Lyrics:
Coffee, tea or me baby, touche ole
My opening line might be a bit passe
But don't think that I don't know what I'm feeling for you
'Cause I got a vibe on you
The first time that I saw you, saw you
I need your love, and I won't bring no pain
A little birdie told me that you feel the same game
I'm for the real, and for you I'm true blue
Let's make a deal, sugar
All I want to do is be your one and only lover
I just want to be your lovergirl
I just want to rock your world

#rhcp #superbowl #halftimeshow
I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.
In 2013 the NFL would announce that Bruno Mars would perform at the following year’s super bowl. The last real rock act to perform at the super bowl was in 2010 when the Who performed. 2005 to 2010 was a great time for rock fans when it came to the super bowl. Following the whole nipple gate fiasco of 2004 involving justin timberlake and janet jackson the NFL wanted to play it safe and for six years featured some great acts including Paul Mcccartney, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and of course The Who.
From 2010 to 2013 we had the usual pop artists most rock fans could care less about. Shortly before the 2014 halftime show Mars would announce he’d be joiend by special guests Red Hot Chili Peppers. The halftime show would be scene by 115 million people, the biggest audience in superbowl history at the time.
Not everything went smooth during the planning stages as Mars and the NFL butted heads. The NFL wanted to have the audience members wear light up bracelets to which Mars responded
Telling rolling stone "If you take that camera off me, you're doing yourself a disservice. And what happened? They spent all this money on these things, and it didn't work. Mars became the youngest performer to headline the halftime show being 28 at the time. While Mars performance garnered rave reviews, the same couldn’t be said for the Chili Peppers. While Mars would perform a medley of his hits in addition to opening the show with a drum solo honoring his late mother the Chili Peppers joined him onstage for the second last number performing their 1991 hit Give It Away. Mars' would receive much praise for his performance, but critics were less positive about the Chili Peppers. Entertainment Weekly criticized the Red Hot Chili Peppers' appearance calling it “random and unnecessary” Buzzfeed echoed a similar sentiment with the LA Times Wood calling the Chili Peppers performance ‘stale’
It wasn’t just the critics who criticized the chili peppers as other musicians soon chimed including Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid who pointed out that guitarist Josh Klinghoffer and bassist Flea’s instruments weren’t plugged in. Some accused the band of faking their live performance. A few days later Flea would issue a statement on their performance a few days later stating
“When we were asked by the NFL and Bruno to play our song Give It Away at the Super Bowl, it was made clear to us that the vocals would be live, but the bass, drums, and guitar would be pre-recorded.
GALLERY
GALLERY“I understand the NFL’s stance on this, given they only have a few minutes to set up the stage, there a zillion things that could go wrong and ruin the sound for the folks watching in the stadium and the t.v. viewers. There was not any room for argument on this, the NFL does not want to risk their show being botched by bad sound, period,”
Drummer chad smit hmeanwhile took to twitter to write FYI.... Every band in the last 10 years at the Super Bowl has performed to a previously recorded track. It's the NFL's policy. Period."[28]
That wasn’t the only complaint about the chili peppers controversy as deadspin reported that the US Federal Communications commission received 53 complaints about the performance mostly about flea and anthony keidis performing shirtless worried about what children might think. One person contacted teh FCC complaining about a double standard about men being able to go topless but not woman.
Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose published a letter to offer his own humorous take I enjoyed the show and I've no idea what the real story is nor would I want to suggest or imply anyone wasn't actually performing or that what they were playing wasn't what we actually heard. That said I feel it's important to always look on the positive side of things and to give the benefit of doubt.
So consider that maybe sometime before their actual performance that rather than use a guitar cord or standard wireless, that in the name of science and for all mankind Flea courageously had a newly invented breakthrough in microchip technology installed in his ass that picked up the frequencies of his bass and transmitted them to his amplifier.

