Curb Servin'(1995)
Writer-Dub-C,Cube,and Mack 10
Producer-DJ Crazy Toones

Intro: WC

Wessyde-fa-life-in-ya!!
('Throwin up the W' -- Ice Cube) 2X
Yeah, I'm with this, what we throwin up?
('Throwin up the W' -- Ice Cube)
All you busta as* niggaz out there

I got my motherf**kin homeboys in the house ('Throwin up the W')
My nigga Ice Cube ('Throwin up the W'), Mack 10
Back to set the record straight for all these busta as* niggaz
who trip, this how we do it nigga

Chorus: WC

Front back side to side
We be givin it up, till the day we die
Niggaz hit me up, I'ma have ta erupt
So motherf**ker West Up!
(repeat 2X)

Verse One: WC

Nigga clear the lane, here I come, once again
With this, gangsta click, droppin this, gangsta shit
Strictly for the riders who ride us I gotta WestSider
rhymer for them niggaz that's sittin on them Dayton wires
Pump the bass, hit the switch
Cause Ice Cube, Mack 10, and Dub-C, back up in this b-i-itch
Straight hoodsta for life, ain't no lookin back
Ink in my flesh, WestSide tattered on my chest
Walkin with the shadow of death
Through the land of the skanless, South Central Los Angeles
Home of the Crips and the Bloods
Where even the strongest niggaz is drug through the mud
And visitors from outta town best to stay in Hollywood
You get that tourist as* ganked strollin through my hood
West coast till the casket drop
I be throwin it up, so motherf**ker West Up!

Verse Two: Mack 10

It's gun ho Mack one-oh please you can't f**k wit deez
Ice Cubez and Dub-Ceez is my G'z
And hip-hop, top three niggaz the new bosses
Never slippin cause we flosses, packin Nina Rosses
Nigga, thought you knew how we do it
Ain't a Damn Thing Changed, always on them thangs
forever and a day, so back up, gimme room, don't neglect

Just respect and everything I can't check I wreck
Now you can cross out the bustas and snitches
Shit only killers hootchie bit*hes and hot hydraulic switches allowed
On the turf where the real hogs dwell
Sewed up the hood, the fattest bolas on the block for sale
Inglewood City, the throne I call home
Niggaz be so bright, you might need your locs on
to bail through, it's fin you're in with Mack 10
And I gotta confess up, nigga this West Up! for life

Chorus

Verse Three: Ice Cube

Now I got ta show you how the West coast rocks
No razor blades, in my mouth, just a glock
And I'm hittin you up, with that W-S
The sun, rises in the East, but it sets in the West
No gold teeth, you gets a wreath
So hand me the goodies, stockin mask, no hoodies
Christmas day, I'm in a tre
While some of you niggaz got the robe reindeer and a sleigh
We don't call it five-oh, we call it one time
It's my life my life my life my life, in the sunshine!
One nine weighs a ton
How the f**k you think that the West was won?
Now sh*t can be squashed over a forty ounce of backwash
No jokes, the land of locs and hundred spokes
In the East, we can be brothers
But when you come to L.A., watch your motherf**kin colors
West Up! nigga

Chorus

Verse Four: WC

Give it up, give it up
Like the nigga James Brown, me and my niggaz are puttin it down
So bustas be wary cause see we represent the city
Where niggaz caught slippin is left with they brains drippin
City of the Angels, more like a concrete jungle
full of macks Cadillacs and crack sacks
I pledge allegiance to the sh*t till I die
[Mack 10] So let the five-twenty slide and put it down from the WestSide

Chorus

WestSide!!!
('Throwin up the W')

LYRICS:
She’s a cheetah
Grown man-eater
Sink her teeth in
‘Til you think you need her

She’s a keeper
‘Till she leaves ya
She’ll break your heart in
someone else’s T shirt

Cheetah
Cheetah

I thought that she was my girl
But I guess she’s for the streets
Or for the jungle
I thought I knew it but it turns out
She had a whole ‘nother thing going on

Ay
She's lying, she snakey
She’ll chew you to the bone
Looking back, I guess I shoulda known

She’s a cheetah
Grown man-eater
Sink her teeth in
‘Til you think you need her

She’s a keeper
‘Till she leaves ya
She’ll break your heart in
someone else’s T shirt

Walked in on her the other day
I heard she was with somebody
I saw the bites all on her neck
She’s an animal
She’s a real bad chick
She started begging me to stay
I told her that it’s over babe
I knew I had to get away

Ay
She's lying, she snakey
She’ll chew you to the bone
Looking back, I guess I shoulda known

She’s a cheetah
Grown man-eater
Sink her teeth in
‘Til you think you need her

She’s a keeper
‘Till she leaves ya
She’ll break your heart in
someone else’s T shirt

Lyrics:

[Intro: Barbie & Ken]
Hiya, Barbie
Hi, Ken
Do you wanna go for a ride?
Sure, Ken
Jump in

[Chorus: Barbie & Ken]
I'm a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
Come on, Barbie, let's go party

[Chorus: Barbie & Ken]
I'm a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation

