named MC Ricky D (who would later achieve fame as Slick Rick) came to fledgling New Jersey-based Hip-Hop label Danya/Reality Records the following year and recorded "The Show" (which borrowed the melody of the Inspector Gadget theme by Shuki Levy), and "La Di Da Di", a tune that was completely voiced by MC Ricky D and backed by Doug E's beat boxing for the entire duration of the song. It was when both of these songs were released on a single (particularly 12" single) that broke him (and Slick Rick) into stardom. Both "The Show" and "La-Di-Da-Di" are considered two of the all-time greatest early hip hop classics and, as such, make up one of the first and only Hip-Hop singles to have two hit songs on the same record.
"The Show" peaked at #7 in the UK Singles Chart in December 1985.
Doug E. Fresh was also interviewed in the 1986 cult documentary Big Fun In The Big Town. Unfortunately, Slick Rick would leave the group almost a year after the single was released leaving many wondering what happened to him until 1988 when he became a Def Jam artist and released his debut album, The Great Adventures of Slick Rick. Doug E. Fresh and the Get Fresh Crew soldiered on, now officially signed to Danya/Reality/Fantasy and releasing two albums from that period—Oh, My God! from 1986 (which includes the hit song "All The Way To Heaven") and The World's Greatest Entertainer from 1988—both of which are now long out of print and extremely rare. The main single from the album The World's Greatest Entertainer was "Keep Risin' To The Top" which was named after Keni Burke's then-obscure 1981 hit "Rising To The Top", which, thanks to being sampled in Doug E. Fresh's song, has become Keni's signature tune. Doug E.'s "Keep Risin' To The Top" also samples the main chorus phrase of Heatwave's 1976 classic "Ain't No Half Steppin'," which Big Daddy Kane also sampled that same year for his song of the same name.
In 1992, after a four-year hiatus, Doug E. Fresh joined with MC Hammer's label, Bust It Records and issued one album, Doin' What I Gotta Do, which (despite some minor acclaim for his single "Bustin' Out (On Funk)" which sampled the Rick James 1979 single "Bustin' Out") was a commercial failure.
In 1993, Doug E. Fresh found a new home at Island Records-affiliated label Gee Street. At the time, he managed only to release one single that contained three songs—"I-ight (Alright)," which was the main song; "Bounce"; and "Freaks". Although "I-ight" (which originated the now-famous club chant "Heyyyyyy, YO!... I-iiiiight?") was slated to become the first major hit for Doug in 5 years, it was almost immediately overshadowed by "Freaks", a Dancehall tune beat-boxed entirely by Doug E. and vocalized mainly by his protégé, a Brooklyn-born Jamaican teenage newcomer named Vicious. The song received major radio and club play, followed by video play when the video was finally produced a few months into 1994. The latter would soon ink a deal with Sony Music's Epic Records for three years, although he would only release one album, Destination Brooklyn.
In 1995, Slick Rick and Fresh reunited for a track on an album titled Play, which found Fresh back on his feet. The album received positive reviews; Bret Love wrote, "A welcome flashback to the days when guns, drugs, sex, and violence were not the genre's primary lyrical focus." Off the Play album also was a track title "Freak It Out" which featured Uncle Luke produced by platinum producer Frankie Cutlass and was also on the Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood soundtrack, and was certified a Gold Album by RIAA.
On May 23, 2007, Fresh performed variations upon "The Show" with finalist Blake Lewis on the season-six finale of American Idol, the first ever hip-hop performance on the show.
Four people were k*lled and 14 were w*unded in a mass drive-by sh*oting late Wednesday night outside a Chicago nightclub, according to police.

