Lyrics:
I should've stayed with you last night
Instead of going out to find trouble
That's just trouble (Mmm)
I think I run away sometimes
Whenever I get too vulnerable
That's not your fault (Yeah)

See, I wanna stay the whole night
I wanna lay with you 'til the sun's up
I wanna let you inside
Oh, Heaven knows I've tried

I wish that I could let you love
Wish that I could let you love me
I wish that I could let you love
Wish that I could let you love me
Say what's the matter, what's the matter with me?
What's the matter with me?
Oh, I wish that I could let you love
Wish that I could let you love me now
Oh, I wish, oh, I wish, oh, I wish, oh, I wish, I
Oh, I wish, oh, I wish, oh, I wish, oh, I wish, I

And every time it gets too real
And every time I feel us sabotaging
I start running (Yeah, eh)
And every time I push away
I really wanna say that I'm sorry (Yeah)
But I say nothing (Yeah)

I wanna stay with you 'til the morning
I wanna lay with you through the sunrise
I wanna show you that you're my only
I wanna lay with you 'til the sun's up
I wanna stay with you 'til the morning
I wanna lay with you through the sunrise, through the sunrise
Oh-oh-oh-oh, Heaven knows I've tried

I wish that I could let you love
Wish that I could let you love me (Me, yeah)
I wish that I could let you love
Wish that I could let you love me
Say what's the matter, what's the matter with me?
What's the matter with me?
Oh, I wish that I could let you love
Wish that I could let you love me now
Say what's the matter, what's the matter with me?
What's the matter with me?
Oh, I wish that I could let you love
Wish that I could let you love me now
Oh, I wish, oh, I wish, oh, I wish, oh, I wish, I
Oh, I wish, oh, I wish, oh, I wish, oh, I wish, I

TRU - Hoody Hooo (Official Video) (Uncensorsed) Hotney 8 Streams • 2 years ago

Artist: TRU
Album: Da Crime Family
Released: 1999
Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Lyrics
Don't make me call the dogs (use my ghetto code)
Oh, we got beef? (Hoody Hoo)
I represent the dirty south
For all my thugs and thugettes out there
To the world
Get rowdy rowdy, bout it bout it (Where they at?)
Where the tru thugs at?
4 or 5 hummers, Burban, Jag for the summer
SS sittin 20's but I ain't no muthafuckin stunna
Grab the gat, where they at, rat-tat-tat-tat
I represent the 3rd ward
You a rookie, I'm a vet, you the captain, I'm the crunch
You got that dinner, I got the lunch, hit the weed, pass the blunts
Your eyes red, you got the munchies
How you like me now, gold teeth when I smile
Try to take me out the ghetto but I'm still buckwild
So buckle up nigga, knuckle up nigga
(Hoody Hoo!) That's the code for them killas
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
One for the money, two for the show
Three for my niggas, four to go
When I hear hoody hoo it's time to ride
Let nothin slide, let nothin go
If you bout your paper then scream (Hoody Hoo!)
If you don't fuck with them haters scream (Hoody Hoo!)
If you about big thangs then scream (Hoody Hoo!)
If about havin thangs the scream (Hoody Hoo!)
Whoa, hold on lil daddy, watch my feet
I know you gettin rowdy and everything
KL, bring that beat back
Drop the hot shit
So I can cop the new shit, the blue six
Niggas hatin these days
So guess what, I bulletproofed it
N-O-L-I-M-I to the T nigga
TRU is who we be nigga
Then scream if you with me nigga
So buckle up nigga, knuckle up nigga
(Hoody Hoo!) That's the code for them killas
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
Straight from the South, got them golds in my mouth
Converse on my feet
Thug girls bounce dat ass to the beat
We be No Limit niggas, and we rowdy
We come to the club and get the motherfucker wildin
Fuck, I been to the streets
Rest in peace to my peeps
Stay at home if you weak, gotta hustle just to eat
And the pound put it down, all them girls can't tell
TRU niggas make mail, all them haters go to hell
Throw 'em up Uptown, all the way to Downtown
You might get clowned, so you better pack a round
TRU niggas want it all, we gon' ball till we fall
Put my tank on the wall, Hoody Hoo be call, nigga
So buckle up nigga, knuckle up nigga
(Hoody Hoo!) That's the code for them killas
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)
(Hoody Hoo!) Buckle up, knuckle up (What you wanna do?)

Joe: Tiny Desk Concert Hotney 8 Streams • 5 months ago

This Black Music Month, Tiny Desk celebrates the undeniable legacy of BET. Like the network that put Black artistry first, these sets reflect the essence of Black music.

Bobby Carter | June 10, 2026
R&B veteran Joe Thomas earned every chain and stripe on his body as he stepped behind the Tiny Desk. For every Usher, Ne-Yo, and Leon Thomas who has played in our office, fans of one of their archetypes wondered when he would get his shot. We saw the petitions and social media posts, but trust: We chased for years. Before the music started, the singer-songwriter and producer explained: “Where have I been for the past few years? Well, I’ve been on the road touring. I’m here with you all today, and I wanna do a few songs throughout the catalog.”

Each of the “few songs” Joe refers to is a chart-topping, gold and platinum-selling smash from the ‘90s and early 2000s. At the Desk, Thomas proves the time away hasn’t diminished anything. He quickly gathers the entire audience in one hand, blazing through songs like “Good Girls,” “The Love Scene” and the dirty macking anthem, “All the Things (Your Man Won’t Do).” Joe closes the set with a tender moment, inviting his daughter, Kayla, to sing background on his biggest hit, “I Wanna Know.”

LYRICS:
I just can’t take it, you know I had enough
Say I should fake it? I say alienate ‘em
I try and hide it, my contempt for a shill
Grifter, misleader, on a campaign to kill

Ain’t nothin stand to reason
Ain’t nothin more to say
Tell me don’t stoke the fire

Tell me the truth, not a lie
Take me away back to my life
What do we do? End days
Future of youth
a Heartbeat away

There’s only one side when the one side is hate
Getting on my bad side was the one way you relate
I put my faith into your lie to my face
Won’t pledge allegiance to your house of disgrace

Ain’t nothin’ stand to reason
Ain’t nothin’ more to say
Tell me don’t stoke the fire?

Tell me the truth, not a lie
Take me away back to my life
What do we do? End days
Future of Youth
a Heartbeat Away
