LYRICS:

5, 6, 7, 8

Dance with me in my backyard boy
Looking super fine in your corduroy
Drive me round the block we can go in a loop
And we'll turn the volume up on some good boy band tunes

Love to feel the fresh air I can feel your eyes stare
And I'm not gonna lie I get a little bit scared
My heart is on wings I'm living in dreams
And at the top of our lungs we sing

(dadadadadadadadadadadada)
Everything is perfect
(dadadadadadadadadadadada)
All our words were worth it
(dadadadadadadadadadadada)
Dancing around like a clown at the circus
(dadadadadadadadadadadada)
Backyard boy you make me nervous

Dance with me in my backyard boy
Looking super fine in your corduroy (5, 6, 7, 8)
Roll the windows down let the bass drop low
And everybody's talking but I don't wanna know

Love to feel the fresh air I can feel your eyes staring
And I'm not gonna lie I get a little bit scared
My heart is on wings I'm living in dreams
And at the top of our lungs we sing

(dadadadadadadadadadadada)
Everything is perfect
(dadadadadadadadadadadada)
All our words were worth it
(dadadadadadadadadadadada)
Dancing around like a clown at the circus
(dadadadadadadadadadadada)
Backyard boy you make me nervous

Lyrics:

[Verse 1: Milk Dee]
MC am I, people call me Milk
When I'm bustin up a party I feel no guilt
Gizmo's cuttin, up for thee
Suckers that's, down with nei-
-ther one of us, that's how I feel
To be down you must appeal
To the Two, we're rated R
We're gifted, and we're going far
Down the road, to the bank
While I'm here I'd like to thank
Mom and dad, they knew the time
Gizmo's scratching, Milk Dee's rhyming

[Chorus: Milk Dee]
Milk is chillin', Giz is chillin'
What more can I say? Top billin'
That's what we get, got it good
Since you understood, would you

[Verse 2: Milk Dee]
Stop scheming, and looking hard
I got a great big bodyguard
So step up if you wanna get hurt
Milk Dee's gonna pull the skirt
I get money, money I got
Stunts call me honey if they feel real hot
That's how it is, you can ask Giz
I stole your girl while you were in prison
Jailed for MC assault
You was jealous it's all your fault

[Chorus: Milk Dee]
Milk is chillin', Giz is chillin'
What more can I say? Top billin'
That's what we get, got it good
And since you understood, would you

[Verse 3: Milk Dee]
Clap your hands, your hands you clap
If your girl's out of place it's your girl I slap
And if you're dumb, you'll ask why
I am from Bed, Do-or-Die
The Audio Two, the Two's Audio
I got a brother and his name's Gizmo

[Chorus: Milk Dee]
Milk is chillin', Gizmo's chillin'
What more can I say? Top billin'
That's what we get, got it good
And since you understood, would you

[Verse 4: Milk Dee]
Bite a rhyme, if you dare
I get the papers so I don't care
My contributions to this jam
Is confusing, because I am
Milk Dee stated all the way
The super easy midas MC okay
Yes I'm down, down by law
I get the girlies out on the floor
G is D, down is G
Two the at the top is where he'll be
The at is us, call us the aud
Girls come in you won't be bored

[Chorus: Milk Dee]
Milk is chillin', Gizmo's chillin'
What more can I say? Top billin'
That's what we get, got it good
And since you understood, would you

[Outro: Milk Dee]
Do a dance, dance the Two
If, you can dance it's easy to do
This dance is on and on and on
Dance until your breath is gone!
What more can I say? Top billin'
What more can I say? Top billin'
What more can I say? Top billin'
What more can I say? Top billin'
What more can I say? Top billin'
What more can I say? Top billin'
What more can I say? Top billin'
What more can I say? Top billin'

EPMD is an American hip hop group from Brentwood, New York. The group's name is a concatenation of the members' name "E" and "PMD" or an acronym for "Erick and Parrish Making Dollars" (later "Erick and Parrish Millennium Ducats"), referencing its members, emcees Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith ("PMD"). The group has been active for more than 20 years (1986present), and is one of the most prominent acts in East coast hip hop. Diamond J, DJ K La Boss, and DJ Scratch were DJs for the group.

The word "business" is used in every title of the group's albums. Every album also has a track titled "Jane".