All night I’ve been drinkin’ all night
I’ve been drinkin’ all night I’ve been drinkin’ ayy yeah
All night I’ve been drinkin’ all night
I’ve been drinkin’ all night I’ve been drinkin’ all night ayy yeah
Woke up in somebody’s kitchen twenty missed calls
1 percent phone on red, how am I getting home?
Double vision room is spinning, clothes all over the floor
But I ain’t tripping cause I’m just living and every night I want more
Flashback to the deep chats with a stranger
Toasting for no reason, celebration
One night turns into a whole situation
But I would do it all again, no regrets no
All night I’ve been drinkin’ all night
I’ve been drinkin’ all night, I’ve been drinkin’ ayy yeah
All night I’ve been drinkin’ all night
I’ve been drinkin’ all night ayy yeah
All night I’ve been drinkin’ all night
I’ve been drinkin’ all night, I’ve been drinkin’ ayy yeah
Last night was a movie, I’m playing it back
Looking through my camera roll like who the hell is that
I don’t wanna know what I’ve been spending
I don’t wanna know who I’ve been texting
Flashback to the deep chats with a stranger
Toasting for no reason, celebration
One night turns into a whole situation
But I would do it all again, no regrets no

#pearljam #Jeremy #eddievedder
I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.
Grunge would dominate the music scene in the early 90’s and one of the band’s who was a frequent presence on MTV and on rock radio was Pearl Jam. Perhaps no video is more popular for Pearl Jam than Jeremy from their debut album Ten. Despite the song’s dark subject matter and controversial video, it received heavy rotation on MTV, is still frequently played on rock radio where I live and is the band’s most viewed video on YouTube. But whatever happened to the kid who starred in the video, well fame proved to be difficult to deal with and he would find a different path in life, His life would be cut short due to a tragic accident. That’s whjat were going to explore in today’s video
To celebrate the video’s 25th anniversary, Billboard Magazine would write a very indepth article on Trevor Wilson, the young actor who portray’s Jeremy in the music video. The publication would interview Mark Pellington who directed the video for Pearl Jam and Wilson’s parents who discuss a man who felt the same way about fame as the members of Pearl Jam did.
The video lyrics for Jeremy would be inspired by a real life event that happened at a Dallas school in 1991 when a boy who was bullied by his kids at school ended his life in front of his classmates. Director Mark Pellington would tell Billboard that Wilson was sick when he sent in his audition tape, but despite this he clinched the audition the second he walked in recalling "He was sick on his tape, and he didn’t play it like, 'Oh, I’m all angsty,'". "He was sitting there and I was looking at [his audition tape], and he was kind of dazed and numb and f--ked up. I found out later that he was sick. But he was so expressive, in a non-histrionic way." WIlson’s mother Diane would point to the fact that her son suffered from Asthma, something that may have influenced how he acted and looked the day of the audition. she would tell billboard that had she been at the audition chances are she wouldn’t have let her son go because she wasn’t a fan of firearms. Ironically MTV rejected the first cut of the video because they didn’t want any firearms shown in the video, much to the shagrin of the video’s director and the band.
Wilson’s mother Diane worked with people in show business while living in new york. His mother was a chef to well known celebrities including director Ridley Scott, talk show host phil donahue and actress michelle pfeifffer. Wilson would attend the Rudolf Steiner Waldorf School in Manhattan while spending his weekends at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. It would be the 1986 film Stand By Me that got Wilson interested in acting and one of Diane’s clients who saw potential in her son and suggested he try acting classes.
Wilson’s father accompanied his son to the audition after reading about it in the backpages of Billboard magazine. His son had already done a few auditions for other projects, but that was it. While he was waiting for his son to be called he overheard someone say and i quote “He has to have a good scream,” so he pinched his son’s leg until he let out a big scream and went over the lyrics of the song with him to help him better understand the character. Wilson got the audition beating out 200 other applicants. The original plan was not to feature Pearl Jam at all in the video, but Pellington decided against that after spending several days shooting the band in London.
