[Verse 1]
She just wants to be beautiful
She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits
She craves attention, she praises an image
She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she don't see the light that's shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it, maybe we have made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away
Cause covergirls don't cry after their face is made
[Chorus]
But there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful
Oh, oh, oh
Oh-oh, oh, oh
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful
[Verse 2]
She has dreams to be an envy, so she's starving
You know, covergirls eat nothing
She says "beauty is pain and there's beauty in everything"
"What's a little bit of hunger?"
"I can go a little while longer," she fades away
She don't see her perfect, she don't understand she's worth it
Or that beauty goes deeper than the surface, oh, oh
So to all the girls that's hurting, let me be your mirror
Help you see a little bit clearer the light that shines within
[Chorus]
There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful
[Bridge]
No better you than the you that you are
No better you than the you that you are
No better life than the life we're living
No better life than the life we're living
No better time for your shine, you're a star
No better time for your shine, you're a star
Oh, you're beautiful, oh, you're beautiful
[Chorus]
And there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful

►Letra:
De los temas románticos para todos ustedes
A ver deme tono ahí, viejo
No, necesito preguntarte si me quieres
Porque se siente
¡Ay, ay, ay!, y esta canción es para ti chiquitita
¡Y somos Los 2, Los 2 de la S!, ¡ajay!
Y puro Lizos Music, viejo, zas
Lizos Films, saludote, plebes
Bésame más, quiero sentir
Cómo se dan el corazón los que se quieren
Y es que me gustas perdidamente
Tú sabes bien los laberintos de mi mente
Y es que me gustas, se ve tan claro
Somos dos locos que están bien enamorados
No necesito preguntarte si me quieres
Porque se siente
Porque se siente
Zas

Lyrics:
From a penthouse view
We'll make love
Drink champagne by candlelight
I'm so glad I'm in your arms
Baby, I am yours tonight
To be with you is all I need
So lock the door and throw away the key
No one will disturb this groove
We could not stop it if we wanted to
It won't stop
It don't stop
Our non-stop secret rendezvous
It won't stop
It don't stop
Our non-stop secret rendezvous
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
Oh, oh, oh
Secret rendezvous
Happiness is when I, I think of you
And when we get together and rendezvous
I'll be on time, you bring the wine
And when we lock the door, you'll be all mine
I want you
Do you want me?
I wanna lock the door
Throw away the key
Ecstasy, yeah
(It won't stop)
No
(It don't stop)
Baby
(Our non-stop secret rendezvous)
(It won't stop, it don't stop)
I just wanna be with you
(Our non-stop secret rendezvous)
It won't stop
It don't stop
Our non-stop secret rendezvous
(Oh-ooh-oh, oh-oh-ooh-oh, oh-oo-oh, secret rendezvous)
I wanna rendezvous by candlelight
I wanna hug and squeeze you through the night
So lock the door, throw away the key
Ecstasy
I can't let no one disturb this groove
I couldn't stop it if I wanted to
It's you for me
And me for you
In a secret rendezvous
(Oh-ooh-oh, oh-oh-ooh-oh, oh-oo-oh, secret rendezvous)
It won't stop
It don't stop
Our non-stop secret rendezvous
It won't stop
It don't stop
Our non-stop secret rendezvous
I wanna rendezvous by candlelight
I wanna hug and squeeze you through the night
So lock the door, throw away the key
Ecstasy
I can't let no one disturb this groove
I couldn't stop it if I wanted to
It's you for me
And me for you
In a secret rendezvous
(Oh-ooh-oh, oh-oh-ooh-oh, oh-oo-oh, secret rendezvous)
It won't stop
It don't stop
Our non-stop secret rendezvous
It won't stop
It don't stop
Our non-stop secret rendezvous

Grammy nominated and gold & platinum selling rapper DaBaby joins Shannon Sharpe at Club Shay Shay to talk music, sports, and everything in between. DaBaby boldly asserts that Lamelo Ball is the best NBA player under 25, ranking him above the likes of Luka Doncic, Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, Victor Wembanyama, and Chet Holmgreen. He stirs the pot by excluding Patrick Mahomes from his list of the top three Black quarterbacks, opting instead for Cam Newton. Then, he asserts his confidence by claiming that his verse on Kanye's "Jail" surpasses Jay-Z's. The episode takes a star-studded turn as DaBaby recounts meeting Beyoncé at a Diddy party. On a personal note, DaBaby declares his intention to keep his dating life private, vowing never to go public with who he's with again. He also opens up about the support he received from influential hip hop figures like 50 Cent and Kanye West after his public incident, shedding light on the contrasting approaches to handling scrutiny from the two rap icons. This episode offers a fascinating blend of sports opinions, music insights, and personal revelations, making it a must-listen for fans of DaBaby and those curious about the intersections of sports and entertainment.