EPMD's first album, Strictly Business, appeared in 1988, which featured the underground hit "Strictly Business," based on a sample of Eric Clapton's version of Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff." Many critics cite this first album as the group's most influential.[citation needed] The group's brand of funk-fueled sample-heavy hip-hop proved to be a major force in the genre. Unlike old school hip hop, which was originally based on disco hits but eventually became more electronic, EPMD based its music mainly on lifting funk and rock breaks for samples and helped to popularize their usage, along with Marley Marl and Public Enemy. "You're a Customer" combined snippets of Steve Miller's "Fly Like an Eagle," Kool & the Gang's "Jungle Boogie," and the bass line from ZZ Tops "Cheap Sunglasses." "Jane," about a romantic rendezvous turned bad, would be revisited on no less than five sequels; a first for hip-hop, and, perhaps, rock and roll as well. "You Gots to Chill" used 1980s funk band Zapp's "More Bounce to the Ounce," which has become one of the most enduring sample sources for hip-hop. "I'm Housin'" was covered some 12 years later by Rage Against the Machine. Managed early on by Russell Simmons' RUSH Management, the group toured with such hip-hop luminaries as Run-DMC, Public Enemy, and DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince.
Promotional EPMD t-shirt for their 1990 Business As Usual album

EPMD signed with Fresh/Sleeping Bag Records, which eventually released its debut album, Strictly Business, by electro funk pioneer Kurtis Mantronik. Propelled by several strong singles ("You Gots to Chill" and the albums title track), the album was eventually certified gold, selling over 500,000 copies[citation needed], as did 1989's follow-up, Unfinished Business. Financial frustrations followed when Sleeping Bag went under in 1992. The two EPMD albums and Nice & Smooths debut album were acquired by Priority/EMI Records before the label was sold to Warlock Records. The duos Sleeping Bag contract was acquired by Def Jam. EPMD returned in 1990 with Business As Usual and Business Never Personal two years later. By 1992, the group presided over an extended family dubbed the Hit Squad, which included Redman, K-Solo, Das EFX, Hurricane G, and Knucklehedz.

In 1992, EPMD had a hit with its song "Crossover," which lamented rappers making blatant concessions to pop sensibilities in order to get mainstream attention from music audiences.[1] Ironically, the song became a crossover hit itself peaking at #42 on the Billboard Hot 100 and in doing so becoming their biggest hit to date.

The duo split in January 1993, under controversial circumstances. According to interviews in The Source and Rap Pages, in late 1991, Smith's house was burglarized by armed intruders. According to Smith, in the ensuing police investigation, one of the apprehended culprits supposedly gave up Sermon's name as having allegedly paid them to do it. Sermon was arrested and briefly detained for questioning, but no charges were filed. Still, it led to lingering tensions, and by the time of the break-up, Sermon alleged financial impropriety on Smith's part. The duo found itself as solo artists by default: Sermon debuted in 1993 with No Pressure, followed by Double or Nothing (1995), Def Squad Presents Erick Onasis (2000), Music (2001), and React (2002). Smith made his statements on 1994's Shade Business, followed by Business is Business in 1996.