After the video shoot wrapped up Wilson and his family went on vacation and relocated from New York to Los Angeles. By the time Wilson’s family was now living in Los Angeles Jeremy’s video had premiereed on MTV and feeling something seismic happen, they started to sense something big was happening with his Father recalling to Billboard . “Once we moved there, he started getting all this fan mail, and he went on this radio talk show [with Dr. Drew Pinsky] — and women were calling in and saying they’d like to take him to bed… just boxes and boxes of fan mail,” Wilson soon became recognizable to a lot of places he went with his father adding “After a few months of that attention, he kind of turned away.” with his mother adding

#godsmack #motleycrue #sullyerna
I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.
Released in 1998, Godsmack’s first album, which riginally self released as All Wound Up, until the band signed a major recording deal to Universal and Republic Records. They would soon re-release the album as a self titled release. Gracing the cover was a mysterious pierced and woman along with a logo I always shared some similarities with Alice in Chains. Not to mention the name Godsmack, the name of a track taken off Alice in Chains hugely popular 1992 Dirt album. I found it funny when drummer Shannon Larkin claimed the band were not influenced by Alice in Chains saying they are not clones of the band telling the Reno Gazette Journal “I don't hear it. I was never a big ALICE IN CHAINS fan. Layne's (Staley of ALICE IN CHAINS) voice is amazing, but I never heard it. If somebody said GODSMACK sounds like METALLICA, I could totally hear that. Sully sounds like (METALLICA's James) Hetfield to me. I guess there's a darkness to the harmonies that sounds like Layne and Jerry (Cantrell),but to me it's still apples and oranges."
Getting back to the story. . Who was the woman on the cover,, was she real and if so what is she up today? That’s what were going to explore along with the controversy involving the album and a disgruntled parent.
The woman on Godsmack’s debut album is a real person. Her name is Toni Tiller. She would be interviewed by Kerrang where she discussed how she got on the cover and what she’s up to today. She would admit to meeting the members of the band years after the shoot and how nice they were. She would tell Kerrang how she graced the album cover recalling "I was living in NYC and deeply involved in the club kid scene and so I had an interesting look going. I met a photographer in Brooklyn and we were trying a few things out for a project if his and we snapped that image. A few years later he was working with the band and they saw that in his book and liked it, so they purchased it for use. The next ting I know, my face everywhere. It was pretty strange, but I love weird stuff like that."
That image the band used was taken four years earlier in 1994. Tiller would admit she wasn’t a model and would help people out if they asked also admitting that one woman in new york made a doll of her. Surprisingly she would admit that being on the album’s cover never got her recognized in public, largely because of geography. She would admit there weren’t a lot of Godsmack fans where she lived at the time. So what’s she up to today? She would admit to Kerrang "Now I live in the woods, I'm bald, usually barefoot, and into a variety of stuff. Meditation, strange objects, cooking, esoteric studies, cacti, dollhouses, rugs, and artsy crap. In my spare time I have a reform school for rude kittens." Since doing the interview with Kerrang she has posted some photos showing her signing posters of the band’s debut album.
Let’s talk about the controversy behind the album. Released in august of 1998 the group’s debut record didn’t create any trouble for almost a year. In April of 1999 the album was certified gold in America moving half a million copies. Then in June of 1999 MTV reported that one, I’m not kidding one parent from Cleveland had bought the record for his kid and after going through the liner notes and lyrics, complained about the record citing objectionable artwork and lyrics. The artwork they objected to were pentagrams The album hadn’t been released with a parental advisory sticker and somehow made it’s way past the people who review albums for walmart and k-mart. The complaint resulted in the chains pulling the album off store shelves. Eventually the band agreed to play ball with walmart and put parental advisory stickers on the album with sully erna telling rolling stone "Our record has been in the marketplace for more than a year now without a parental advisory sticker and this is the one and only complaint. Stickers and lyrics are by nature subjective. We have decided to put a sticker on the record." "It's almost taunting kids to go out and get the record to see what we're saying on it. Erna would claim the controversy didn’t hurt the album commercially and he was probably right the album went 4x platinum just in America

#gunsnroses #axlrose #buckethead
I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.