Hanoi Rocks frontman Mike Monroe was born as Matti Antero Kristian Fagerholm in 1962 in Finland. His father was a famous radio and TV personality. Monroe would reveal in his autobiography thatsHis real first exposure to rock n’ roll was seeing Black Sabbath perform a show in paris on TV and that memory would stay with him for the rest of his life. Also influencing monroe at a young age was the first wo concerts he ever went to as a kid which was the band slade and sweet. And in 1976 Monroe would play in a band called Madness and he just happened to share the same rehearsal space and drummer with guitarist Andy Mccoy Who played in a punk rock band named Briard. It was there that the two met and started talking and started hit it off and Monroe at one point almost joined Mccoy’s band, but was told he had to cut his hair. While Monroe was against cutting his hair, the seeds of Hanoi Rocks were being carefully planted as he would tell Louder Sound “the punk thing was great, but you can join our punk band if you cut your hair. What? To be in punk fashion. Im not going to be a slave to fashion he’d remember so i said no and me and andy talked about putting a real band together the way we thought a cool rock band should be and that’s how Hanoi started. After skipping the army I wasn’t going to cut my hair just to be in a band he’d say
Monroe eventually left home and moved to Stockholm, Sweden and started another punk band called Nymphomaniac. The band would quickly fell apart and Michael moved back to Helsinki. By the summer of 1979 monroe was back again in Sweden and would meet future hanoi rocks rhythm guitarist Nasty Sicide through Andy McCoy. Andy was in a new band at the time named Pelle (pellay) Miljoona but was still interested in forming a band with monroe. Riding the bus one day Andy suggested the band name "Chinese Rocks" named after the Johnny Thunders song and then "Hanoi Rocks" and well the rest was history.
And Hanoi Rocks would be formed in 1979, but funny enough Mccoy wasn’t in the first incarnation of the group because he was still playing in his other band. But Mccoy did have an understanding with Monroe that he would eventually join Hanoi Rocks. The only members of the classic lineup who were in the first incarnation of the band were mike monroe and nasty sicide. The band soon hit the Finnish club circuit playing a mix of Cheap Trick, MC5 and The Police covers along with songs Monroe and Mccoy had written. At one of the band’s early shows a fellow named Seppo who was responsible for bringing iggy pop and the stooges to finland was in attendance and showed an interest in managing the band. We’ll talk a little more about him later.
When Mccoy was ready to join the group they would relocate to Sweden and have drummer gyp casino and bassist Sami Yaffa joining the band. This is where things got difficult for the band. Most of the members were literally living in the street as Monroe would tell loudersound
When we started Hanoi Rocks we were homeless. I had a few hundred Finnish marks, not much, when I left home and ended up in Stockholm. So me, Sami Yaffa and Nasty Suicide were living on the streets for the first six months, begging for change. We’d beg enough to get a hamburger to share, or a bottle of wine to forget about the hunger. We befriended other homeless people. We’d sometimes go to a bar and I’d chat up some girl, and when she’d invite me to her house, I’d say: “Do you mind if my friends come along?” Then when we got to the house we’d head straight for the fridge. He would go on to reveal that
Andy would live with his girlfriend during the time and Gyp had an apartment during their time in Sweden. It was life on the streets that would eventually shape the group’s attitude, image and sound. And According to Monroe, Sweden was merely a stopover for the band whose final destination was London, England because as he saw it that’s where the centre of the music scene seemed to be at the time. He would go on to reveal to Loudersound that the band got no love from their home county saying
Later that same year the band headed into the studio to record their debut record titled Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks. Originally released only in the Scanadanvian countries, the album became a top 5 hit in their Finland

Drake - Laugh Now Cry Later Lyrics:
[Intro: Drake]
Woah, woah
Yeah
[Chorus: Drake]
Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry, but I guess you know now, baby
I took a half and she took the whole thing, slow down, baby
We took a trip, now we on your block and it's like a ghost town, baby
Where do these niggas be at when they say they doin' all this and all that?
[Verse 1: Drake]
Tired of beefin' you bums, you can't even pay me enough to react
Been wakin' up in the crib and sometimes I don't even know where I'm at
Please don't play that nigga songs in this party, I can't even listen to that
Anytime that I ran into somebody, it must be a victory lap, ayy
Shawty come sit on my lap, ayy, they sayin' Drizzy just snapped
Distance between us is not like a store, this isn't a closeable gap, ayy
I seen some niggas attack and don't end up makin' it back
[Pre-Chorus: Drake]
I know that they at the crib goin' crazy, down bad
What they had didn't last, damn, baby
[Chorus: Drake]
Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry, but I guess you know now, baby
I took a half and she took the whole thing, slow down, baby
We took a trip, now we on your block and it's like a ghost town, baby
Where do these niggas be at when they say they doin' all this and all that?
