LYRICS:
I’m doing fine you hear me?
I’ve been going to the gym
Breathing hard when I swim
I’ve been folding the laundry
And playing with the kids in the morning
I’m fine! I’m doing swell tonight!
I drank all the vodka before yoga
Then slept through the kriya
Woke for the prayer
Now I’m on fire, I’ll write
This raving song of the night
Don’t care if the truth becomes lies
I just want the excitement of vice
To escape from what’s missing inside me
Oh brother I’m not dead

How am I living when one that I loved left before me?
How am I warm when I can’t feel the sun like I once did?
I look back but the loss that feel is all blinding
Ever been searching so hard for something you cannot find it?
There’s nothing left to do but let the band kick in!

So give me hail for the pain
Give me them dents on the roof of my brain
I took all the pride I could take, I’m high on the shame
Just painting this night to exceed what’s around it
And I, I’m high on this ride
Let me forget my name, my body and all that defines it
And dive in the currents that drown and revive me
Oh brother I’m not dead

How am I living when one that I loved left before me?
How am I warm when I can’t feel the sun like I once did?
I look back but the loss that feel is all blinding
Ever been searching so hard for something you cannot find it?
There’s nothing left to do but let the band kick in!

Where are you!?
Where are you!?

Am I a ghost in my life? Just hiding in plain sight
Of all those I need and who need me? Oh, please don’t remind that
Brother I’m not dead

How am I living when one that I loved left before me?
How am I warm when I can’t feel the sun like I once did?
I look back but the loss that feel is all blinding
Ever been searching so hard for something you cannot find it?
There’s nothing left to do but let the band kick in!

Benzino Fires Back: His Legacy, Diddy And JAy-Z ,Eminem Beef, and the State of Battle Rap | Part 2 Hotney 12 Ansichten • 2 Jahre vor

In this episode, we go deep with Benzino as he unpacks everything from his rise with The Source magazine to his infamous feud with Eminem. Kicking off with his journey into simpler living (00:00:08), Benzino shares the hard-earned lessons he’s gathered from a life spent in the spotlight. As we shift gears, he clears up lingering Eminem rumors and weighs in on hip-hop’s biggest icons—Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake—while dissecting the ups and downs of hip-hop’s most cutthroat rivalries (02:10).

Benzino also opens up about the gritty business side of hip-hop, the birth of The Source magazine, and how he and Dave Mays took it from a local zine to a national powerhouse (05:51). We touch on his views on SMACK battle rap, which he sees as losing its authenticity, and why the essence of true battle rap culture still matters (20:40). Later, he reflects on Tupac’s impact, Kendrick’s influence, and his perspective on hip-hop’s evolution from the streets to mainstream industry (38:29).

From behind-the-scenes insights on The Source’s “Five Mic” rating controversies (43:57) to the impact of gang culture in rap and how artists navigate public perception, Benzino offers unfiltered opinions on the state of hip-hop, loyalty, and how the digital age has changed the game.

LYRICS:
She cut me loose and caught herself a somewhere wind
I haven’t heard a word and haven’t seen her since
She disappeared quicker than this double shot of Jim
‘Cause everybody at the bar started askin’
“How’s your girl?”
She ain’t my girl
“Where she been?”
I ain’t quite sure
Good question, no tellin’, but I’m bettin’

She’s probably in Texas
Amarillo all I know
George Strait said it
Yeah that’s where all them exes go
If she ain’t with me out here in Tennessee
Then I don’t know where she’s headed
If I’m guessin’, I reckon
She’s probably in Texas
She’s probably in Texas

She might be down in Georgia at her mama’s for the week
Could be Carolina, California, somethin’s tellin’ me
She’s somewhere in the Lone Star state with all the rest
Yeah that one King song knows best

She’s probably in Texas
Amarillo all I know
George Strait said it
Yeah that’s where all them exes go
If she ain’t with me out here in Tennessee
Then I don’t know where she’s headed
If I’m guessin’, I reckon
She’s probably in Texas
She’s probably in Texas

“How’s your girl?”
She ain’t my girl
“Where she been?”
I ain’t quite sure
Good question, no tellin’, but I’m bettin’

She’s probably in Texas
Amarillo all I know
George Strait said it
Yeah that’s where all them exes go
If she ain’t with me out here in Tennessee
Then I don’t know where she’s headed
If I’m guessin’, I reckon
She’s probably in Texas
She’s probably in Texas
She’s probably in Texas
She’s probably in Texas

Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker - Fight of Our Lives (Live Performance) | Vevo Hotney 12 Ansichten • 2 Jahre vor

Kylie Cantrall & Malia Baker - Fight of Our Lives. An exclusive live performance for Vevo.

Descendants: The Rise of Red, a Disney Original Movie is now available on Disney+

It's no big news that Disney's ever-evolving Descendants franchise has clocked a wealth of superb songs since its inception, and it's no big news that the artists/actors who brought these tunes to the screen have helped sell them to an audience who adores them. When performed charismatically, superb pop will always triumph. 'Descendants: The Rise of Red,' a Disney Original Movie currently available on Disney Plus, continues this parade of great songs, and "Red," by Kylie Cantrall and Alex Boniello is its latest home run. It's no wonder Cantrall can tickle her fans. She's a young pro who starred in 'Gabby Duran & the Unsittables,' and played Dani in 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.' And of course she wowed everyone playing the role of Red in the Descendants franchise. We invited her and her pals into our L.A. studio for romp through its soundtrack. Malia Baker is quite the song partner, and the fun they’re having during “Fight of Our Lives” radiates through the screen.

In this video, we delve into the fascinating story of Peter, Paul and Mary, one of the most influential folk groups of the 1960s. From their meteoric rise to fame with hits like "Blowin' in the Wind" and "If I Had a Hammer," to their breakup in 1970 and eventual reunion, we explore the ups and downs of this iconic trio.

We trace their journey from Greenwich Village coffeehouses to the March on Washington, where they performed alongside Martin Luther King Jr. The video examines how their music became the soundtrack for social change during the civil rights movement and Vietnam War protests.

But success came with its own challenges. We look at the personal and professional pressures that led to their breakup in 1970, including creative differences and the toll of their activist lifestyle. The aftermath of their split is explored, touching on their solo careers and the controversies that followed, particularly Peter Yarrow's legal troubles.

The story doesn't end there, however. We cover their reunion in the late 1970s and their continued impact on music and social causes up until Mary Travers' passing in 2009. The video also touches on the legacy of Peter, Paul and Mary and how their influence continues to be felt in music and activism today.

Through interviews, archival footage, and expert commentary, this video offers a comprehensive look at one of America's most beloved folk groups. It's a story of music, activism, personal growth, and the enduring power of harmony – both musical and social.