Guns N’ Roses would rule the world from 1988-1993 releasing several huge albums including Appetite for Destruction and the Use Your Illusion Records. Following the Use your illusion tour in 1993, the band struggled to write new material. The band cobled together a covers album that was put out in 1993 tilted the spaghetti incident and the following year they released a cover of the rolling stone’s song sympathy for the devil for the film interview with the vampire. By 1995 Slash released his side project Slash’s snakepit, signalling the end of his working relationship with frontman Axl Rose for nearly 20 years. He would leave the band the following year and would be followed by bassist Duff McKagan in 1997 and drummer Matt Sorum would be fired by Rose the same year. By 1998 Rose was the last man standing from the 80’s lineup of the band. He had to assemble a new band and while a lot of people came and went over the next 2 decades, one of the more interesting members to join the band was guitarist Buckethead. Today, let’s take a look at his time in the band.
It was frequently reported in the press in the early to mid 90’s that frontman Axl Rose was not just a fan of hard rock music, but more alternative bands including Jane’s Addiction, Pearl Jam and Nine Inch Nails. When Guns N’ Roses began workign on their proper follow up to 1991’s use your illusion it was reported that Rose wanted the band’s music to grow and evolve, while guitarist Slash wanted to stay closer to the band’s hard rock sound. Perhaps Rose gave us a sneek peak of where his mind was at when he put out the head scratching tune My World on Use your illusion 2. In 1995 Slash who was doing press for Slash’s Snakepit revealed where Axl’s mind was at the time musically saying to metal hammer There was a point there where Axl goes: 'I'm gonna do a solo record, and I'm gonna get Trent Reznor and Dave Navarro, and [Dave Grohl,] the drummer from Nirvana...' and so on. And it's like, he doesn't even know half of these people. He's just pulling them out of the sky." (Slash, Metal Hammer, 11/95)
In a separate interview with Canadian Radio Slash would state the same year "Then [Axl] decided his solo-project he could do with Guns, which I was like, after doing all those videos and this and that and the other, I was like: "No". [laughs] No, I don't wanna get involved in any kind of Stephanie Seymour ballads or any of that shit.
As Axl assembled his new lineup of GUns N’ Roses in the late 90’s he would bring in nine inch nails guitarist Robin Finck, who played with the band in 1998 and 1999, but he would depart the group just before the millennium leaving the band without a guitarist. While future guitarist Richard Fortus was asked to audition it would fall through with him recalling to "I was scheduled to ultimate guitar They called and said, 'Yeah, we want to fly you out this week.' I was going to be there anyway doing sessions, so I could do it at that time. They said, 'Perfect.' I didn’t hear back from them, so I just figured, 'Well, it must not be happening.'" (Richard Fortus, Ultimate Guitar, 11/26/08). In a separate interview with TImes Union he would state
"Before that audition happened, Axl saw Buckethead play, and he decided to go with him instead
Fortus wouldn’t join the band until 2002 and still plays with them to this day. As for how Buckethead joined, Rose wasn’t sure how to get a hold of the guitarist, but Guns N’ Roses drummer at the time Josh Freese knew Buckethead and helped Rose track him down. Freese would reveal to podmotaic that he had heard that buckethead was up in san francisco hanging out with the band Primus so Freese would place a call to Primus manager Dave Lefkowitzrecalling the conversation he had with Lefkowitz The first thing I was like, "Do you think Buckethead would be into this, he's such a quirky, weird, artiste?" And Dave goes, "Yeah, I think he is tired of the starving artist routine, I think he is ready to make a living"."