LYRICS
I got caught between boredom and anger
A hammer came to the party to blind
All of my confidence
It had a warrant
Knocked on the door
And split open my mind
(What are we doing?
Who are these people?
How did we let them get a
Word in edgewise?
I’m not looking for forgiving ties
I’m just looking for a way to survive
I and I
I’m not looking for forgiving ties
I’m just looking for a way to survive
I and I
For me, for you
And then for them, too
I got stuck in a state of reluctance
My hand was bitten by the mouth that it fed
I tried to slip back into the bathroom
A thought approached me
As my fingers bled
(Who are these people?
How do they see me?
Would they get up if I
Let them down now?
If they survive every buried disorder
And come to terms with a life on the ledge
I could be kind to myself in the mortar
And take a moment with the hammer again
(Who are you fooling?
You’re just a turnstile
I know the way
And I can see myself down the line)

Britny Fox would be one of the last glam metal groups to emerge out of the scene before it all came crasing down in the 90’s. The band, which hailed from the east coast music scene was made up of half ofCinderella’s original lineup. Last week I did a video on the band Cinderella. I had a number of people in that video and on the request form saying i should do britny fox next. So without further adieu lets do the band Britny Fox.
Brittany Foxx’s origins date back to the east coast music scene - more specifically New Jersey and philadelphia and it begins with guitarist Michael Kelly Smith who was from Reading, Pennsylvania. He would to move to Philadelphia to be closer to the local music scene. One of his first bands he would play in would be called Telepath & they played covers. They would lose their second guitar player and auditioned some people including future Cinderella member Tom Keifer. While a few members of Telepath preferred someone else, Smith was adamant that Keifer was the guy and he got the gig. Smith and Keifer soon became best friends and played in several cover bands together, before forming Cinderella. Prior to naming themselves Cinderella they had floated the idea of using the monicker Creep Show. Cinderella were one of the first bands at the time to do original songs on the east coast since playing covers was super lucrative at the time. The pair soon hooked up with drummer Tony Destra and bassist Eric Brittingham.
The quartet recorded a demo and had their manager shop it around to different record labels. The problem was, virtually every label turned them down claiming they sounded too much like AC/DC and Aerosmith. Smith however, at one point had nearly auditioned for Kiss and still had Gene Simmon’s number. Simmons took a liking to Cinderella and tried to land them a deal with Polygram records. But Gene wanted to sign them to a deal whereby he would write their songs and by the members of Cinderella’s own admission, Simmon’s songs weren’t very good so things didn’t work out at the time
It would be Jon Bon Jovi who was in town in Somerdale (Somerdale), New Jersey working on the band’s second album 7800 degree fahrenheit and he saw Cinderella perform at the galaxy club, a place where the band had a regular residency. Jon loved the band and notified derek schulman of polygram records
Shulman who had previously passed on the band after hearing a demo they cut. But at the insistence of jon he asked schulman to go check the band’s live show out. Schulman still wasn’t sold on the band, but he recognized Keifer and Brittingham’s talent. He would tell Cinderella’s manager a guy named Larry Mazer that he would sign the band to a development deal worth $30K if they got rid of their guitarist and drummer - Michael Kelly Smith and Tony Destra. Keiffer was actually having disagreements with both Smith and Destra over musical ideas, so they were fired from the band. Cinderella would go on to have a good deal of success with their first album 1986’s night songs selling over 3 million copies, making it the biggest debut record since boston’s ten years prior.
Smith was perplexed at the decision telling vwmusicrocks At that point, with MTV and the image and the songs, it didn’t matter if you had a great drummer or an adequate drummer. Same with [guitarist] Jeff LaBar