Lyrics:
Arm me with harmony
Dave, drop a load on 'em
O.P.P., how can I explain it
I'll take it frame by frame it
To have y'all all jumping, shouting, saying it
O is for other, P is for peoples', scratch your temple
The last P, well that's not that simple
It's sort of like, well, another way to call a cat a kitten
It's five little letters that are missing here
You get on occasion if the other party isn't gaming
It seems I gotta start the explaining, bust it
You ever had a girl and met her on a nice hello
You get her name and number and then left feeling real mellow
You get home, wait a day she's what you wanna know about
Then you call up and it’s her girlfriend’s or her cousin’s house?!
It’s not a front, a F to the R to the O to the N to the T;
It's just her boyfriend's at her house
(Oh that’s why she’s scary)
It's OPP, time other people's what you get it
There's no room for relationship there's just room to hit it
How many brothers out there know just what I'm getting at
Who think it's wrong cause I was splitting and co-hitting that
Well if you do, that's O.P.P. and you're not down with it
But if you don't, here's your membership
You down with O.P.P.? (Yeah, you know me) [x3]
Who’s down with O.P.P.? (Every last homey)
You down with O.P.P.? (Yeah, you know me) [x3]
Who’s down with O.P.P.? (All the homies)
Well, for the ladies O.P.P. means something different
The first two letters' the same but the last is something different
It's the longest, loveliest, lean, I call it the leanest
It's another five letter word rhyming with "cleanness" or "meanness"
I won't get into that, I'll do it ah sorta properly
I'll say the last P hmmm stands for property
Now lady here comes a kiss, blow a kiss back to me
Now tell me exactly
Have you ever known a brother who had another like a girl or wife
And you just had to stop a toast cause he looked just that nice?
You looked at him, he looked at you and you knew right away
He had someone but he was gonna be yours anyway!
You couldn't be seen with him at all and still you didn't care
Cause in a room behind a door no one but y'all are there
When y'all are finished, y'all can leave and only y'all would know
And then y'all could throw that skeleton bone right in the closet do'.
Now don't be shocked cause if you're down I want your hands up high
Say O.P.P. (O.P.P.) I like to say with pride
Now when you do it, do it well and make sure that it counts
You're now down with a discount
You down with O.P.P.? (Yeah, you know me!) [x3]
Who’s down with O.P.P.? (Every last lady!)
You down with O.P.P.? (Yeah, you know me!) [x3]
Who’s down with O.P.P.? (All the ladies!)
A scab tried to O.P.P. me
I had a girl and she knew that. Matter-of-fact her and my girl was partners that
Had a fall out, disagreement, yeah an argument
She tried to do me so we did it in my apartment
Bust it
That wasn't the thing it must have been the way she hit the ceiling
Cause after that she kept on coming back and catching feelings
I said, "Let's go, my girl is coming so you gotta leave."
She said, "Oh no, I love you, Treach!" I said, "Now, child, please!
"You gots to leave, come grab your coat, right now you gotta go!"
I said, "Now look you chooses stairs or chooses the window
This was a thing, a little thing, you shouldn't have brought your heart
Cause you know I was OPP, hell from the very start!"
Come on, come on, now let me tell you what it's all about
When you get down, you can't go 'round running off at the mouth
That's rule number one in this O.P.P. establishment
You keep your mouth shut and it won't get back to her or him!
Exciting isn't it, a special kinda business
Many of you will catch the same sorta O.P.P. messing with
Him or her for sure ain't going to admit it
When O.P.P. comes, damn skippy I'm with it
You down with O.P.P.? (Yeah you know me!) [x3]
Who’s down with O.P.P.? (This whole party!)
[x2]

Prod. By AaronOrAge x R14
Dir. by DonProd x Digga D

Lyrics:
I made my bed, so Imma lie in it
Silk quilt fit for a king
I love the finer things
Punch your boyfriend in the face with these diamond rings
God must can forgive me for them minor sins
They’re in the comments on the blogs saying stand up
Like they knew that she was kneeling giving mad uck
Bae don’t read the comments man, that's bad luck
She said she’ll rather cry in a lamb truck
New Lamborghini
Private jet to Greece, helicopter Santorini
You look cute in your bikini
I drop six racks on flights
Everytime I tell Tweetie come and see me, believe me
In every aspect of this life that we’re living
Im winning, I can't block my own nigga over women
From burners to murders, to money and girls
Even down to music coz when I drop, my shit sells

I'm from block, i'm from block
Where you put bullets in your G lock
See opps and squeeze off, opps and squeeze off, opps and beat off
And make them speed off

I'm from block, I’m from block
Where you put bullets in your G lock
See opps and squeeze off, opps and squeeze off, opps and beat off
And make them speed off

Hopped off the private jet, where we flying next
I don't like this urus, brudda bring the higher spec
I can make a nigga fry your ex via text
Remember seeing undercovers outside my address

All my niggas breathing, hallelujah
Why the fuck you worrying about me you little loser
Iyt look
Let's put the music money to the side 100k in a day, when I was 20
What's the vibe

Remember when the haters said my chains cost Loubs
Now i spend his chain money on a few shoes
Calm down if you only got a 2 2s
Bring my arms round, my AK protects the bluwuus

Urus or the cully
Glizzy or the brukky
She wants to suck my …..
Let's stop all of the fuckery
Iyt cool, are you gonna sign the NDA or what
Coz if not I got a thicker bitch thats gonna take your spot

Buss downs and birkins bae, that's the bare minimum
Last year a nigga ran through, a whole million
Dates overseas by the beach with some cool breeze, cuzzy needs some money
That aint nothing, they just call Rhys

I bought my niggas watches, out the goodness of my heart
He bought his niggas watches just to try and look the part
I buy my niggas ….
And make them bang them off in …..
No likkle ones, I has the AKs in Powis Park