Things wouldn’t be solidified until Buckethead was invited to Rose’s home for Christmas in 1999. It had been a tough holiday season for bucket who was h

Led Zeppelin’s Disastrous Reunion (Live-Aid)
Live Aid in 1985 was a charity concert that was held simultaneously in the UK and America and was put together to help fight the famine in Ethriopia that had been documented the previous year. I don’t think i’ve ever shared this with you guys, but I used to live in ethiopia when i was younger. Yes, i know i’m quite worldly. Live Aid 1985 was the site of several high profile reunions including Black Sabbath, Crosby Still Nash and Young. But that wasn’t what most fans were looking forward to. The charity concert was also the site of the most anticipated reunion was one involving ¾ members of the led zeppelin with drummer phil collins. The performance that day would be remembered as a complete disaster even by the members themselves and today we’re going to explore the stories.
Led Zeppelin would break up in 1980 following the death of drummer john bonham the band would disband. The band would reunite for the first time in 1985 after Live Aid organizer Bob Geldoff convinced the surviving members to appear at the Phildaelphia concert at john f kennedy stadium. . The band would play through a 20 minute long set consisting of three of their classic songs including Rock and Roll, Whole Lotta Love, and Stairway to Heaven. Tony Thompson and Phil Collins filled in on the drums for the performance.
The performance was not remembered for the right reasons.
The performance was marred by a myriad of problems. Bassist john paul jones flew in the day of the show and the band only spent an hour rehearsing the same day. Couple this with the fact that the monitors were acting up and the members couldn’t hear themselves or each other and when guitarist jimmy page was handed a guitar on stage it was out of tune. Couple this with frontman Robert Plant’s vocal problems and it was a performance fans had hoped for.
Frontman Robert Plant would tell Rolling stone 3 years after Live AId . “Emotionally, I was eating every word that I had uttered. And I was hoarse. I’d done three gigs on the trot before I got to Live Aid. We rehearsed in the afternoon, and by the time I got onstage, my voice was long gone.” with Jimmy Page adding years later My main memories, really, were of total panic. John Paul Jones arrived virtually the same day as the show and we had about an hour’s rehearsal before we did it. And that sounds like a bit of a kamikaze stunt, really, when you think of how well everyone else was rehearsed.”
Phil Collins would write about the performance in his book writing I knew the wheels are falling off from early on in the set. I can’t hear Robert clearly from where I’m sat, but I can hear enough to know that he’s not on top of his game. If I’d known it was to be a two-drummer band, I would have removed myself from proceedings long before I got anywhere near Philadelphia.” He would tell q magazine in 2014 in a separate interview "I thought it was just going to be low-key and we'd all get together and have a play.
"But something happened between that conversation and the day - it became a Led Zeppelin reunion. I turned up and I was a square peg in a round hole."
Adding "Robert was happy to see me, but Jimmy wasn't. You could sense I wasn't welcome.
"If I could have walked off, I would have done. But then we'd all be talking about why Phil Collins walked off Live Aid - so I just stuck it out.
While many including some of the band members blamed Collins for at least part of the poor performance with Jimmy Page telling the Sunday Times “The drummer couldn’t get the beginning of ‘Rock And Roll’,”” So we were in real trouble with that. "But at the end of the day, he didn't know anything. We played 'Whole Lotta Love', and he was just there bashing away cluelessly and grinning. I thought that was really a joke."
Collins would blame a lack of rehearsal time as reported by new musical express stating “I didn’t rehearse when I got there, but I listened to ‘Stairway To Heaven’ on Concorde,” he said. “I arrived and went to the caravans, and Robert said: ‘Jimmy Page is belligerent’.”
he would blame other drummer Tony Thompson. Collins would claimed was more trying to make a name for himself should led zeppelin

I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.
Nirvana would release their final and third studio album in-utero in September of 1993. Unbeknownst to their fans, the band would be done 8 months later. Today I want to talk about the band’s final concert.
In the months after Nirvana released in-utero they’d play MTV unplugged in november of 1993 and the same month perform on mtv’s live and loud. In January of 1994 the band would reassemble in the studio, but those sessions proved unfruitful.
