With his band Talking Heads, David Byrne helped define the art rock genre for the 1970s and '80s, in part because of his eccentricities as a frontman. With his oversized suits, experimental vocals, oddball dancing and sometimes difficult attitude, he's one of a kind.

He's branched out well beyond music, working in epistemology, writing, bicycle design, podcasting and, most recently, on Broadway. The Scotland-born singer clearly has a wide array of interests. His TED Talk about shape, space and creativity also touches on West African music, Bach and birds.

The restoration and re-release of the classic 1984 concert film "Stop Making Sense" is an occasion for the members of the band Talking Heads – David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth and Jerry Harrison – to get reacquainted after decades of estrangement, and to revisit a moment of jubilant shared success. Reuniting for their first joint television interview in decades, they talked with "CBS Mornings" co-host Tony Dokoupil about Talking Heads' origins and their funky blend of rock and performance art; and how, within a few years of the film, the band went on a break that never really ended.

Deftones were and always have been wrongly associated with the Nu-Metal movement, despite the fact their music tells a very different story. The band themselves have even rejected the notion of being associated with the genre so how did they come to be mis-genred.

Korn's debut record, which most consider to be the commercial catapult for Nu-metal, hit the shelves exactly one year before Deftones released their debut album, Adrenaline, well, give or take a few days. So in some regards it’s easy to see why Deftones joined the ranks of Korn, Limp Bizkit and even Slipknot when being designated a Nu-Metal band. They essentially rose to fame in the same scene as the red caps, adidas tracksuits and boiler suits.

He was a founding member of the iconic band Slipknot and a revered drummer by musicians around the world.

Nathan Jonas "Joey" Jordison was born on April 26th 1975. He grew up in Des Moines Iowa with his parents and two sisters. He started to play drums when he was just 8 years old and he had a passion for music.

Jordison formed a band in his early years that he described as “total speed-metal thrash” and in his early years as a drummer shared a stage with Jim Root and Shawn Crahan. Who at the time were in different bands.

After leaving School, Joey was determined to continue to follow his dream of being a rock n roll musician and eventually found his way into the path of what would become one of the most iconic bands of all time.

In 1995, Jordison was offered a position as a drummer in a band called The Pale Ones, which included Anders Colsefni, the original singer of Slipknot. Little did Jordison know The Pale Ones would eventually become SLipknot.

To This day Joey Dordison is considered to be one of the founding members of SLipknot along with Shawn Crahan and Paul Gray

In 2013 SLipknot announced that Jordison would no longer be in the band and speculation grew for months after as to why. Slipknot say that Joey left the band whilst Joey said he was fired.

Whatever happened between Joey and Slipknot, it is with great sadness that we hear the news of Joey Jordison's passing.

On JUly 28th 2021 Joey Jordisomns family issued a statement that said “We are heartbroken to share the news that Joey Jordison, prolific drummer, musician and artist passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2021. He was 46”

It’s not clear what happened to Joey but no doubt his family would want you to remember him for who he was, and amazing drummer and a huge influence on the world of metal. Rest In Peace Joey.