[Verse 2: Lil Durk & Drake]
I'm in the trenches, relax
Can you not play that lil' boy in the club? 'Cause we do not listen to rats
We in Atlanta, I buy her a wig, she tellin' me Tae is the best
Point at the nigga who act like a killer, but you only one for the 'net
I'm like DaBaby, I'm not just a rapper, you play with me, you gon' get stretched
Ooh-oh
Bring Drake to the hood, surround Drake around Dracs
Even though I got a case, I'ma do what it take
And I never been embraced
And the money's hard to make
So I bet they on they face right now
[Pre-Chorus: Drake]
I know that they at the crib goin' crazy, down bad
What they had didn't last, damn, baby
[Chorus: Drake]
Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry, but I guess you know now, baby
I took a half and she took the whole thing, slow down, baby
We took a trip, now we on your block and it's like a ghost town, baby
Where do these niggas be at when they say they doin' all this and all that?
[Verse 3: Drake]
When he tell the story, that's not how it went
Know they be lyin', a hundred percent
Moved out the Ritz and forgot 'bout the Bent'
Valet just called me to tell me come get it
Knocked that boy off and I don't want no credit
If it was me, they wouldn't regret it
Left me for dead and now they wan' dead it, yeah
Heart is still beatin', my niggas still eatin'
Backyard, it look like the Garden of Eden
Pillow talk with 'em, she spillin' the tea
And then shawty came back and said she didn't mean it
It's hard to believe it
[Pre-Chorus: Drake]
I know that they at the crib goin' crazy, down bad
What they had didn't last, damn, baby
[Chorus: Drake]
Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry, but I guess you know now, baby
I took a half and she took the whole thing, slow down, baby
We took a trip, now we on your block and it's like a ghost town, baby
Where do these niggas be at when they say they doin' all this and all that?

Former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum probably put it best when he tweeted out, "I thought Billie Joe Armstrong's rant was the most punk rock thing he's ever done. then he had to go and ruin it by apologizing. corporate rock is alive and well. never really bought that band anyways," he would conclude. It was a funny statement considering it was Green Day who inducted Matt Sorum into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame with Guns and Roses just five months prior in April of 2012. drinking and shenanigans seemed to be part of Green Day's image. from their humble beginnings from California, they appeared to be just three punk rock kids who wanted to make great music with the help of a little lubricants. In fact, even after the band got famous, the band's singer Billie Joe Armstrong admitted to Rolling Stone in 2013 that he had anxiety getting onstage in front of people and would reveal alcohol would help alleviate some of the nerves admitting, "I played on stage loaded a lot. I'd have anywhere from two to six beers and a couple of shots before I went on stage then I'd go out and play the gig and drink for the rest of the evening on the bus, fall asleep, wake up the next day, feel like crap, do soundcheck. it was over and over again. In that way,
I was a functioning alcoholic. Green Day is a very polarizing band on my channel, just like several other bands I've covered in the past including Dave Matthews Band, garbage, Foo Fighters and Linkin Park. I'm not afraid to admit that I like Green Day. granted, I'm a fan of their earlier work prior to them getting signed to a major label and of course, I was a big fan of "Dookie" in 1994 and 2004's "American Idiot", I was also a fan of. I even checked out their musical "American Idiot" a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it but I've always felt like for the last 10 years and for the 10 years prior to that, Green Day was always living in the shadow of "Dookie" and then they were also living in the shadow of "American Idiot". 2009 would see the release of "21st Century Breakdown", which I felt was a mediocre record. I still remember living up north at the time and hearing "know your enemy" and "21 guns'' played over and over again on Sirius XM hits one. three years later the band was set to do something a lot of bands don't do, while double albums get released every now and then by certain bands who are really ambitious, record labels aren't a fan of the move because the results in the records cost more than their competition and therefore hurts their bottom line. Green Day did something completely different. They had recorded so much material by the summer of 2012, they put out three individual albums called "uno", "dos" and "Tre", whose release dates would be roughly a month apart in the later part of 2012. each record would feature a different member on the cover. Personally I've always liked "uno" and "tre" the best. "dos", I could take it or leave it. Prior to the first of the three albums coming out, which was "uno", the band was out promoting the crap out of the record. they were