In February of 1994 the band traveled to europe for what would be their final tour together. It was originally planned to be a 3 month trek that would see them Playacross the entire continent and last until April 8th.. Cobain who had been struggling with heroin addiction for the past three years was finding it more difficult to find his drug on Europe resulting in him going through painful withdrawals. Only adding to the problems for him was that his wife Courtney Love and Daughter were back home and Kurt was feeling lonely.
On top of that Kurt the rigors of touring were taking a toll on Kurt’s voice and physical health.
Nirvana would play their final gig on March 1, 1994 at an airplane hangar called Terminal 1 in Munich, germany to a crowd of 3,000 people. This wasn’t the final scheduled date of the tour, but rather a midway point as according to Kerrang the band had also scheduled Manchester (March 27), Glasgow (28), Aston Villa Leisure Centre (30 and 31), Cardiff International Arena (April 1) and four nights at Brixton Academy in London (April 3, 4, 5 and 6) before finishing up the tour in Dublin Ireland on April 8th.
The band initially was only scheduled to play two shows at the brixton academy but two more shows would be tacked on after the first two shows sold out within hours, which was helped by the fact that in-utero topped the uk charts. In the run up to the band’s performance at Terminal 1, Kerrang magazine wrote a review of the band’s show in Paris as and i quote a “safe and conventional performance” and claimed the band looked and i quote “bored and tame”, A pretty accurate assessment. Esquire would publish excerpts from the book i found my friends the oral history of nirvana: The book would detail the shifting mood in the band during their final tour. Beginning in portugal in february of 1994 the mood shifted from excitement to and i quote By March 1, the mood of the tour was at a perilous low as Nirvana strolled through virtually the same ninety-minute sets they'd played every night for sixty shows over five months and Cobain complained of illness—"bored and old" indeed
Their final show in Munich would come nearly six weeks before Cobain would die at his home in Seattle. Their final show would take place on March 1, 1994 in Munich at an old airport hangar called Terminal 1. It wasn’t really a glamorous venue and the acoustics were terrible. Cobain would not attend the soundcheck and according to author charles r cross cobain instead went to the train station to score after asking his tour manager to get an advance on his daily per diem allowance. Ahead of the gig possibly after scoring Kurt allegedly got involved in a fight with his wife over the phone and then called his lawyer Rosemary Carooll reportedly telling her waned a divorce according to the book Nirvana FAQ
According to The Melvins Buzz Osborne who was supporting Nirvana on tour, Cobain claimed he was soon going to be ending the band.
The band would open up their munich show with a cover of the cars song my best friend’s girl, possibly a reference to the problems he was having with Courtney Love at the time. That song was followed by radio friendly unit shifter and drain you. . A few songs later in the set the band performed their hit single COme As You Are the power would go out. Once the power was restored teh next song on the set “Smells Like Teen Spirit” would be skipped. This resuled in Krist Novaselic either saying as a joke or foreshadowing the future telling the crowd
“We’re not playing the Munich Enormodome tonight. Because our careers are on the wane. We’re on the way out. Grunge is dead. Nirvana’s over. ... Our next record’s going to be a hip-hop record!” The power would eventu

Lyrics:
Uh oh
She’s my best friend in the whole world
On the mood board she’s the inspo
And she’s dressed in really cute clothes
Kawaii like we’re in Tokyo
Devon Lee smile teeth a white row
Got a classic real deep Van Gogh
She got loyalty
She says “I love you girl”
I love her more
Ah Barbie you’re so fine
You’re so fine you blow my mind
Jump into the driver's seat
And put it into speed drive
Hot - riding through the streets
On a different frequency
Know you know just what I mean
We’re running through the red lights
Uh oh
Got the top down tires on fire
Who are you? I’m living my life
See you looking with that side eye
Wow you’re so jealous cuz I’m one of a kind
What you think about me I don’t care
I’m a classic real deep Voltaire
The girls who need to know
Well they already know
They’re over there
Ah Barbie you’re so fine
