The album received generally mixed reviews from music critics. However, the album achieved considerable commercial success. In Between Dreams has sold over 15 million copies worldwide.

The album cover depicts a mango tree, referring to the Mango Tree, the studio where In Between Dreams was recorded. There is also a reference to the mango tree in "Better Together".

Teddy Pendergrass would have turned 70 years old on March 26. Its time to celebrate with this mega rare concert from September 1979 that has never been released on DVD.

Theodore DeReese "Teddy" Pendergrass (March 26, 1950 – January 13, 2010) was an American singer. Born in Kingstree South Carolina he was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he initially rose to musical fame as the lead singer of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes. After leaving the group over monetary disputes in 1976, Pendergrass launched a successful solo career under the Philadelphia International label, releasing five consecutive platinum albums, then a record for an African-American R&B artist. Pendergrass's career was suspended after a March 1982 car crash that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Pendergrass continued his successful solo career until announcing his retirement in 2007. Pendergrass died from respiratory failure in January 2010. - wikipedia

The Three Degrees is an American female vocal group, which was originally formed in 1965 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The original members were Fayette Pinkney, Shirley Porter and Linda Turner. Porter and Turner were soon replaced by Janet Harmon and Helen Scott. The line-up from 1967 to 1976 was Pinkney, Valerie Holiday and Sheila Ferguson, who would go on to sing lead on most of the group's biggest hits.

This exclusive live performance was recorded at the Grand Gala du Disque, recored by AVRO TV in the Netherlands in the RAI Hall, Amsterdam, broadcast on 15 February 1974
