Djo - Figure You Out Hotney 4 Vues • 3 années depuis

“Figure You Out" is the 12th track off Djo's album "DECIDE" out now!

FIGURE YOU OUT LYRICS:

I’m beginning to understand
There’s no mystery to this man
It's the simplest things I need
Just my friends and a place to sleep
But I never fail to surprise
There’s a feeling that’s new to me
Unmistakably that’s my voice
And its speaking as clear as day

“I’ve been trying to figure you out”
“I’ve been trying to figure you out”
“I’ve been trying to figure you out”

“I’ve been trying to figure you out”

“I’ve been trying to figure you…out”

Is the memory really mine?
Is the story I told just fake?
How can you get to know yourself?
Take a test and you get a grade
If the money just wasn’t there
And the power had was gone
And these people were just like you
Tell me then would you lend a hand?

(I’ve been trying to figure you out)
Tell me then would you lend a hand
(I’ve been trying to figure you…out)
It's not easy when you’re closing down
Down, down

Tell me then would you lend a hand
Something’s in my mind and I’m focused on you, yeah
Something’s in my mind and I’m focused on you, yeah
Something’s in my mind and I’m focused on you, yeah
Something’s in my mind and I’m focused on you, yeah
Something’s in my mind and I’m focused on you, yeah (I want your to feel me now)
Something’s in my mind and I’m focused on you, yeah
Something’s in my mind and I’m focused on you, yeah
Something’s in my mind and I’m focused on you, yeah (I’m trying)
Something’s in my mind and I’m focused on you, yeah
Something’s in my mind and I’m focused on you, yeah

Bob Marley - Positive Vibration (1976)• TopPop Hotney 4 Vues • 3 années depuis

Bob Marley and the Wailers were in the Netherlands during his "Rastaman Vibrations" tour for his first Dutch concert in the Jaap Edenhal in Amsterdam on June 13, 1976, the first of the five concerts Marley ever gave in the Netherlands. During this concert 'Roots, Rock, Reggae' was the last song on the set and 'Positive Vibration' was the first encore. The concert ended with 'Get Up Stand Up / War / No More Trouble'.

This exclusive Toppop video was recorded in a studio in Nederhorst den Berg near Hilversum in June 1976.
Fortunately, the Toppop recordings have been preserved. They have been used by director Kevin Macdonald for his famous and acclaimed documentary about Bob Marley, entitled 'Marley' from 2012.
The recording is, as most Toppop video's, a lip-synch recording.

Thanks to our viewer Javier Ochoa, this is the line-up in the video:
Bob Marley, vocal, rhythm guitar
Carlton Barrett, drums
Aston Barrett, bass
Earl "Chinna" Smith, lead guitar
Donald Kinsey, lead guitar
Tyrone Downie, keyboards
Alvin Patterson, percussion
The I-Threes: Rita Marley, Judy Mowatt and Marcia Griffiths, backing vocals

BIO:
Chris Ballinger aka Hybrid the rapper (Chris Hybrid)
I first started doing music in the mid to late 90’s in my hometown of Frankfort, Ky, mainly stealing other rappers B side instrumentals and rapping over them through a boombox and karaoke machine alongside of my crew of friends. Soon it developed into making my own beats and learning how to engineer/record. The longing to do so came from being such a diehard fan of Hip Hop in it’s golden era. I formed a rap group (Basement Upstairs) with several of my friends, rigged together a makeshift studio and started my own independent label (Dubtape Records) . From grassroots promoting, hosting and booking events & shows, cutting albums, collaborating with singers, producers, rappers and musicians, freestyling at parties, rap battles, creating music videos, learning equipment to starting more projects (Embercast, Juxtapoze) and dabbling in experimental types of rap/rock and other types of music the next 20 years I submerged myself into the world of being an independent artist. Leaving no facet untouched or unexplored.

Now years later, I have an immense catalog in my archives of over 50 albums, including my solo music and collaborative efforts. I can honestly say the experience has been an awesome adventure. Not only doing it but breaking out of the box and my own shell and being more than just another rapper. I coined the name “Hybrid” years ago because I felt that my taste in music was a blend of influence and genre so naturally my art became that as well. A mixture of tones, emotions, styles, fashion, singing, rapping, poetry, audio/visual, ups and downs, love and pain, etc. I fell throughout my career I played different roles, characters and archetypes but yet were always somehow still just me, that same old scrawny teenager that fell in love with making music years ago.