But even some of the female artists who’d later become part of Lilith Fair would have to be convinced of its value. What’s funny is that Lilith Fair was not the first women’s music festival as the folky Michigan Womyn’s Festival — had already been going on for 2 decades, until it called it a day in 2015. Sheryl Crow would tell vanity fair in 2019
I remember talking to my agent about touring with another female, and the response was, “You don’t want to do that because it won’t sell tickets.”. But by the 90’s things had changed from a decade prior and either managers or record labels weren’t paying as close of attention as they should have. According to the LA Times women for the first time became the biggest purchasers of music--going from 43% in 1988 to 51.4% by 1997.
The full-fledged version of Lilith Fair kicked off in 1997 with 30 plus stops across North America with 60 plus artists. Regarding the name, it came from a biblical character, Adam’s wife who refused his orders to leave Eden. McLaughlin produced the festival in conjunction with Nettwerk Music Group's Dan Fraser and Terry McBride, and New York talent agent Marty Diamond.
It helped that Sarah had a huge album that year as well - 1997’s grammy award winning Surfacing - which featured the popular songs like “Angel” about the overdose of the Smashing Pumpkins touring keyboardist Jonathan Melvoin and “building a mystery.”
The album sold 16 million copies worldwide and offered the perfect publicity to help bring some buzz to her new festival The 1997 incarnation of Lilith Phair was the top grossing touring festival of the year, outpacing lollapalooza. By the end of the decade it became the top grossing festival of the late 1990s.
Over the three years of the festival, there’d be 135 shows in cities mostly in the U.S. but along with a few dates in Canada as well. Featuring well known acts like Jewel, Sheryl Crowd, Liz Phair, Fiona Apple Paula Cole, Lisa Loeb, Jewel and Sheryl Crow.
The festival featured 3 stages - the Main Stage, Second Stage and Village Stage. The Village stage was for up and coming talent. Two artists that broke out in part thanks to their features on the Village Stage were Dido and Christina Aguilera.
Yet, even with all that commercial and artistic success, or maybe because of it, the festival came under harsh scrutiny, even from other female artists.
In a 1997 interview with Rolling Stone, Shirley Manson from Garbage criticized the tour saying:
“I think they only showed one side of who women are — it was this cozy, middle-class, we-all-love-each-other and share-a-view-of-the-world and let's-hold-hands-and-go-forth-unto-the-world and show-how-great-we-are thing. And there's a million other women who don't feel that Lilith said anything for them. That said, Lilith is important because there are women who really do need fellowship and support. Because not everyone is like me — a loudmouthed f--ker.”
In addition, the tour was attacked by music critics, the Christian right and other feminists. In the Dallas observer, critic Gina Arnold wrote “It is, in short, a total crock of sh*t.” The LA Times would highlight some other criticisms the festival dealt with including being called “Girlapalooza” . . . “Lesbopalooza” . . .
Critics of the tour called it exclusionary to men however the road crew and backup musicians were men in some cases.
The final Lilith fair in 1999 saw, Prince, who was going as “The Artist” as the time, also joined the festival for one show, performing “Everyday is a Winding Road” with Sheryl Crow. In interviews, Sarah McL often questioned why people assumed that celebrating women meant denigrating men by default. Lilith--attendees were made up of 30% men. Critics also lambasted the festival for not being diverse enough when it came to the artists on the bill, at least for the first year of the festival.
In response to these critiques and especially out of the fear that Lilith Fair would come off as simply a folk festival, festival producers who were flush with cash, greatly expanded the tiypes of artists and genres that were included in the 1998 edition including hip hop, most notably featuring missy elliott. The organizers also bumped up the number of shows from 37 to 57.

