After the untimely death of Prodigy, DJ Vlad sits down with his longtime friend and the other half of Mobb Deep, Havoc. Havoc details what it was like growing up in Queensbridge, their first rap names, and reveals Prodigy turned down a deal to work with him at first. The producer then goes on to talk about making their first album, Prodigy teaching him how to sample and them getting a deal at LOUD records.

Throughout the conversation Havoc discusses some of the milestones in their career from the 'Hennesy' shirts, creating "Shook Ones," dissing 2Pac before his death, their beef with Jay-Z, and what it was like seeing Lil Kim write her "Quiet Storm" verse. Hav also speaks on the rumor of P choking on an egg and the cause of his death before looking back on the legacy that they left in hip hop.

The most underrated rapper of all time. Az has heard that more than a few times. He never let that get to him though, as he preaches “quiet money is the best money” In 1995 the name AZ wasn’t so quiet. It’s the year he dropped a classic album on his first try and had the entire east coast hailing him as next to blow from the New York area. It was called “Doe or Die”, which if you haven’t heard is truly one of the best hip hop/rap albums you’ll ever hear. Fast forward to 2021 and when the name AZ is mentioned in more than enough circles, a standout track can’t be recalled. A standout moment feels non existent. Some may even say “who” is he like a copy of Jay z or something? As crazy as it sounds some in 1995 saw AZ actually becoming the next great Brooklyn rapper over Jay-z. Of course in 1996 history rewrote itself. He’s had a gentleman of a rap career, but it still feels he could’ve done better. Here are a few reasons that didn’t happen. This week, Don Diablo joined us for our most ambitious live broadcast project to date. In partnership with Miller Genuine Draft, we created a floating DJ booth aboard a 27 metre motor cruiser boat (provided by our friends at Boats Ibiza) for a 90 minute sunset in front of the iconic Es Vedra.

The diverse, eclectic set from Don Diablo – across 90 sun-drenched minutes – captures a DJ at the peak of his talents.

Don Diablo is currently flying high. His biggest single to date ‘Survive’, featuring UK singer/songwriter Emeli Sandé, and American rap superstar Gucci Mane has dropped. It's a record that the future house pioneer is incredibly proud of:

“It’s just one of those records that needed to be absolutely perfect, from start to finish,“ Don told us. “I wanted to it to stand out and combine three worlds into one. A Dutch music producer, an incredible British singer songwriter, and one of the biggest US rappers of today. I am more than proud of the final outcome and hope the music and the message of the song will motivate people to dream big and see beyond the clouds of their personal challenges.”

Dreaming big is something that comes naturally to the Dutch star. He has just sold out his biggest solo show to date - at the Future XL in Amsterdam – and his Hexagon label and clothing brand transcends dance music all together.