[Verse 1: Barbie & Ken]
I'm a blonde bimbo girl in a fantasy world
Dress me up, make me tight, I'm your dolly
You're my doll, rock and roll, feel the glamor in pink
Kiss me here, touch me there, hanky-panky

[Bridge: Barbie]
You can touch, you can play
If you say I'm always yours
Ooh woo

[Chorus: Barbie]
I'm a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation

[Breakdown: Barbie & Ken]
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ah, ah, ah, yeah
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ooh, ooh
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ah, ah, ah, yeah
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ooh, ooh

[Verse 2: Barbie & Ken]
Make me walk, make me talk, do whatever you please
I can act like a star, I can beg on my knees
Come jump in, bimbo friend, let us do it again
Hit the town, fool around, let's go party

[Bridge: Barbie]
You can touch, you can play
If you say I'm always yours
You can touch, you can play
If you say I'm always yours

[Breakdown: Barbie & Ken]
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ah, ah, ah, yeah
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ooh, ooh
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ah, ah, ah, yeah
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ooh, ooh

[Chorus: Barbie]
I'm a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
I'm a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation

[Breakdown: Barbie & Ken]
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ah, ah, ah, yeah
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ooh, ooh
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ah, ah, ah, yeah
Come on Barbie, let's go party
Ooh, ooh

[Outro: Barbie & Ken]

Jeru The Damaja - You Can't Stop The Prophet (Produced by DJ Premier) Hotney 7 Streams • 4 years ago

From the 1994 album: "The Sun Rises In The East"

Kendrick Jeru Davis, known as Jeru the Damaja (born February 14, 1972), is an American rapper best known for his 1994 debut album, The Sun Rises in the East, ranked as one of the 100 greatest hip-hop albums of all time by the editors of About.com. He has worked extensively with Guru and DJ Premier of Gang Starr, whom he has known since he was in high school.

Jeru the Damaja was born February 14, 1972, in Brooklyn, New York, and spent his early years in the borough's East New York neighborhood, where he began rhyming at block parties as a youth.

Davis first showcased his unique style to audiences on "I'm the Man", a track from Gang Starr's 1992 album Daily Operation. The following year he released his first single "Come Clean" which was produced by DJ Premier and became an underground hit.

Davis's first album, The Sun Rises in the East, was released in 1994 and produced entirely by DJ Premier. The album was well-received but was criticized by the Fugees for its lyrics, particularly for the song "Da Bichez". Fugees member Pras lightly mentioned Jeru on the track "Zealots", from the group's landmark 1996 album The Score, with the line "No matter who you damage, you're still a false prophet", referencing Jeru's single "You Can't Stop the Prophet". Jeru responded lightly in the intro of the track "Me or the Papes" and also on the track "Black Cowboys".

Davis followed up in 1996 with his second album, Wrath of the Math, again produced solely by DJ Premier. The album was also widely acclaimed, although not on the same level as his debut. As on his first album, Jeru was critical of commercial hip-hop artists and the record labels that produced them such as Death Row Records and Bad Boy Entertainment; the latter he criticized on the concept track "One Day". After the release of Math, Jeru reportedly had a falling-out with DJ Premier and Guru. Jeru, however, has dismissed this and claimed that they wanted to go in different directions.

Davis appeared semi-retired until 1999, when he released his third album, Heroz4Hire, released together with Mizmarvel, which was his first album under his then-newly created Know Savage Records. It featured the single "99.9%". His next album, Divine Design, released in 2003, was the first album under his new record label, Ashenafi Records. The album received little attention and mixed reviews. On April 2, 2007, during a La Coka Nostra concert at the Gramercy Theatre in New York, Jeru the Damaja came out for a surprise appearance to perform his song "D. Original". His album Still Rising was released on October 16, 2007.

In 2009, Jeru started to collaborate with drum and bass producers. In 2009, he is featured on Kabuki's track "Watch Your Step", produced by Mainframe and also on "Open Up Their Eyes" by Italian producer Fabio Musta. He also collaborated with Group Home in 2010 for a song, "Guru" dedicated to the late rapper Guru. The next year, Jeru announced that he would be releasing a new record with production from '90s legends JuJu from the Beatnuts, Pete Rock, Large Professor and old collaborator DJ Premier but the album was not released. The same year he featured in the song "Oddałbym" on the album Reedukacja of Polish hip-hop group Slums Attack (Peja, Dj Decks). Polish rap star OSTR also featured on it, and the album was a great success in Poland, selling out in the first couple of days. In 2012 Jeru featured in the song "The Mourning Son" on the album Remix with the Sun of French trip hop group Chinese Man.

In July 2013, Jeru promised to soon release a new EP with production from Large Professor, PF Cuttin, Junkyard Ju, and Sabor. On June 17, 2014, Jeru released an EP through Hedspinn Records entitled The Hammer for digital download.

In 2013 The Sun Rises in the East was ranked as one of the 100 greatest hip-hop albums of all time by the editors of About.com, who called it "one of the quintessential '90s hip-hop albums."