Born in a suburb of Buffalo, New York, Kristen Pfaff would go to catholic school where she learned cello and piano at a young age. Her parents would divorce when she was young, but her mother would remarry and she would have a younger half brother. School mates of Pfaff who attended the same catholic school as her described her to the buffalo news as and i quote “bright, happy, always peppy," Not only that but she excelled in school achieving good grades and getting scholarships.
She would attend Boston College and do an exchange program in the Netherlands. It was ffter from returning overseas she would study English and literature at the university of Minnesota starting in 1988. It was while she was a student at the University of Minnesota, she was an important figure in the development of the University radio station called Radio K. There’s even a clip of her on YouTube hosting a show if you guys are interested.
Her father would tell the buffalo news "That's when Kristen's life really changed. She learned to play bass and wanted to be in a band."
She soon quit school and took up bass and started playing in a 3 piece called Janitor Joe that was part of the Minneapolis music scene.
Janitor Joe played angst ridden and loud music and that caught the attention of local indie label AmRep who signed the band and put out their debut record Big Metal Birds in 1992. It was while on tour with Janitor Joe that Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson attended one of their gigs. At this point in time Hole was without a bassist and needed one for their upcoming European Tour in 1993. Erlandson would tell Spin Magazine “I found Kristen in L.A. and said, “Come with me to meet Courtney [Love] and Patty [Schemel] when you get to Seattle.” She joined the band, she moved to Seattle, and that’s when all the songs came to life, literally. She was the star of her band and so she was bringing that to Hole and that created sparks in everybody; we all saw an even greater potential than before. Patty Schemel (pronounced at 0:20 mark here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTdVsAnNLyg) would add to Spin “Her playing was heavy, and she was knowledgeable, and she had command of her instrument. When she played, that was it: We knew.”
It was during that European tour that the band debuted material that was going to make their next record and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Sean Slade who worked on Hole’s second record Live Through This as an engineer and producer would recall to spin how once he heard the demos from the band he noticed that with the addition of Pfaff the band sounded more musical. The band would travel to Atlanta in October of 1993 to record the album.
Jim Merlis, a rep from Geffen Records, the band’s label would tell the buffalo news “"Kristen was really excited about making a record with Hole. She was so enthusiastic. She couldn't wait to start touring."
It was during the recording sessions for live through this that Erlandson and Pfaff were involved in a romantic relationship. In the book It was also speculated that peer pressure from her bandmates and friends in seattle led her to start using heroin.
Schemel would tell Spin: Kristen became Eric’s girlfriend, so they were tight. … Then there was me and my addiction with alcohol and drugs. Kristen and I would get together, and we were always trying to keep the amount of drugs we were doing secret. “Don’t tell Eric.” There were so many secrets. We were all frustrated, and we all had a lot of downtime. And so to deal with that, there was a lot of “hanging out.” I was frustrated. I wanted to play. I wanted to record. Erlandson would add in the same interview that during the making of the album he and Pfafff had broken up and there was noticable tension while recording the album
But it wasn’t just Erlandson and Pfaff who had tension between them as the bassist started to butt heads with frontwoman Courtney Love. Pfaff while new to the band was outspoken about musical ideas and that apparently rubbed Courtney Love the wrong way. Another factor contributing to Love’s resentment towards Pfaff at least according to the book Love and Death the murder of Kurt Cobain, was that the bassist had