I'm from block, i'm from block
Where you put bullets in your G lock
See opps and squeeze off, opps and squeeze off, opps and beat off
And make them speed off

MC Shan - The Bridge Hotney 6 Streams • 3 years ago

Producer - Marley Marl
1986 , Bridge Records
Lyrics:
Ladies and Gentleman
We got MC Shan and Marley Marl in the house tonight
They just came from off tour and they want to tell you a little story
about where they come from

The Bridge (3X)
Queensbridge

You love to hear the story again and again
of how it all got started way back when
The monument is right in your face
Sit and listen for a while to the name of the place

The Bridge (3X)
Queensbridge

Hip hop was set out in the dark
They used to do it out in the park
Every place they said his name it rang an alarm
Otherwise known as Mean T-Tom
A Brother who's known for his Rap - Jappy Jap
Larry Larr , third least not last
A cool brother by the Name of Gas
Phase Brothers made you get loose
They was down with a Brother called Cousin Bruce

They used to jam in the center
You had to pay so you could enter
Go to the door
Get frisked
Just in order to get in
And if you wasn't from this town
Then you couldn't fight and win
But everytime they had a jam
They couldn't get no peace
So that's why the jam's out there
And the parks they had to cease cause you was in

The Bridge (4X)
Queensbridge

Why don't you wise up
Show all the people in the place that you are bright
Make this here one jam that you do not start no fight
Cause that is one thing that we all must see done
And if you start some shit your ass had better run
Cause you're in

The Bridge (4X)
Queensbridge

Dimples-D the Girl, she was great
Her and Marley Marl went and cut a plate
They used to rock it out in the place
And the title of it was 'Sucker DJs'
And then he strolled along one day
And then he walked into a girl named Shante
Third in line you know its me
MC Shan ha ha in the place to be
MC Man he made them beg
He is the man who is known as Craig
The newest member out to get loose
Now he is down with us and he got the juice
This is the place where stars are born
And we are the only ones that can't be worn
Out
By any place any part of the world
And while i'm out on tour keep your hand off my girl
When she's in

The Bridge (8X)
Queensbridge

Dead dreams, bought and sold
You gotta try and receive your goal
However you do it however you're made
Don't ever listen to what ? say
Cause I will tell you the deal
You gotta go by what your heart feel
Cause if you don't you'll be misled
By stupid little things put inside your head
Or someone else that you will see
Their trying to live your destiny
By the time you think about it your grown
And then you gotta say god damn I gotta leave my home
Grab hold of your heavy chain
Rich people always pullin always trying to restrain
You heard just what I said
They're always pullin ya back when you want to get ahead
They pull you back cause their not wit it
You're talking about school
Their talking about quit it
Soon you'll see that time just fly
Cause you spent most of it out gettin high
Thought about it much, much later
Could've went to school and been much greater
But you chose to lead that fate
Now you're sucking on a bone when it should've been steak
The whole purpose of the story I told
Was mainly to inspire you to reach your goals
Stop walking through life as if you are blind
You should reach for your goal cause i'm reaching for mine
And i'm from

The Bridge (4X)
Queensbridge

Keep on rockin
The bridge
Will keep rockin
If the beat stop rockin
The bridge will keep rockin
If the beat stop rockin
The bridge will keep-a rockin
Till the beat stop rockin
The bridge will keep-a rockin
Till the bridge stop rockin
The kids will keep-a rockin

Ladies and Gentleman

_________________________________________________________________

Description:

- Marley Marl’s older Brother Larry Larr was part of a DJ crew called Hi-Fidelity , along with Jappy Jap, T-Tom and DJ Gas.

They were one of the first Crews to start performing in the Parks in Queensbridge.

Years later, People Under The Stairs would name a song after Jappy Jap, using the “a brother who’s known for his rap” vocal as a hook.

- Crystal Smith aka 'Dimples D' rapped on Marley Marl’s very first production, the 1983 track “Sucker DJ’s”
(an Answer Record to “Sucker MC’s” by Run DMC).

The song wasn’t hugely popular on first release but it does have a legacy thanks to its acapella version. Marley himself used the record in several DJ tracks (such as “Marley Marl Scratch” and “The Man Marley Marl”).

- Roxanne Shante, famous for making the Answer Record “Roxanne’s Revenge” in response to “Roxanne, Roxanne” by UTFO

- Craig-G was another Member of the Juice Crew
