Casvallah - Mysterious Desert (1977) [Full Album] Hotney 7 Streams • 2 years ago

*Casvallah* is known as a unique fictional band that emerged in the 1970s and has carved out a unique place for itself in the music world, combining the influences of psychedelic rock, surf rock, and Middle Eastern desert music. The band was formed in the mid-1970s and quickly gained a cult following with its captivating music that immersed its listeners in a hypnotic desert atmosphere.

- *Foundation and Early Years:*
Casvallah was formed in 1973 in the Los Angeles music scene on the west coast of California. The band's founders set out with the idea of blending the energy of psychedelic rock and surf rock with the mystical melodies of the Middle East. The band's name, Casvallah, refers to a legendary desert kingdom from ancient times, and the band members were determined to bring this mystical spirit to life in their music. In their own words, their music was described as "a journey into the depths of the mind, as harsh as sandstorms and as peaceful as oases."

- *Musical Style:*
Casvallah's music includes long instrumental sections, intense guitar riffs, reverb-filled surf sounds and experimental sound effects that are characteristic of psychedelic rock. However, the band's real point of difference was their Middle Eastern music influences. They frequently included instruments such as the oud, saz, and darbuka in their songs, transporting the listener to an ancient and mysterious land outside the modern world.

This style did not limit them to the Western scene, but also allowed them to draw inspiration from the music of the Middle East and North Africa. These desert breezes, added to the refreshing wave sounds of classic surf rock and the cosmic atmosphere of psychedelic rock, placed Casvallah in a unique position in the music world.

- *Mysterious Desert (1977):*
Their most famous album, "Mysterious Desert", released in 1977, represents the band's musical peak. The album brings together the mysterious world of the Middle Eastern desert and the energetic structure of rock. Songs like "Dunes of Illusion", "Oasis Reverie" and "Sands of Time" symbolize a desert journey that is both melancholic and meditative. Created instrumentally, these pieces draw the listener into a story without the need for words. The album invites the listener into the depths of the desert, while combining different worlds with its hypnotic rhythms and spatial guitar melodies.

- *Band Members:*
-Jake "The Breeze" Navarro – Lead Guitar, Saz, Oud
-Eliyah Zahir – Rhythm Guitar, Vocals
-Tommy "Waves" Martins – Bass Guitar
-Daniel "Sandy" Holt – Drums, Percussion
-Adela Farouk – Synths, Organ

The band is now considered a cult classic and is considered one of the most interesting experimental music groups of the 1970s, skillfully blending ancient Middle Eastern melodies with Western rock music in their music. Casvallah's influence is still felt by modern psychedelic bands and surf rock artists.

- *Tracklist:*
00:00 Dunes of Illusion
05:26 Mirage Caravan
10:53 Sands of Time
15:46 Oasis Reverie
20:07 Temple of the Sun

Lyrics:

I can spell it out for you
Every night you’re coming home
I’ll be laid out for you
You can feel free to control
Keep it in motion, emotion
Put me in position
Cup of devotion, unspoken
You got my permission
Kiss it better, tell me where
Braid your secrets in my hair
(Trust me baby)
I can handle you, can you handle
Trust!
Trust!
I can handle you, can you handle
Trust!
Trust!
I can handle you, can you handle
Trust!
Ooh la la, get me going like ga ga ga
Trust!
Ooh la la
I can handle you, can you handle
Trust!
Ooh la la, get me going like ga ga ga Trust!
Ooh la la
I can handle you, can you handle
I can freak with you all night long
Ride the tractor like an outlaw
Shoot me to the stars I’m so gone
Ughh, your moan is my favorite song
Bang bang bang me down the door
Is my body mine or yours?
Break it, break it to the floor
This is what you came here for!
Keep it in motion, emotion
Put me in position
Cup of devotion, unspoken
You got my permission
Kiss it better, tell me where
Braid your secrets in my hair
(Trust me baby)
I can handle you, can you handle
Trust!
Trust!
I can handle you, can you handle
While you're on your way home to me
I’m preparing your fantasy
Make you food and your special treat
Eat eat eat eat!
I got your heart in my hands
Like a puppet make it dance
Hard and steady fast romance
Make me feel like I'm the man!
Trust!
Ooh la la, get me going like ga ga ga
Trust!
Ooh la la
I can handle you, can you handle
Trust!
Ooh la la, get me going like ga ga ga
Trust!
Ooh la la
I can handle you, can you handle?
Trust
Ooh la la, get me going like ga ga ga Trust!
Ooh la la
Trust
Ooh la la, get me going like ga ga ga
Trust me baby
I can handle you, can you handle?
