It's nice to have your new record crack the Billboard Top 10 on its first week. It means that fans have probably been missing you a bit, and are definitely down with your latest ideas. Norah Jones befriended a massive audience early - 2002's 'Come Away With Me' sold and sold and sold, largely on the charming iridescence of "Don't Know Why." More than 10 albums later, the singer's new 'Visions' presents itself as the Jones disc that trades splendor for swagger. Still pop, it rocks out a bit, feels strongly about its own place in the world, and tickles listeners with a puckish sense of experimentation. Jones has always had a way with subtle R&B, and here she amplifies that prowess. As the songs unfold, they scoot away from the singer's standard fare, testing out tone and texture. The LA Times called it "a funky, gently psychedelic garage-soul record that puts her sultry vocals amid fuzzy guitars, off-kilter drums and crinkly vintage keyboards." You can feel a sense of daring in the music, and it behooves the array of performances. Jones has made official videos for "Paradise," "Running," and "Staring At The Wall." A Brooklyn resident, she hit our BK studios for a shot at "I Just Wanna Dance," which sets up a sweet little groove and rides it home. Rather irresistible, we believe.

About Kes:

What a remarkable sight to see the reunion of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss gathered around a couple of microphones in Nashville. It's been 14 years since their surprising and remarkable album Raising Sand and now they're back at Sound Emporium, the studio where they recorded some of that first record and the entirety of their new album Raise The Roof.

Huddled in the control room are an all-star cast of musicians, with Jay Bellerose on drums, JD McPherson on guitar, Dennis Crouch on upright bass, Stuart Duncan on guitars and ukulele, and Viktor Krauss on electric bass and guitar. All of these folks minus JD McPherson played on the original recordings of the songs you'll hear in this Tiny Desk (home) concert.

They kick it off with the rockabilly sounds of "Can't Let Go," a song originally recorded by Lucinda Williams and written by Randy Weeks. For their second number, Robert Plant recalls a song he first heard as a 15-year-old listening to some great R&B by Bobby Moore & the Rhythm Aces. He and Alison Krauss put their hearts and harmonies into a cover of that song, "Searching For My Love." Alison takes the lead on the final tune "Trouble With My Lover," written by Allen Toussaint and recorded in the '60s by the "Lost Queen of New Orleans Soul," Betty Harris. These interpretations are delicate, gripping and so damn special.

My Name Is Mud" is a song by the American rock band Primus and is the first single from the 1993 album Pork Soda. The lyrics are written from the point of view of a blue-collar man, Aloysius Devandander Abercrombie, who has killed his friend after an argument and is now trying to bury him. The song samples the line "Where are you goin' city boy?" from the film Deliverance.

The track's title refers to a common derogatory phrase that implies its recipient is "a stupid, twaddling fellow".

In 2010, Primus released a new version of the track sung entirely in Spanish under the title "Me Llamo Mud".

The song inspired the theme song to NXT's group SAnitY.