showing up on venues that traditionally rock bands wouldn't go on, including America's Got Talent and The Voice. I don't really watch these shows and Howard Stern being on America's Got Talent wasn't enough for me to tune into that awful show. for those of you who don't know, IHeartRadio used to be called Clear Channel. yes, Howard Stern's former boss, when he was on terrestrial radio. After Stern left, the failing company had tried to rebrand itself with little luck. Since 2010 they had been holding the annual iHeartRadio Music Festival which brings together artists from various genres or so it's marketed. in reality is more heavily leaning towards pop music. Green Day had their "uno" album coming out in September of 2012 and about a week before the record dropped they played the festival and they were joined by a pretty eclectic lineup including Usher, psy, if you guys remember Gangnam style, and 'lil wayne. by this point in their career, Green Day were workhorses. They had been working non-stop since 2009 putting out records, doing a musical, touring and of course that type of lifestyle will eventually catch up with you, especially as you get older. at the same time, many people who find themselves in this situation, are too
attracted to the money to stop. In Billie Joe Armstrong's case, he was now part of the 1% that was so vilified at the beginning of the 2010s. that's not to say that money was his motivation,
he's a musician after all and if he's anything like me, I go stir-crazy sitting for too long at home and doing nothing. according to one estimate, Billie Joe Armstrong was the 42nd richest singer in rock n' roll, with a net worth of more than $55 million, making him wealthier than fellow rock legends like Vince Neil and David Lee Roth. Armstrong would tell Rolling Stone in 2013 that, as the Occupy Wall Street move

LYRICS:
Don’t have to leave this town to see the world
’Cause it’s something that I gotta do
I don’t wanna look back in thirty years
And wonder who you’re married to
Wanna say it now, wanna make it clear
For only you and God to hear
When you love someone
They say you set ’em free
But that ain’t gonna work for me
I don’t wanna live without you
I don’t wanna even breathe
I don’t wanna dream about you
I wanna wake up with you next to me
I don’t wanna go down any other road now
I don’t wanna love nobody but you
Lookin’ in your eyes now, if I had to die now
I don’t wanna love nobody but you
All the wasted days, all the wasted nights
I blame it all on being young
Got no regrets ’cause it got me here
But I don’t wanna waste another one
I been thinkin’ about what I want in my life
It begins and ends the same
If I had to choose what I couldn’t lose
There would only be one thing
I don’t wanna live without you
I don’t wanna even breathe
I don’t wanna dream about you
I wanna wake up with you next to me
I don’t wanna go down any other road now
I don’t wanna love nobody but you
Lookin’ in your eyes now, if I had to die now
I don’t wanna love nobody but you
I wanna say it now, wanna make it clear
For only you and God to hear
I don’t wanna live without you
I don’t wanna even breathe
I don’t wanna dream about you
I wanna wake up with you next to me
I don’t wanna go down any other road now
I don’t wanna love nobody but you
Lookin’ in your eyes now, if I had to die now
I don’t wanna love nobody but you
I don’t wanna love nobody but you
I don’t wanna love nobody but you

Me Pone Mal Lyrics:
Omar Courtz
Mr. Worldwide
Y esto es para todas las mujeres que saben lo que hacen
When I walked up in the spot, and I seen her in the cut
When she walked by we locked eyes, and she said Papi what’s up?
I said Mami where you going, she said wherever you want
So I told her straight up
Ese c*lo me pone mal, en el VIP
Ese c*lo me pone mal, en el VIP
Eeeeeyoooooo
She was sh sh shakin’ that a**
And I was peepin’ and watching and dreaming and rockin’ that a**
And she was looking back at it and looking back like oh
And I was looking straight at it, looking straight at it like woah
Ella es una muñequita
Que se porta bien mal
Que le gusta tomar
Que le gusta fumar
Que le gusta bailar
Que le gusta gozar
Que le gusta sin sin sin
Ya tu sabe
When I walked up in the spot, and I seen her in the cut
When she walked by we locked eyes, and she said Papi what’s up
I said Mami where you going, she said wherever you want
So I told her straight up
Ese c*lo me pone mal, en el VIP
Ese c*lo me pone mal, en el VIP
Malo
El p*nty pal lao te lo jalo
Mojaita me resbalo
Yo no se donde estamos
Pero estamos bien
Mami te doi un 100
Quiero tu ig y tu cel
Por si mañana no te vuelvo a ver
Ella es de la USA, Latina
Es calle pero fina
Es Adictiva, morfina
Después mata la relation
Es asesina
Ella es de la USA, latina
Es calle pero fina
Una asesina que no sabe donde esta
En la disco esta perdida
Me la acabo de encontrar
Me dice que esta borracha
Lo le dijo que estoy igual
Enfocao’ en tus ojitos
Pero sin aderral
No te lo voy’ a negar
No te lo voy’ a negar
Ese c*lo me pone mal, en el VIP
Ese c*lo me pone mal, en el VIP