You can’t really talk about the band Journey without mentioning frontman Steve Perry. He led the band to massive success in the 80’s, then quit, and then returned in the 90’s until finally saying goodbye to the band and becoming a recluse for almost 2 decades So what happened when he returned to the band and why did he leave again? That’s what we’re going to explore in today’s video.
Journey was massive in the 80’s. They seemed to release an album almost every year, had numerous hit singles, and even had their own video game released, which was a pretty big feat back then considering this was decades before guitar hero released standalone band games. That’s not to say the game was very good, in fact it wasn’t. I’ve done a video on that video game, the link is down below.
Perry would lead Journey during the group’s most commercially successful periods from 1977 to 1987, and again from 1995 to 1998. In between his stints with the band he also launched a successful solo career, but also became reclusive for almost 2 decades before finally returning to music just a few years ago.
Steve Perry was the son of Portguese parents in California and his dad being a vocalist and cowner of a radio station KNGS. Following his parents ending their relationship, he grew up on his grandparents farm with his mother. The defining moment for his life would be at age 12 when he heard the Sam Cooke song “cupid” and it was that moment that inspired him to begin a career in music.
In his early 20’s Perry moved around California playing in different bands. The moment that really changed his life was when he received a phone call from Journey’s manager who had been given a tape of one of Perry’s previous bands and was impressed with the singer’s voice. Journey at this point in time was more progressive in their sound and was fronted by Robert Fleishman. Fleishman didn’t prove to be a good fit for the band and didn’t get along with the group’s manager. The bands manager Herbie Herbert thought that he was cocky and believed Perry would be a great replacement. That’s not to say Fleishman wasn’t important to to the band , in fact he co-wrote one of the band biggest hits “Wheel in the Sky”
Surprisingly Perry would tour with the band while Fleishman was still fronting the band, but to avoid arousing any suspicion Fleishman was told he was a roadie’s portugese cousin. Then during a sound check ahead of a gig in Long Beach, California, Perry sang with the band on stage while Fleishcman was off stage. Fleischman was informed shortly afterwards that Perry was the new singer and he was out of the band.
Perry brought a much more pop influenced sound to the group and the addition of the singer alienated the group’s long time fans of their progressive sound. Not that it really mattered though considering Perry appeared to be the missing piece to the band needed to reach a new level of success. Following the addition of Perry, the band would go on to dominate the 80’s rock scene with hit album after hit album. After the group’s 1983 album Frontiers they would some time offer before
reassembling in 1985 to work on their follow up record Raised on Radio. It was during the sessions the wheels came off as Perry’s mother had fallen ill, making the singer unavailable for large periods of time as he was attending to his ill parent. His mother would pass away during this time and the band would manage to finish the album and Raised on Radio would be the group’s final record with Perry for the decade. Further adding to Perry’s emotional state was that him and his girlfriend had broken up. Journey toured to support the album, but by the partway through the promotional tour Perry told the band he was done as he was mentally exhausted from the whole ordeal and the band disbanded in 1987. Perry would barely be on speaking terms with his bandmates.
Following his departure from the group Perry in 1988 began recording his second solo album Against the Wall, which would be temporarily shelved. According to Perry he didn’t have the passion to continue to work on new music at the time and between 1988 and 1994 he largely kept out of the spotlight for the most part making one off appearances

Lyrics:
California rescue me
I’ve been so low
I’ve been weak
And too long since I’ve had peace
Well California, California rescue me
In a meditative state
Feeling great in the south of it
Medicated weight
Think I need another ounce of it
Child of the sun and the sun of the sea
Salt water when I bleed
See eras when I dream
What a day, what a day, what a day now
Living like a weekend in the middle of the wave out
What you say, what you say, what you say now
Never gonna leave her down
California rescue me
I’ve been so low
I’ve been weak
And too long since I’ve had peace
Well California, California rescue me
Rescue me
Rescue me
California, California rescue me
I’m trippin’
California sun drippin’
Palm trees on the weekend
Suicides on the Lincoln
Got the Cali Cali all day
Smoke that Cali Cali bombay
Close my eyes, I rest in the shade
Follow me and come feel the fade yeah
What a day, what a day, what a day now
Living like a weekend in the middle of the wave out
What you say, what you say, what you say now
Never gonna leave her down
California rescue me
I’ve been so low
I’ve been weak
And too long since I’ve had peace
Well California, California rescue me
Rescue me
Rescue me
California, California rescue me
This meditative state got me feeling right
California dreamin’ on a winter’s night
Everywhere I look all the leaves are brown
All the skies are grey, try to bring me down
This meditative state got me feeling high
All the clouds are partin’ only blue skies
Always catching vibes from my hometown
As long as I’m alive, can’t bring me down
California rescue me
I’ve been so low
I’ve been weak
And too long since I’ve had peace
Well California, California rescue me
Rescue me
Rescue me
California, California rescue me

Lyrics:
Fell in love with a girl
I fell in love once and almost completely
She's in love with the world
But sometimes, these feelings can be so misleading
She turns and says, "Are you alright?"
I said, "I must be fine 'cause my heart's still beating."
"Come and kiss me by the riverside, yeah
Bobby says it's fine, he don't consider it cheating, now."
Red hair with a curl
Mello-Roll for the flavor, and the eyes were peeping
Can't keep away from the girl
These two sides of my brain need to have a meeting
Can't think of anything to do, yeah
My left brain knows that all love is fleeting
She's just looking for something new, yeah
I said it once before, but it bears repeating now
Ah, ah
Ah, ah
Ah, ah
Ah, ah
Can't think of anything to do, yeah
My left brain knows that all love is fleeting
She's just looking for something new
Well, I said it once before, but it bears repeating now