You’re so fine you blow my mind
Jump into the driver's seat
And put it into speed drive
Hot - riding through the streets
On a different frequency
Know you know just what I mean
We’re running through the red lights
Ah Barbie you’re so fine
You’re so fine you blow my mind
Jump into the driver's seat
And put it into speed drive
Hot - riding through the streets
On a different frequency
Know you know just what I mean
We’re running through the red lights
Red lights, red lights, red lights
Red lights, red lights, red lights yeah
Red lights, red lights, red lights yeah

Video:
"The music video for the song was directed by Andy Morahan, Stan Winston and Jeffrey Abelson. A T-800 Terminator is assembled, given the appearance of Arnold Schwarzenegger, and dispatched to assassinate the band at one of their concerts. The video consists of clips from the movie, including its teaser trailer, intercut with footage of the band performing the song as the T-800 makes his way to the front of the crowd. After the song ends, he confronts the band as they leave the venue through a back door and analyzes each member individually; Izzy Stradlin is absent at this point, replaced by keyboardist Dizzy Reed. The T-800 scans W. Axl Rose last and concludes that killing the band would be a "Waste of Ammo". Lowering his shotgun, he gives Rose a brief smirk and walks away.
As the video features clips from the movie, it could not be put on the DVD Welcome to the Videos due to licensing issues. The video was also not included on any of the DVD releases of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, although it was included with a special double tape edition of the film, released on VHS in 1993." Lyrics:
It's 5 o'clock in the morning
Conversation got boring
You said you're going to bed soon
So I snuck off to your bedroom
And I thought I'd just wait there (uh)
Until I heard you come up the stairs (uhh)
And I pretended I was sleeping (uhh)
And I was hoping...
It's 5 o'clock in the morning, and I want ya
And you want me, don't ya?
I can see it
Cause you've been waiting on me since
I said that I was hittin' the club
Something coming up on me
And I know you be getting so horny
Cause you be sending me texts saying
Like boy just get your ass up in that car
And come get all of this love

LYRICS
As I climb through dirt and mud
I’m sinking under
In a grave of life that was
I saw a light
I turned back on everything
I search for half-remembered dreams
Pulling me down with you
Above my head, they’re circling
The vultures want what’s left of me
I sacrificed it all and I will fight
Until the world goes cold
This battle’s burned all that I’ve known
Until the world goes cold
Nothing will keep me from this throne, I’ll fight
Until the world goes cold
Until the world goes cold
As I build my house of bones
You’re sinking under
For all your sins, you will atone
I burned it down
I turned back on everything
I search for half-remembered dreams
Pulling me down with you
(I burned it down)
Above my head, they’re circling
The vultures want what’s left of me
I sacrificed it all and I will fight
Until the world goes cold
This battle’s burned all that I’ve known
Until the world goes cold
Nothing will keep me from this throne, I’ll fight
Until the world goes cold
This battle has burned all
I’ll fight forevermore
Until the world goes cold
This battle’s burned all that I’ve known
Until the world goes cold
This battle’s burned all that I’ve known
Until the world goes cold
Nothing will keep me from this throne, I’ll fight
Until the world goes cold

LYRICS:
It’s easy to be right
When everything repeats
It’s easier to cut us down and point at our defeat
It’s easy to be right
When everything repeats
Dig below the surface, find your insecurities
Tell me
Maybe you were right
Maybe I was wrong
But I’ve been silent for far too long
Maybe you were right
Maybe I should go
But I’ve been silent for far too long
What will it take
To rip the heart from your hate
What will it take
What will it take
To rip the heart from your hate
You always walk away
Soon you'll have to face it
Your distance from reality won't bury or erase it
I tried to do the same
Living so complacent
But the problems wouldn't go away so I turned around to face them

Lyrics:
I already feel like doing it again, honey
Cuz once you know, then you know and you don’t wanna go
Back to wherever it is that you come from, yeah
I just want to stay high with you
Cuz where I come from everybody frowns and walks around with that ugly thing on their face
And where I come from we work hard and grind and hustle all day (yes! we do!)
There comes a time
There comes a time at night where we get to play
And we smile and laugh
And jump and clap and
Yell and holler and just feel great!
I just want to stay high with you
So, don’t question my state of mind
I’m doing wonderful just fine, thank you. (Thank you!)
Everything is everything and everything is beautiful
(How did you get like that?)
See all I do is keep it cool and don’t worry bout what everyone is doing
I already feel like doing it again, honey!
I just want to stay high with you

In 1986 MTV would partner up with musician Prince to promote his new film at the time titled Under the Cherry Moon. MTV would hold a contest to give one lucky winner the chance to win a date with the musician along with several other prizes. Here’s a promo the network ran for the contest.

The winner would be 20 year old hotel chambermaid from Sheridan, Wyoming named Lisa Barber. The town’s population was less than 11,000 people. Barber would spot the ad for the contest while watching MTV with a friend one day after work., Funny enough Prince wasn’t the most famous celebrity to visit the town as it was reported that years prior Queen Elizabeth II was spotted shopping in the town. She had been invited by Sen. Malcolm Wallop. .
The Daily Beast would reach out to Prince’s publicist Robyn Riggs several years after the musician’s death to recount what happened behind the scenes. Riggs who was 25 at the time would recall reading the paper the day after the MTV contest ended. She read an interview with Barber who was asked whether she was a fan of her boss with her responding ‘Yeah, he’s OK. But I really like Motley Crue! I hope I get to meet Tommy Lee.”
Riggs fearing that the contest could unravel would head down to Billings, Montanna, the closest major airport to Sheridan. Riggs would have to give Barber a makeover from heavy metal fan to Prince fan, and had to ensure preparations were underway for her boss arrival. A convoy of trucks descended on the small town with Prince’s equipment for the concert. Prince’s band the Revolution, didn’t have a good start to the contest with guitarist Wendy Melvoin revealing in the book Prince: The Man and his music . “We had the worst flight ever from Denver to Sheridan, everyone was praying. We thought we were gonna die," with Keyboardist Lisa Coleman adding, “The plane was a VW van with wings.”
The contest almost fell apart when. Prince’s manager, would call Riggs to tell her thatthat the musician would drive himself to the movie theatre and the contest winner could ride with the band in the bus to the event. Furious, Riggs would call up Rob Friedman who was the head of the movie studo’s marketing department to give him a heads up and tell Prince’s manager and i quote “Steven, here’s what’s going to happen. You’re going to get with your client, you’re going to tell him that he’s going to take this girl AS HIS DATE. If he does not do that, then I’m going to haul Warner Bros. out of here. And all of our promotional dollars are going home.”
Ahead of the movie premiere Barber would spend an hour getting dolled up by Prince’s haristylist and makeup artist and was given an outfit to wear for the premiere admitting to people magazine she and i quote “usually shopped at kmart”
Barber would tell People Magazine “I was so nervous, but he told jokes in the car while he drove us to the movie theater, and I could tell he was doing his best to help me relax,” “It was such a huge deal – cameras were flashing everywhere. That night was the biggest thing to ever happen in Sheridan.”
After the movie premiere the party headed back to the local holiday inn where Prince and his band played a 45 minute set. In honor of the celebration, then Sheridan Mayor Max DeBolt proclaimed July 1, 1986, as “Prince and MTV Day.”
Prince would end up keeping a fake pearl necklace he got from Barber that night, but he wouldn’t leave her empty handed giving her a goodnight kiss at her home, along with a pair of earrings and gold necklace in addition to two tickets to an upcoming concert in Denver Barber would admit to people magazine “I went with a friend and they gave us backstage passes, but he wasn’t there after the show,” “Still, he was so sweet. He left me 13 long-stemmed red roses.”
